- I've been reading about Gram Parsons and his role in helping to conceive the Country/Rock genre. His Country and Folk injected chord progressions, Gospel melodies, and kick-ass bands had a lot of respect by the time of his death in 1973. A tortured but gifted soul, he left a legacy of cool songs to listen to and play. This song, Love Hurts, was fist recorded by the Everly Brothers in 1960 and later by Gram and Emmylou Harris on the album Grievous Angel in 1973, just before his untimely death at the age of 26.
