Yes very relatable! Can you link that red toy in the video? It looks like you can stick a bone in it? I need this for my corgi. She ate a remote yesterday 😂 she’s absolutely like a child. And sneaky bc she stole and destroyed 2 pairs of slippers in 1 week lol

Definitely relatable, especially their sneaky personalities! My corgi is only 7 months old but she is FAR from cuddly. The only times I get anything close to cuddles is when we’re “hugging” but she’s just attacking my hair bun haha. I will say her face is very very expressive, like more expressive than usual. She’s got these crazy bug eyes that I love😂 on a side note, when did your corgi reach adult weight? My girl is barely 18lbs and she’s long but not bulky like that, so I’m just wondering :)

😂😂😂Oh my goodness... I wish I'd seen this 12 yrs ago... I actually have a chigi but the corgi personality is definitely the dominant in him... When you mentioned the "infamous side eye," I almost fell over: I had no idea this was a breed trait...Piolo is always giving me the side eye when he's mad at me or embarrassed by me😂😂 Now I understand why he would "referee" my other dogs. He was actually trying to herd them when they'd run crazy... Thank you so much for sharing this 💕🐕😂

Corgi cat is a thing. Our Chester is always launching himself up and downstairs (bad for his spine, we know) to include furniture. He'll jump up and park his kiester on the top backrest portion of the couch and just balance-chill there. Then he'll try to sidle over or climb on our shoulders like a parrot. Having a Corgi for almost 14 years was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. These little guys are sweet, smart, and fun, but absolutely not for pushovers. Corgis are incredibly perceptive which makes them next-level smart. Yes, they absolutely want your approval if that gets them what they want, but they'll test the rules in every way you can think of (and many you won't) if they think they can get away with it. Corgis that know you're as smart and perceptive as they are will respect you. Just remember, when it comes to discipline, these dogs were bred to herd cattle. Set boundaries, be clear, and use positive reinforcement over punishment; they will not back down from a bully.

He is also the biggest pudding pop I've ever seen, everything scares him then he comes to me crying. There is a whole dramatic episode of him crying and me telling him it's ok. He actually sounds like he's sobbing and ranting to me.

We have had 5 corgis and only one has not been a cuddler. Our 5 month old tri loves to cuddle. We have found all of our corgis to be very adaptable but they are also strong willed. As a corgi owner you must be consistent, loving but firm at times so they know you are head of their pack. Corgis love their walks and you should really walk them several times each day. Ours gets walked 3 times a day and you would think he wore a watch because he can tell you when it is time to walk and when it is time to eat. They are great with our grandchildren! Love them!

My Corgi, Reggie, is a 100% cuddler, when he wants to, when he is done with me he just moves away. Food: TOTAL food slut. Reggie, as well as the other two Corgi's we had is very sensitive, and protective. When my wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Reggie would not leave her side, and was very protective when the hospice people would come, he would check them out, but not leave the room. When she passed, he lost his appetite, and became very depressed, just sits in his chair staring out the window waiting for her to come home. It is so heartbreaking. Sorry to go on about this, but we are still trying to get over our loss. He loved doggie day care, so I will have to take him there at least couple times a week to try to get him back to some form of of normality.
Something about Corgi's that was not mentioned is they SHED, constantly, all of those double coated little guys do this, and you will forever be vacuuming, sweeping and brushing Corgi fur off of everything, so, be warned. But to me it is a small price to pay to have, in my opinion, such a great little friend.

Totally right about their intuition for bad things. Mine went nuts one walk, and it was odd enough for me to follow. We found an older teen guy with a little crying girl going down a trail that I knew led to nowhere. We followed, because it looked wrong in every way. We walked awhile, and the guy finally turned around... we followed them back to the apartment complex, where the girl ran in another direction. We followed her to make sure she got home, but I am sure my corgi legit thwarted something really bad. I miss him every day.

Our Corgi, Gotrek, is really cuddly. He's 10 weeks old now and we have to be really consistent with him. Breeder said that he was the most intelligent and cunning puppy in his litter and we started learning selfcontrol right away when we bring him home. Now he's a little calmer - we have him about a week so he's starting to learn some rules in our house. This weekend we are going for the first walks after vaccines (still have to be one done, but we dont have to let go of socialization. We only have to remember that he can't play with other unknown dogs). Maybe this calms him more (ofc walks with running and learning - both phisical and mental stimulation is obligatory for this lovely croquette)

Hes also so talkative and makes different noises for different things, and kinda does a super low woof when he wants to go out for wees at night.
Hes so cuddly though and sleeps in the bed under the covers with us.

Corgis are such fun! They have very different personalities, but are always very self-aware! Our Rusty was ball crazy. He would play fetch 24/7, if you wanted to. Gwen would watch the ball and give you the look... you threw it, you fetch it! LOL! Gwen was a Queen and she knew it... the entire vet office would come to a halt whenever she went there, to pay her homage! She used to give a single bark and Gus would run to and fro, trying to figure out what she was barking about... Gwen would have the most satisfied smug smile on her face! Gus was our lover boy. He wanted you to be always with in his sight and preferably with a paw touching. He did not want to be picked up or sit on your lap, but just be by your side. Corgis are the best!!

