Slater, Inglis, Cronk, Thurston, Smith, Hodges, Boyd. Whatever team you support, you have to admit that that QLD team from that period was full of champions.

@@joneh9483 NSW still have the best players on paper, they do every year. What NSW have struggled to do most years is to adapt their players into a real team, QLD seem to do it better. Remember a team full of reserve graders toppled the cream OF NSW and Australia.
@@cameronhesketh6814 In recent times (2017+) I agree with you, but there was not a single NSW team that was better on paper during QLD's 8 year domination. That QLD team was just incredible on paper and in practice.
Boyd sucks. Most overrated player ever. IMO the best QLD backline of that era was Tate, Hodges, Inglis & Folau.

I'm a Qld supporter and I have always said that David Klemmer was way better than Woods
They were playing well back then. NSW are always guilty of loafing around, the 1 percenters is what QLD are traditionally better at, attention to detail. Any loose ball on the deck its pounced on, invariably by a QLD'er, its always the blues forwards loafing around at the back watching the ball, walking back when they should be running and getting back on side.
How on god’s green earth was Merrin’s knock on not called?

Game 3 2015 and Game 1 2021 were absolute floggings and great to rub it into fans of the other state but close tense games are better

Well he was a winger, most of them don't do much other than score tries or let tries in
Best QLD backline was Tate, Hodges, Inglis and Folau (who obviously left rather early). The rest of the centres/wingers aren't worth mentioning. Yea, Boyd sucks. Completely overrated player. Anyone could've done the same job as him on the wing. He basically lived off Inglis's linebreaks.
