This is my first exposure to AJR. I've never heard of them. I immediately notice lyrically their writing sounds old school. They're telling stories not just rhyming random words. Their instrumentation & melodies almost sound spontaneous. They give me a Mika vibe. Kinda feels like eating fresh home cooked meals after eating fast food. The flavours. I feel refreshed. Have I gone too deep? I can't believe I wrote this....
As an ex AJR fan, let me tell you this is the start of something great. I can predict you’ll probably be listening to them on repeat until you can’t stand them anymore. Hope it’s fun, I sure had fun listening to them over the years haha
If you like those songs by them, I’d recommend listening to Humpty Dumpty, Joe, and Dear Winter. Also OK Overture is a really cool song that is made up of snippets of all the songs from that album.

In BANG! it isn’t autotune for the “here we go” and “metronome”! That’s the real voice of the man who does the train announcements like “mind the gap” and such in parts of America!
AJR stands for their names (Adam is the one with longest hair, Jack is the one wearing the hat, and Ryan is the one with glasses) also they are all brothers
They're actually extremely involved with the videos. The two younger brothers have degrees in filmmaking (the eldest Adam has a Bachlor's in business, a Master of the Arts degree, and a PHD). A good part of thier unique style and sound comes from the producer (Ryan) having Synesthesia, a condition which basically makes you SEE sounds.

He should really do a part 2, I swear every song is so creative and the production is always outstanding. Neotheater is my favorite album and I really like Break My Face.
They are actually their own producers. Ryan, the one with the glasses, the R in AJR, produces all of their songs (with help from his brother Jack, the lead singer) and they produce everything from their living room
Cool fact: the "here we go" and " metronome in bang was not auto tune. They got a bus driver to sing it for them. Bonus fact they record and produce in there living róom Edit: I know that it was a subway STOP CORRECTING MEEEEEEE
This is one of my fave bands. They got me through one of the toughest years of my life (this one). I developed really bad panic disorder last year and I got a tattoo that just says “I’m okay” (from break my face) to help me breathe through the anxiety and panic. I love every single song but my all time fave thus far is way less sad. Remember, when life gives you lemons, at least it gave you something 💜 (I am probably twice the age of the average fan and I’m okay with that 😊)
I love AJR so much, it's really cool to see people react to and enjoy their music, their albums Neotheater, The Click and OK Orchestra are all really good if you want to check them out :] Bummerland, BANG! and Way Less Sad are all from OK Orchestra and Burn The House Down is from The Click btw
It's also my first time listening to them...Someone mentioned them alongside Jon Bellion and I just decided to come check them out Thanks for doing this
You should definitely listen to some more AJR, their music is so fun and meaningful at the same time, they have such a fun vibe- Also fun fact, the “here we go” voice from BANG is the actual NYC Subway voice guy. Look up “AJR how we made bang live” SUPER cool video
AJR have a variety of themes in terms of their way of making music. I wish that you'll do a part 2. Here are some of my recommendations: 1) I'm Ready 2) Weak 3) 100 Bad Days 4) Dear Winter 5) Karma 6) My Play 6) Turning Out
Loved the reaction! I love their music, and have since the mid 2010s. They have an energy that’s just so fresh and unique. They always experiment with their music. Even in one of their videos, Ryan says “There’s a saying that we hear among songwriters a lot that a good song is 90% something you know and 10% something new. And that’s always felt kind-of uninspired to us. We really thought; Let’s do 20% something familiar, and 80% something you’ve never heard before.” For suggestions, I highly recommend: - Joe (from OK Orchestra) - I’m Not Famous (from The Click) - Weak (from The Click) - Karma (from Neotheater) - Turning Out (from The Click) - Dear Winter (from Neotheater) I threw those in with not particular order XD . Looking forward to seeing more of you, my man!
I'd definitely recommend role models, christmas in june and dear winter, since there are some of my favourites and they also have music videos. for some songs without music videos, I'd go with karma, don't throw out my legos, break my face, Joe and adventure is out there. Edit: forgot about the entertainments here and ordinary-ish people
very late, but fun fact, in Bang! it's not autotune, they got the same guy who did vocals for the new york subway network automated announcements to do the vocals like "metronome", "Here We Go", etc, just a fun snippet!
Someone else probably already said this but i'd highley suggest listening to World's Smallest Violin if you ever decide to do a part two! Awesome video btw!:D
You should 100 percent check out Christmas in June by them. It’s so good. Also whenever it comes out; I Won’t. As of now it’s not out yet but it will be later this week. Great video
I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned, but the guy who said “Here we go!” In Bang! Was the NY subway announcer guy. Also highly recommend the live performances! They’re full on productions with special effects and acts!!
It would be great if you could listen to even more your reactions are amazing and you express so much emotion I’m so glad I found you! I would listen to their song joe and burn the house downs live performance

They do have loads of great songs though and are by far my favourite musical artists. I also have to ask, are you planning to do a part 2 at any time? I would love to see that.
