AMEN SISTA!!! My heart goes out to this precious, wounded soul, believe me. But I didn't get to where I am today by riding on another's coattails & hoping somehow to be transformed. I've been in some form of therapy (a WIDE range in addition to psychotherapy) since I was 22 years of age. I'm now 70, & still working with a healer. I've also attended Radical Forgiveness workshops through Unity Church, & sought a graduate degree in family counseling. So I've made every effort possible to improve my life skills, & the quality of my life. I did not emanate from money, so this has been costly to say the least. But who can possibly put a numeric value on personal actualization, empowerment & contentment? Plus, this work graced me to be in a loving relationship of 22 years which would never have been possible otherwise. SO, onward & upward! You read my story clearly . My ex had mother and probably father wounds. I could see them , similar to my own. I tried to provide a safe and healing space for him to work his stuff out like I had mostly but it only catagorized me as “mother” or therapist and all his physical attraction vanished. It was hard to not take that personally. It hurt…again so I cut my losses and detached myself. Great insight you have as a reader. Specifics to help see the truth. Thank you.
