I have a purebred red merle cardigan corgi. Hes amazing. The breeder was an actual responsible breeder that cares for her dogs like crazy. I am so lucky.
Corgis can be mixed with Dachshunds to create Dorgis of which the queen owned some. They also make wonderful dogs mixing the best traits of both breeds.
Corgis can also mistake small children’s feet for sheep so they’ll nip at them (this is most found in corgi puppies, they’ll stop doing it a lot as they grow older) Corgis don’t do well in 2-stories because of their back and hip problems. If they jump a lot that will cause some health issues in the future. If they are trying to get up the stairs, carry them to the top or to the bottom. And also ramps need to be placed everywhere around your house to not make your corgi have trouble getting up on high places. Also teach your corgi puppy to use the ramps so they get used to it and adapt. Corgis will do anything that’s Involved with food like literally anything so that gives them a strict diet There is a color type of a corgi called a Cowboy Corgi (They have blue Merle color and this can be found in both 2 types of Welsh Corgis) And lastly, the internet believes that corgis are officially couch potatoes. When in reality, that is not true at all. They also need 1-hour of exercise every day at-least. There are even corgi races around the world which proves that they are fast dogs in small bodies. (I don’t have a corgi yet but I have researched everything about them from many other types of corgi owners and websites) I LOVE CORGIS!! *i forgot about one last thing about them whoops Corgis have a double coat which makes them shed A LOT all-year long. But it’s worth it, they give you and your house a corgi glitter makeover lol
