Hi Anthony I need to use my I-pad for editing while we are travelling in our caravan, we have limited space & the I-pad is the best option. Would love to see more tutorials
I’m a cycle tourist and currently in the middle of a one year tour. I’m restricted to editing on an ipad and your tutorial gave me a lot of useful info. A more complete series on mobile editing would be well appreciated. Thanks
Two thumbs on a mobile LR series. I use an iPad Pro for travel and on-the-go editing; it's also useful for quicker social media posting because can be away from the big computer.
Hi Anthony, quite often I’d like to edit photos on my travels without an Internet connection. I gather that there is no local file support on LR Mobile on the iPad like there is on the desktop version. Is there any workaround for this?
I need a good way to integrate LR I’m iPad when traveling with my usual LR Classic at home on my HD. Because there is no way to import new pics into LR from a camera I don’t know how to integrate both work streams. Ideas?
If your camera has a USB-C output, you can directly connect your camera to your iPad and upload to Lr directly from the camera. If you don't have a USB port on your camera, then you'll need a card reader, but you can attach a card reader to your iPad and upload photos that way as well.
It depends on your wi-fi connection but yes, getting the photos from local storage on the iPad to the cloud can be a long process, especially if you have RAW files. I've seen in take all night in a European hotel to upload 300 photos to the cloud. That's why it's critical to make sure you have enough storage on your iPad to accommodate all the photos you take until the upload can complete. I have a 256GB iPad and I've easily put 2000 photos in local storage on it. (a 26mp RAW file is roughly 46MB, so I use a round number of 50. 50MB x 2000 photos is 100GB, or less than half the local storage on the iPad. Of course, if you're shooting 47mp photos or higher, that total will be affected.)
My big question on Lightroom mobile is how to manage the minimum storage that you have in the cloud. Once it goes over to my desktop on Lightroom classic, how do I erase the cloud photos in a quick way to keep the cloud storage to a minimum. Maybe someone can answer since Anthony doesn't read these comments.
I do this all the time since my iPad is my travel computer. Once your photos are downloaded to LrC from the cloud, move the photos to a folder other than the one designated for cloud downloads. In my setup, it's called From Lightroom Cloud. This is specified in the Lightroom Sync tab in LrC preferences. Once you move the photos to a different folder, they are no longer connected to the images in the cloud. So you can then go to Lightroom on your iPad (or the desktop version of Lr) and delete those files, thus freeing up the space. Then, if you still might want to make edits to those same photos later, you upload them from LrC to Lr. But remember that when you go this direction, you are only uploading smart previews and those don't count against your allocated cloud storage space. (I currently have more than 50,000 photos accessible in Lr for iPad but I'm only using 815 MB of cloud storage - and those are some that I still have as full images in the cloud.) Hope this helps

Great video, I have started edinting on the ipad, but the edits are not synching back to LRC, any idea what I'm 'not' doing?
Would really like a series on mobile Lightroom and photoshop
I’ve been using Lightroom Mobile for a few years and find it to convenient to work with.

On1 2024 would be a great series.
Hi! Thank you for this tutorial. Very helpful. Would you consider doing a tutorial on the camera feature of LR mobile? Thank you in advance.
I have Lightroom, not Lightroom Classic, and when I login to my desktop iMac, the new AI Denoise feature is available.

What iPad model is that?
I do this, but getting the files to properly start synchronizing is haphazard.

Why can’t you just select and delete the photos in the mobile app. Presuming they’re backed up elsewhere.

Adobe, please for the love of all things holy, it’s time to add tethering to the IPad / LR mobile app!!!
