Basically, the case's outcome made it clear that the Constitution is Supreme, even over the Parliament and that the fundamental structure cannot be changed no matter how many seats any party has in the government. This was instrumental in preventing Indira Gandhi from turning India into a Presidential system and will be crucial in preventing the Sangh Parivar's designs to make India into a theocracy or some kind of non-democratic system.
