yoyoyo! First of all I believe there has been a misconspetion created, this is not a remake of blade of justice, this is a remake of *unnerfed* blade of justice, the gameplay is different than the current rated version in many places. Imma talk about some of the thought processes behind this level's balancing for a bit. Realvet's wave at 1:21 is almost directly just taken from the original unnerfed BoJ, Now I'm not sure what was going through the heads of the creators at the time but the wave is pretty much built in a way where reading it is as difficult as it can be (best shown at 1:11 with the two sawblades at the top of the 2 slopes, going anywhere but preciesly next to the slopes will cause you to hit the sawblade before dropping down) We honestly tried our best with this part and by this point it isn't too annoying and does get consistent after a *l*o*t* of practice, this has always been personally my least favourite part of the level in terms of GP but we got it into a lot more bearable of a state than it was when we got it. the portal at 80% ( 4:28 ) Is there in unnerfed blade of justice, it is definitively the easiest gap in that wave, as the timing is quite wide. not nearly as annoying as it looks and it's gonna stay there due to it's iconic nature and the fact it just feels... fun and satisfying as hell while not really being difficult at all. As for the gap at 53% ( 2:52 ) This is just a simple hold, no timing is required. As for the following wave, for a top 10 those are actually very simple patterns and the hitboxes on the saws are actually very forgiving. The part is actually fixed from what it was in unnerfed BoJ where the saws presisted throughout the whole part (even the last 3 clicks) which was just unreadable hell, which me and the hosts, along with thunderBT, decided to remove. This is one of the few parts which we actually didn't need to touch while balancing the fully finished version (at least up to this point) As for the last part apple ( 5:09 ) the part is mostly carried by the wave while the rest of the part falls off in difficulty the further it goes pretty much, it is mostly intended to be this way (though in the version where it was showcased it went into this direction too much, as of writing this comment the ship has had it's timings adjusted and buffs applied) The part on it's own is probably the easiest past 60% and one of the easiest in the level. I still enjoyed the video pleanty though, some things I do agree with is the glow effect in the first ship being annoying in gameplay (though the places where it occurs aren't the hardest timings in the ship) and the comment on CuLuC's UFO about the part's difficulty being misleading hit the nail on the head. For frame of reference I think currently as of time of writing it's the hardest part in the second half, while at the time of showcase it was practically auto. the point about spikes on walls inside of waves is perfectly valid, though I've always personally prefered waves that way. thanks for taking the time to read, balancing this level has been a headache for pretty much everyone involved, from creators changing gameplay to fit structuring, to differences in balancing opinion, to the disbalance between the first 20% being impossible and the last 60% being free for 90% of the level's lifespan, I think we've finally hit a point where it is actually playable and fun to play aswell. I really hope it will live up to expectations at the end of the day.
Good luck on verifying edge of destiny because edge of destiny is my favorite geometry dash level and my prediction is that is think edge on destiny will be harder than Tartarus when it gets placed on the demons list when it gets verified and rated my prediction
this is the first time ive seen someone actually review the level without just calling it perfect, trash or just saying "deco good, deco bad" instead giving pretty valid criticism and pointing out alot of good and bad things about the decoration AND gameplay overall giving some respectable and necessary criticism to a potentially god like top 10 to help it turn out better.
Im really happy that someone atleast tries to judge the gp at a glance and make guesses of how it will play instead of just focusing on deco. Good vid!

Yes, they could've nerfed it, but song hits hard. Also, yes the yellow portal on 80% really has to go. Overall, great level.
My guy went Gordon Ramsey mode on this level. We need people like him to tell us level creators what to do and what not to do. Otherwise, we end up with levels like aod.

just a quick note, the spike with the mini ship that you commented on at the end of the dual doesnt actually matter and you dont have to drop down, you get put out of dual before that and it looks like that would be physically impossible anyway

Just to clarify one thing. This is not a remake of BOJ, this is the unnerfed version of BOJ called Edge of Destiny. (The level was too hard back then so they needed to nerf it)
The only issue i have is you say a couple of times that x gap is “too tight” (not the misleading gaps just the pure gaps) and why i have an issue with that is this is meant to be top 10, unless you step back and look at the modern day top 10.. its easy to miss that these gaps *need* to be like that in order for this to be top 10, like look at the top 10 nowadays.. but yea other than that i can agree for the majority

Onpopular opinion: The yellow portal at 4:20 is the single worst gameplay mechanic in the game and i hated stuff like that since people started doing them
CD Mucic and the other people who did this didn't make the gameplay, the creator of blade of justice did. this is unnerfed BoJ, the one that's rated and you beat was nerfed in the making, this is just a redeco of unnerfed BoJ.

Imo after rewatching this vid and seeing the comments.. Am just going to say that if the original levels is absolutely shit its not compulsory to make the remake shit aswell they could have changed a bit of gameplay cause that wouldn't have caused much trouble

The only issue i have is you say a couple of times that x gap is “too tight” (not the misleading gaps just the pure gaps) and why i have an issue with that is this is meant to be top 10, unless you step back and look at the modern day top 10.. its easy to miss that these gaps *need* to be like that in order for this to be top 10, like look at the top 10 nowadays.. but yea other than that i can agree for the majority
I understand they have to be tight, I meant more that they seemed a lot tighter then in other parts, thus making the level look unbalanced. Again, hard to tell from a video, but that’s what it felt like

The yellow portal at 4:20 is the single worst gameplay mechanic in the game and i hated stuff like that since people started doing them

@@JustAnotherAspect unnerfed not old, old BOJ is VERY different, the deco is way worse and the first ship is a straight-fly challenge. I think Manix and Lazerblitz changed the gameplay and the deco, but it mightve been someone else

@@JustAnotherAspect bruh no that’s how the game works. This is call deceptive spikes. Maneuvering over a tight cordor isn’t the hardest but sometimes the deceptive spikes makes the level seems easy. Which it’s actually hard.
