You done a review on your dcs battery Or even a video soo far ? I was chatting to you and was going to meet you to grab the revolution we emailed about you were selling But i wasnt in your timd frame of buyer meets seller And i was needing a bigger unit
no mate, usually not quick with that stuff as I first like to test it a while, have an LiFePO4 video nearly ready and it will also show the DCS set up and my initial thoughts
AllOffroad 4x4 Adventures TV I looked them last night after watching this video There prices are awesome And the idea of using a lithium as a starting battery would be heap of weight savings If you got the twin set up to run 150 Or the 200amp hrs youd easily save 50kg at a minimum Thats massive Your not running the red 80 extreme ? For your winch setup ?
I had a Landrover defender 110 TD5 with 33 inch tyres which I loved and enjoyed and sadly had to sell it,but this is my next rig that I am looking at,hopefully still this year,I am very excited about what God is going to do,new adventures coming up 😄
Change to top shock tower for more compression. Superior have a couple of optional heights. They can raise the top of the shock 25mm before you hit the body and will give you more compression but less stroke.
Good video. Hey Stefan, can you please consider doing a video on insurance, the legality of running aftermarket lift & suspension without it being engineered. I’m sick of folks saying they’re “insured” when running a 4” lift on 35’s. I know you have first hand experience in this. Thanks
AllOffroad 4x4 Adventures TV yes it would/could be a great video, relevant to all 4wders. I’m confident it would be shared on all groups & pages of FB.
Phil McAvity great idea! So many people here in Vic are like.... “I am insured for my 6” lift & 37” tyres I’m with Shannons”. They’re so uneducated on vehicle insurance and there’s no video I can find on TH-cam that explains it.
Just a suggestion for the battery set up. leave the lead acids batteries under the bonnet lithiums don't like the heat. And look at a slim line 100a lithium for inside the car. Due to its narrow thickess 40mm maybe ,, fits behind or beside the fridge. Last about 3.5 to 4 days with the Engle with no charge. And you can still change over to your front batteries after that. Mines behind the seat with the electrical . Send you a pic if intrested.
Not on a clean example that's fine if you can find one for the right price. Getting 500-700kms before even needing to consider a rebuild on one that hasn't been thrashed is normal.
I've ripped the sidewall out of 2 BFG mud tyres, admittedly the old model ones. Mickey Thompsons are on now and I've never had a puncture and they seem invincible on steel rims.
unfortunately no Tyre is invincible, I got 5 years out of KM2 and pretty hard driving for play and touring never had a issue. Had 3 sidewall punctures in my KM3 in one trip but we had overall 14 punctures it was unforgiving terrain and every tyre suffered.
yea probably not we had two people I drive with every week running MTZ, and they eventually changed as to many issues. Nearly every trip a tyre of the bead with low pressure and a few stakes
@@AlloffroadAu Tyre off the bead can be the rim more often than not. I have actually heard of MTZ punctures, must make them too soft. I run ATZ's because MTZs are too soft for my purposes. Probably explains the stakes. That said I have never needed mud terrains to get anywhere that ATZ's couldn't get. Spoke to a dude today who did the sidewall on a KM today (didn't ask which variation) so BFG still hasn't fixed their weak sidewalls. I'm always open to better options but so far Coopers and BFG have been garbage.
yea agree with the rim, but he does not have the problem now with KM2, He will no move to Nittos as there are no KM3 in the Country till December. The experience vary so much BFG have worked tremendously well for me in 7 years of Touring and Playing I had 3 punctures in the same tire on the same trip thats it. Cooper where horrible I had STT, AT3 and ST Max for a short while.
2:15 Into the build and I already see that he has no idea. Tiny light bar up top, where you should put the largest, best spot and spread bar you can buy and two silly large round leds in the front blocking air flow. A slim low profile light bar in the front is much smarter.
lol while I agree with you in regards to the light bar, this car was used for work so sometimes stuff like lights where fitted at different stages and some for picture opportunities for the magazine he was working for.
Do like the KM3 tires, but wish they were listed at 35 inches and were 12.5 inches on a 8 inch wide wheel for 15/16's and 8.5 on 17's(shorter sidewall), wish that KM3's were not as short and narrow compared to a Maxxis Razr MT, because otherwise they are the ideal tire for moderate offroading/touring.
what do you think is this one of the best set up Nissan 4.2 (except battery system)? Let me know in the comments.

I just looked your battery up
Its got a super red hot sake going on $300 - 400 bucks off right now
yes and DCS can have the prices as they don't have retailers and distributors and the associated mark ups

I love seeing the touring rig setups and hearing first hand on what gear works and what doesnt. Thanks Stefan and thanks Scotty for sharing.👍👍👍
Our pleasure!
This is a beast and clearly used for what it’s been built for which is great to see.
thanks Jason
NICE. TD42 Patrol. The king.
Thanks Stephan for showing us a patrol. I absolutely love them and will build an overlander based on a 4.2td st-l version.
Right on!
What a well thought out and practical setup.
Good to see you giving the DCS batteries a go, still very happy with mine.
Yes my DCS are going strong so far seem to be great Batteries 🔋
Beauty of a patrol. Also, if you want more up travel, raise your shock towers or get a shorter shock so you dont hit the bump stop

Patrol is a better choice if you want reliability
@@AlloffroadAu Forsure, there's know doubt about it,I have a Patrol 4.2 diesel in the eye that I have booked, waiting for the write time 😄

It does!

I made the move to Lithium- never go back to AGM’s. The charge rate, constant volts and weight reduction is just awesome!!!

Reminds me of our old patrol quite a bit. Stay safe. Cheers Steve
Thanks Steve

Look into the superior adjustable shock range, can't fault them.
Awsome rig review what a beast
Awesome truck mate.
Thanks 👍, Scotty recently updated his electrical set up so it has become quite a bit better :-)
How many k's? Curious, most of the 4.2's are getting up there and I still want to purchase on for touring. Is 300k high?

If the suspension is well dialed in then do body lift. 1 inch should suffice

What is the weight of this vehicle? GVM upgrade necessary?
I'm not sure but pretty much every Touring 4wd will need a GVM upgrade.
Lift kit 3” inch or 4” inch?
what do you reckon is missing on Scotties Patrol?

My name on the Rego papers :)

You know what's missing Stef.. a fte conversion ..
A 4.5 cummins diesel 750nm DONK straight from the factory
باترول ♥️
More up travel you can just get raised shock towers
Scotty go see Mick from superior. Just go talk to him
What’s is the tire and rim sizes
35" not sure rim size 16 or17"
This a factory td4.2
Niceee
Thanks 🤗
I guess someone has to bring the kettle.😆
Nice rig otherwise.👍
Yet I've owned 4 running 20 psi and heat stays below half. Seems to be what the people who can't afford to buy one say.
Wenn du als deutscher sofort hörst das du deutscher bist/warst😂
lol ja der accent geht nicht weg
Sorry just saw the lights on the beach. One Rigid light bar like mine makes your entire light setup look like a joke.
