I'm a Sett main and I LOVE THIS NEW SERIES... in a fundamental stand-point. On the mechanical side, what you do with Sett is just spam autos while making sure to not cancel them with Q, and very important, DON'T SPAM E IF THEY ARE STILL IN RANGE, as E is an almost guaranteed hit of a 70% or 100% Grit W, using W in short trades will be problematic against certain match-ups that can completely run you down if you use W unproperly... Hope anybody can learn from what I've written or even correct me if I wrote something foolish and if Alois ever reads this, let me know !
Another tip never use e on darius before he uses his e unless you are super fed or in teamfight because he will be able to auto w auto q then when you try to escape on 4 bleed he will pull you back and you are screwed. In sett vs darius who ever uses e first loses the trade most of the time.
Just some tips, its not necessarily ur w usage but ur e usage that you should look at, when u fought lvl 1 if you had held e for another 0.2s or aimed it to hit the minions and garen you would have gotten the stun and double aa which kills him. Whenever Garen q'd you u pulled to get a good trade but you should be standing in a way that allows you to always have access to your stun. If you are going to w have 0 hesitation, pretty much will always need to e + w combo immediately chained together otherwise u leave room for a flash or zhonyas. Otherwise been looking forward to seeing some Sett content
Some Sett tips! Always try to trade with autos before using E, granted into ranged champions it’s almost impossible, the idea will make them bait their movement ability. The goal of Sett lane is get as many autos within abilities. An ideal trade combo would look like AAx2 E AAx2 QQ W. When they have a lot of mobility you’ll have to start with E and Q or you’ll want to save your E for an empowered W.
I made a pretty interesting build for sett that actually worked well if i do say so myself, you go warmog-heartsteel(at this point u deal 0 damage)-titanic hydra(u already deal damage)-lvl 2 boots(ones u need)-botrk/steraks(depending on the matchup) - and finish with navori quickblades(infinite w).
@@lolerislyfe2467 warmog rush is the same as mundo, but instead of scaling ad, ur scaling true damage, with the warmog passive, considering sett is a lane bully, he now has 3 ways if punishing you.
Need to use w after your e, the slow forces a dash or flash. If you stun with e then immediately w it’s guaranteed to land. W is good to use after r as well if you have enough grit because of the massive slow.

Quick Sett tip: When dealing with ranged champions, it's best to save your abilities. Think of your R like a gap closer, using it on the support or tank. Save your W and E until after you ult because the aoe has a massive slow.

Just a curiosity, illaoi in 1vs1 until the level 3 its the weakest top champ, yes it loses vs kayle if you don't start with w lmao , although from lvl 3 it gets better its very R and E dependent 😊 (R for Plays against more than 1 even more) And for sure that he picked grasp it makes the start a bit stronger but not that much I learnt that from a Diamond/Master OTP illaoi 22:17

Something doing 1.4k damage in two autos doesn't say much of anything. A skill could do 20k damage take 20s to charge or require that you have 20k gold or only be able to be used once per game, or old be available after 30minutes. Just doing 1.4k doesn't really mean anything without context.
Riven doing that much while having cc, 200 armor, and 4 gap closing abilities 😮😮😮 K'sante doing that much with 2 abilities, 5 autos, and an unstoppable ult with 400 armor and 5000 health 😮😮😮 Fiora doing that with q, e auto auto while healing all your damage back 😮😮😮 I can keep going btw

I think most the trades u r losing is bc of bad usage of w, and another point is like sett doesnt really want to buy resistences items bc of how his passive work, if u want to get a bit tankier try always to get hp + ad items, like sterak, suserano, u can go black cleaver, u can go sunder sky, etc
I dont understand why you didnt hard push the wave after you tped at lvl 4. It was a non cannon wave minion, that if you crashed would not only give you the bounce back but also a plate possibly.
Good general guide, but i really think this wasn't a sett video because all of the information and tactics you showed could be applied to almost every champion, its not really a showing of how strong sett is.
If anyone knows whats happening id like help, when i queue up and wait the time for it to find a match it seemingly receives the match found message and just doesnt show it, but when the timer for the player to press accept goes out i get the match found with a full timer cirkle for like 1/2 a sec and then the game gives me the "*player-name* has declined the match" i usually ignore it since i doesnt always happen it shows as normal 50% of the time and i get a cooldown the other 50% for declining 3 games in a row since when it happens once it usually goes several times in a row
He's used to playing champs that are either really braindead or normal. sett is just in between there that he has his brain on sometimes, and other times has nothing going on in there
No, the camps are supposed to transform the moment Baron spawns sometimes the model doesnt update to their void form, but the teamwide buff still works.

