Thresher shark fishing caught out of Long Beach California

On this trip I wanted to fish local waters and we went out to long beach to try something completely new to me! My buddy and I hit up LB break wall for 4 hrs and went 1 for 2 on these threshers! We landed the 1st one which took about 40mins to hook up. The 2nd one at 3 hr mark and pulled the hook after a 3 min fight. Thresher measured 9' 2"... Just a quick edit

Yeah bro, I kept a small size steak pc for myself & it tasted just like any other good tasting fish. Made some 💣 fish tacos 🤙

Nice catch. What did you use for bait? I never fished for thresher. Taking my boat out Monday. Still trying to decide what to target.
