The stage was set for the marquee contest. Two of cricket’s best playing nations in this world cup were facing off. Rohit, while he was batting, made the wicket look pretty easy paced which was not the case as subsequent batters realised. Birthday boy and GOAT, Virat Kohli, was due for a century as he was unfortunate to miss it on the last few occasions. Once the shine was off, the ball began to grip and hold making batters more circumspect. The accurate Maharaj enjoyed a respect not usually given to other spinners by Kohli and Iyer thanks to the nature of the pitch.
When it was time for the SA’s batters to take centre stage, they were all at sea against India’s marauding quicks. Once the SA’s batters were nicely softened and primed for the kill, they were presented to India’s spin duo for further dissection of their batting skills. Bro Sachin batted at no.5 and no.6 till 1994 , he almost played 95 matches till that point. Sachin also played at no. 4 for some months between 1999 to 2004 . So, that's the main reason for Sachin to reach 49 centuries at slower rate than Kohli.

Actually Points to note that Tendulkar was batting at 4th-5th Position during the early days of his career. He debuted in the year 1989 against Pakistan and his 1st century scored in 1994 against Australia at Colombo in a traingular series. He started playing in opening position in Newzealand searies in Auckland understand Azhar's captaincy. From then he started scoring centuries frequently.

I am still a fan of AB Devilliers, and think if AB had started early and stayed longer with similar passion for cricket like Indians have, he would have done wonders beyond what he did, there was a time when AB was consistently ranked at 1 and Kohli at 2, but Kohli has surpassed it all in the long run, no doubt!

Records are meant to be broken and one thing people forget , In Sachin's era the game was bowler friendly with India having one of the the weakest bowling line ups . They always had to chase big totals or score bigger than par to win games . Right now India's fast bowlers are Elite and probably the most dangerous in the world.