I have been mainly playing sett for the past 3-4 months atleast, and i have no idea how to climb, im around diamond 3 mmr, my botlane ints, and as sett i kinda have now way to kill them. Anyone has any tips on what should i do? (I tried taking ghost to get adc but then my lane is weaker, tried taking ignite to win lane hard but that wasnt enough aswell...)
i usually go bork first item vs garen since his silence is so annoying so i like to actually win with just autos lol. bork vs garen makes my life so much easier cus he can never fight me
illaoi is a hard sett counter. idk why they suck so much. if they are smart you just do not win. this is the same for most top matchups. there are not a lot of matchups that sett wins. if he gets ganked and gets behind he cant play too. champ has what the highest afk rate in the game at 30 or something lol? sett gets kited by most champs in other lanes. you get cc to death and cant W. itemization is good and he's good against low elo but the higher elo you go the more people take advantage of his weaknesses and he becomes pretty useless. like how do you ever beat a high elo morde, renekton, jax, etc. lol it's just not possible and you have to sit under your turret all game

If you don't get a lead period, you get outscaled. Playing safe isn't an option. You are prone to ganks because of this. Morde can also just Q and E you away for trades, heal from wave and poke with his W, and block your W with his. If you R his E without a lead, he will just R you, and you die. It's not realistic to dodge his abilities since you are melee. They repeat buff morde because he is weak against champs that can dodge his spells, but that doesn't solve that problem and only makes him into a stat check monster into champs like sett. Morde can build thornmail and still beat you. He can build hourglass. He can build rylais, too, which just makes your life more painful. That's about it.
@@crispybacon9633 sett wins hard pre-6 though, and while you're completely right about losing if morde ult goes through, sett can easily cancel his ult and wins even harder post-6 because of it which makes the matchup pretty free

She ults? just ult out of her tentacle range and shes dead, so ez matchup, if he gets behind his W is still the highest true damage ability in the game + he still destroys turrets because of the hullbreaker rush + aa reset + enchanted aa damage, how do u even know champ afk rates??, u cant really kite sett because of stridebreaker, e slow/stun, q movement speed, auto aim ult, if its full kite comp u just go tank sett and youre still usefull. Morde you just ult during his ult so youre unstoppable, mord's counter is litterally a fking minion wave, jax is a pretty hard matchup, still winnable if youre better, renekton gets outscaled quite fast by most laners in the game.
@@worsethanem3660 I have played this match up since s10. He can hide his R behind his E animation. It's pretty volatile. If he just builds right you can't win. Like how do you not get your W blocked in his R? There is nothing to stun him on. He gets isolated damage too. The best you can do is block an isolated Q with your W, but it's really hard to win when his CDs are shorter and do a lot of damage. He can hourglass and just get his spells back up. Even if your W is back up after he uses it you're not getting a full grit charge. No way lol. You can def win this but it's just so hard vs a good morde and if they play safe till they scale you can't do much. Mega stat check cringe more in mordes favor. That's how I see this. But hey, at least it's not as bad as volibear XD
Go ignite for Sett, if you don't otp him there's no reason to go TP ever and this game at minimum would have allowed you to dive Garen, get first blood and make Garen lose 4 waves
Your sett is so crisp until you have to press W then a silver sett does it better than you. You really want to combo the true damage with the stun from E a lot more than you'Re currently doing, or timing it as garen jumps for his Q in this particular matchup.
This first game made me feel good about my sett gameplay.

BTW Quick sett tip, Sett's E has more range if you angle it for the corners, you would have had the WW in midlane if you had that

Morde you just ult during his ult so youre unstoppable, mord's counter is litterally a fking minion wave, jax is a pretty hard matchup, still winnable if youre better, renekton gets outscaled quite fast by most laners in the game.
@@worsethanem3660 I have played this match up since s10. He can hide his R behind his E animation. It's pretty volatile. If he just builds right you can't win. Like how do you not get your W blocked in his R? There is nothing to stun him on. He gets isolated damage too. The best you can do is block an isolated Q with your W, but it's really hard to win when his CDs are shorter and do a lot of damage. He can hourglass and just get his spells back up. Even if your W is back up after he uses it you're not getting a full grit charge. No way lol. You can def win this but it's just so hard vs a good morde and if they play safe till they scale you can't do much. Mega stat check cringe more in mordes favor. That's how I see this. But hey, at least it's not as bad as volibear XD
Go ignite for Sett, if you don't otp him there's no reason to go TP ever and this game at minimum would have allowed you to dive Garen, get first blood and make Garen lose 4 waves

Your sett is so crisp until you have to press W then a silver sett does it better than you. You really want to combo the true damage with the stun from E a lot more than you'Re currently doing, or timing it as garen jumps for his Q in this particular matchup.
