  • Theorem I
    The change in slope between the tangents drawn to the elastic curve at any two points A and B is equal to the product of 1/EI multiplied by the area of the moment diagram between these two points.
    Theorem II
    The deviation of any point B relative to the tangent drawn to the elastic curve at any other point A, in a direction perpendicular to the original position of the beam, is equal to the product of 1/EI multiplied by the moment of an area about B of that part of the moment diagram between points A and B.

    @10:09 why is the moment digram by parts of Ma -10. isnt is supposed to be 10 hence the moment in parts is in the upper part of the graph.

      The sign of moment depends on which direction (upward is positive and downward is negative) for the beam bends relative to your moment centre. @10:09 the moment centre is point B and Ma causes the beam to bend downward about point B.

      dahil po yan sa load, kung mag reverse ang direction ng load, magreverse din ang rotation moment.

      -2 is obtained from 4 kN/m uniform load x 1 m length of the uniform load x 0.5 m the moment arm of the uniform load from point B.