You basically described my corgi, Atlas. He’s a 5 months tricolor puppy, who has a lot of energy and personality. He loves talking and communicating, definitely tells us when he wants/likes/dislikes something. He can eat anything that is on his reach. We have to be very careful about it. His diet consists of raw food and organic treats, some of those made by my wife herself. His sense of personal space is inexistent and the closest he is to our face, the happiest he is. He is the biggest fiddler ever. We take naps together all the time and he loves when it is play time. Completely obsessed with chasing tennis balls. Oh, and he loves humans too. At the dog park he goes to everyone’s legs to get pets. Little attention whore 🤣 I love him so much!

Our corgi is a fan of personal space. She prefers her own bed, often sleeps behind the chair during the day, and god forbid you try to touch her with your foot or pet her when she’s sleeping. But when she’s in a cuddly mood, it’s so so sweet :) Then she climbs into a beanbag with me or falls asleep with her head in my lap. It’s better than sitting in front of a fireplace.
BTW, we live in the north, and her fur is just amazing in the winter. She prefers to stay outside in the snow all day long (if only we didn’t have to go home!)

He prefers to sleep in the bed with dad but he most often sleeps at the foot of the bed. Though I’ve noticed when it’s cooler in the room he cuddles more. He loves to play with and cuddle with our older German shepherd. She kind of became his adopted mom from the first day we brought him home as a puppy.

The other was always too on-the-go to cuddle unless she was SUPER tired and it's only as she's reaching 11 or 12 years old that she's starting to snuggle up to me on the sofa. He will climb up on me and lick my ear to get my attention if I’m working or gaming, which he knows I hate but he does it anyways because it’s effective. Lol. He talks to me when he wants to go on walks or to play with my neighbor’s dogs. He is an extrovert that loves meeting people and dogs.
I’ve had lots of dogs, but never one with so much personality, smarts and charm.

Oh and Corgi #3 is arriving in June. Living on a sheep farm gives them ample exercise!
    Wonderful video, thanks.

Everything is sooo accurate! We have had our Corgi since July, she was 2 1/2 months and all that you said is totally true.
Although ours is not that cuddlish, she loves to play and she demands for scratchings.
    Thanks and greetings from Germany!

My corgi is a cuddler (as long as it’s not too hot) but my breeder said she was probably the most cuddly corgi she had raised!

I have a corgi his names Oscar! He just turned 2 in June. He was very high energy as a puppy and not as cuddly but now he is the cuddliest dog I have ever had, he’s the perfect mix of playful/cuddly & he used to be so vocal but just recently he’s started talking instead of barking. He sleeps between me and my boyfriend at night with his head on our pillows!

Very entertaining and informative look at life with a Corgi. I've been owned by Corgis for almost 40 years (& 20+ years as a dog trainer), and I agree with almost everything in this video. As noted in the video, there's variation between individuals and every Corgi has her own personality. But you've given prospective and new Corgi owners a great snapshot of what it's like to have a Corgi in your family -- and sharing your life with a Corgi (or 2!) will keep you laughing. As a trainer, my 2 favorite breeds to work with were Corgis and Goldens.

Just recently lost my 12-year-old Corgi to cancer and she was the light of my life! I’ve had lots of dogs in my life, but she was the best. In spite of some common issues, I’m sure I will get another Pembroke Corgi when I am ready. Great videos!

Awesome video! Corgis are the BEST!!! We've had two, and both were great. The first was a "cuddler" but we got him when he was a puppy, while we rescued the second at age 8. Another thing I'd add is that they are great with children - given their breeding tendencies, they are extremely protective of small children. All of the the points you raise are on the money, and your corgi is a real cutie!

This is hilarious. Almost identical to Theta, my Corgi. The only difference would be the cuddle factor. She’s super cuddly when she wants to be. I used to call her a cat/dog because she would go off and do her own thing. Or climb on my and be like “Hooman, cuddles now”. Which all feeds into “they know what they want and go for it” 😂😂. This is an extremely accurate description 💯!!

I have four. Was five; my Nami passed last week (and yes, I’m devastated). All of mine are/were cuddlers, but only when I’m petting them. My oldest sleeps on my bed, but not touching me. Nami would, as well. My boys jump off the bed or couch or whatever when I stop petting them, but stay right next to the bed or on or under my feet. My boys seem to REALLY like feet!

Oh also I appreciate this video because it’s important people understand how high energy they are instead of just getting them for their cute butts or great smiles. They’re somewhat high maintenance dogs especially if you have a long one like I do and he can’t go up stairs but you have stairs. But they’re a great breed.

Our corgi is still a pup (about 7 months) and she is a good girl but shes SO sassy! She will cuddle if the temperature is cooler in our bedroom while we sleep. However she’s slowly started to give these loong and amazing cuddles whenever we get back from work. Probably the friendliest dog I know.

  • @Priscynoob

My corgi Eevee does all this!!! Even the routine with food and the ninja sneaky! She even every now and then try’s to eat her brothers food when he hasn’t eaten yet. Lol but wished you spoke more about how to maintain their shedding, my corgi is the first dog that sheds and I still haven’t accepted I’ll always have dog hair everywhere...
Also agreed about the community! We are always connected! And my corgi Eevee is not cuddly but she is turning 3 now and is cuddly towards me but not with my husband, but she choose when she wants to cuddle.
