Probably English is her first language, as she was born in Australia. Later, the family moved back to Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She even answers questions in Tamil in English! She is amazing 😊

@richardkrupa, yes Woodstock introduced but isn't that one is purely Carnatic...so is the rejection. People could not relate it. But I think, the future is the integration of all forms and genres of music together, in my humble opinion. And boy, this girl tried something different for Americans..I feel, she should go into extreme vibrance of both Carnatic and Western, if possible Hindastani and African tradition too... (Am I too ambitious here? 🤣😂🤩)
@@debra6968 HAHA, yes you're a little too ambitious. I believe the producers have mapped out a plan. Maya is meeting various Metal players for a reason. She's not just randomly appearing on their doorsteps and they're letting her in and jamming with her. AGT is a well oiled machine and they mean to do something special with Maya. Even Maya's carnatic guitar teacher is with her on the trip. Trust me, they believe in her. Not everyone gets this red carpet treatment. Hopefully India gets to vote in some capacity.
