I look forward to the legendary run where he gets deep with like 30 curses, an inverter, holy guac, a level 3 sprite, and a potion that removes all curses, bombs, and keys
The Pilfer's Ring is quite amazing under the right curse, the inflation curses/double all costs as it provides a serious decrease in price of things at the shop so it can help counter act it. Also good for 3 Relic Shop runs
Just started seeing your content - you are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay underrated/subscribed for your content. You do an amazing job and have a very unique personality and approach to your content.
The witch’s brew potion gives you like 13 curses and is one of, if not, the rarest items in the game so you really messed up not taking it. Edit: Since I only ever found it once I was wrong with the original number thanks to axolot for correcting me Edit 2: Jesus Christ thanks for the likes guys I’ve never gotten more than 10 before! Edit 3: so I just discovered something incredible! You can restart the floor over and over again for a chance for the devil guy to spawn!
Funny thing about the chakram is that it came into existence because they had to patch gust to ONLY increase pick size after they realized that having increased pick size, ability to go through walls, AND continuous hit at apex of throw was a bit over powered for a blessing
The next time you go to the big "idiot" as you call him (that bored demon who sells you relics in exchange for giving you curses), keep an eye out for that pocket of holding or whatever its called. The one that gives you two, free temporary bombs per room. It is frankly awesome. And once you have it, you can do an amusing run the likes of which you probably haven't done! Namely, the *"turn GOLD into a weapon"* run. Even if you don't go for that run though, it is one of the best relics in the game, because you don't need to give a crap about any form of secret detection. Just drop a bomb on a wall. Secret? If one is on another wall, it will sparkle! Drop a bomb there! Drop bombs elsewhere! Blow up the rocks! Find all the rooms! Find all the loot! When you have 2 free bombs for every room, you don't have to care about things like treasure maps or other such secret-finding things. You just bomb first and ask questions later. Obviously, things that increase the number of secret rooms are still good, but things that just make them more obvious are no longer useful. Obviously, the pocket, or a very large number of bombs and bomb-replicating relics + luck in shop and elsewhere to get many many bombs, is essential to *TURNING GOLD INTO A WEAPON* (I would recommend hoping for the pocket, as you can then just even outright ignore a bomb doubler despite how important bombs are for this strategy). You also require conductance so that picking up gold electrocutes everything in the room, and also the gold bombs, which turn any rocks nearby into gold, and also Gold Frenzy or whatever which just gives you a temporary damage boost based on recently picked up gold stuff. You will want transmute bombs as early as possible to get as many of the things you want as possible before finding the gold bomb, which you will replace the transmute bomb with (I realize this sounds ludicrous, but no really, you WANT that golden bomb). Past that, the banner lets you move faster for a bit and thus pick up gold faster allowing you to thus electrocute the entire room faster, and any relic which increases how many pieces of stuff that is considered "gold" is critical (golden food, any popcorns (you would want all three by the end anyway for bomb spamming). Oh, right, that relic that sucks in nearby gold is also very awesome since it lets you draw in a bunch of gold and thus electrocute everything to death via conductance even faster! You may wish to take explosive gold so that the gold itself does damage too, or you may wish to avoid it since it could potentially blow up rocks you could very well be blowing up with gold bombs instead. Up to you, and whether you want to go full sith lord on the enemies or hope that bouncing gold helps to kill them. Gold Frenzy is important so you can easily kill anything immune to electricity (like those bugs or the crystal zone "nests") since it can easilly get you over +100 damage. Lastly, float boots are VERY recommended so you can just ignore holes and focus only on avoiding your own bombs and then picking up the massive amount of gold that drops after they explode. The strategy is simple. With the necessary relics, you go into a new room, place your two free gold bombs near any gold and/or rocks/things that also blow up into gold with gold bombs. Then, collect the gold with your banner speed and your gold suction as you suck up all the gold while simultaneously electrocuting all the enemies in the room. Outside of there being electric-immune enemies, most rooms should die remarkably fast in the end game. And if you get healing from gold along with that crystal that heals again, it doesn't even matter if you bomb yourself! The gold alone (and all the random golden meat that duplicates to hell and back) will heal you for what your own bombs did to you! So yeah. Blessing-wise, if you want to maximize gold for the *Ultimate Gold Run,* then wealth and the blessing which decreases shop prices are musts. Regardless of that intent, this is a run where you will actually WANT to increase your bomb size. As well as focusing on damage reduction, purely for the sake of course of reducing how much you damage yourself with your own bombs. Because once your transmute and later on golden bombs are taking up a third of the screen, you will not really be able to dodge them any more outside of just running in a straight line (again, why I strongly suggest float boots). The endgame for this effectively has you just dropping bombs, collecting gold, then looking around to discover everything has, for SOME reason, just died already. And then you shrug and just continue on. Enter a new room, bomb stuff, get hit at least once, heal up completely from all the gold and golden food, wonder why everything seemed to die within 5 seconds from a massive thunderstorm, shrug again and just keep picking up gold and golden food while ranting angrily at nearby pilfers, and just doing stuff of this nature. Oh, and never use a gold dropping potion if you aren't in a boss fight. Because with Gold Frenzy, this basically turns into a +100 damage potion for as long as you have it. I'll just say that I managed to get 350k of gold in my first REAL attempt at this (I got about 200k in an accidental "attempt" at it). And at the time I did not yet have the duplicator OR the relic which turns lost curses into blessings. Which would only have a chance to IMPROVE such shenanigans (also didn't find the gold bombs till there were only 6 levels left).
Tip for Selt, when it does the charging attack, put a bomb in front of it. It eats the bomb and does a lot of damage and it won't charge the 2nd time and surround you with rocks.
The demon guy with major curses has a point system. For getting MAJOR curses you get points, which increases the chances to find him. BUT getting blessings reduces the amount of points you have, making it impossible for him to spawn if you get more blessings than major curses.
The best part of the tariffs curse is that whenever you use a blessing altar it gives you two curses for one blessing as well. It’s actually awful. It definitely would work for a curse removal run, but it’s absolutely awful. I keep seeming to get it too.
