Oh, I made something similar with clay from aroud my mountain house. I made a little candleholder, looks so much like yours with just some little holes for the light to shie through, and a little statue for my mom. I made them in 2020 and they are both still holding together - same method, with firing them in my fireplace:) Really love your videos, the art in them and the patience and attention to detail. They always make my day:)
I will try these fire starters, great idea!! Love your videos, ,the delicious cooking ( very much my kind of food) and all your abundant crafting ideas. Love the embroidery messages to been seen and reminded of. I must say you are one of my very favourite TH-camr 🙂
Your channels is so magnificent! Thank you so much for the amazing quality that goes into these videos, there all absolute masterpieces, im sure its so much work but its greatly appreciated!
Happy to see a new episode 🐾 ( i decided to take care of my grandpa old house ; you have truly inspired me with your poetical and very creative videos,: thank You very much 💖🌻🍀)
Always A thick blanket of new snow Has come today And hides away the season’s wear Painting it’s beauty on the scenery The sound of my steps is made quiet And in the deep covering My prints seem to follow behind Ghostly record on the unsullied ground I walk alone But the past walks with me The lane underneath buried Knows my feet And will not let me forget For I have tread here before Snow with or without My wandering From you - to you For you Always
when the squirls pick up the hazel nut shells they feel too light to have meat in side them. so they toss them aside and say "im not taking empty shells home that would be nuts"
Collect the lichen off theses logs you bought in for dying with if it was lichen Try rake firing your clay pot if you don’t know what rake is you fire it in a pit with leaves etc to give the colour of the glazes it is really beautiful . Have you seen “Sarah swett” blogs she is a natural spinner ( loves using milkweed) that she collects in the wild and weaving with coffee filters etc tapestry weaving a lot just one word at a time , she use’s a back strap loom to make her clothes and knits her own jumpers as well from her spun yarn much as you are doing , thought of her when you talked about putting words on your scarf. Beautiful video again but froze when you were out in that backless dress in the snow.
It is so exciting to think that you could make ceramics in your woodstove. As far as I know it is absolutly possible. Only you need to glaze the baked klay when you like yo rrally seal it for usage.
Your videos are truly soothing my soul. I really like the poesy in it. By the way, have you thought of using your wood stove to make a slow cooking with your stew ?
Being cold is just the most miserable thing for me, one of the reasons I left the UK. If I want to see snow, I'll visit it for a short while. I never get sick of warm sunny days, contrary to the opinions of everyone still in crappy climates!
8:40 well the squirrels probably can smell the nuts or the lack of. What we can do is feel the weight, the empty ones are of course lighter. Also what we ran into was some kind of worm eating the nuts before us but those left behind tiny black entry holes, and i didnt see similar ones in your shots. PS. you could try to burn the shell for some extra fuel :)
I love the way this gives a window into the world of these animals, now I'm imagining them checking each hazelnut and considering if it's good or not 😆 🐿️
Wonderful video:).. bean/veggie stew 😊.. Your fire starters are a great idea and the wood burning stove looks super cozy but I am guessing it’s a lot of work even just emptying the ash.. Hmmm never occurred to me to try and make something from the clay soil on our land..

Everything beautiful.❤
Always
A thick blanket of new snow
Has come today
And hides away the season’s wear
Painting it’s beauty on the scenery
The sound of my steps is made quiet
And in the deep covering

Ghostly record on the unsullied ground

But the past walks with me
The lane underneath buried
Knows my feet
And will not let me forget
For I have tread here before
Snow with or without
My wandering
From you - to you
For you
Always
You make such exquisite films. A true eye of the artist leant to the lens.

The squirrels know from the weight of the shell if it’s empty or not.
This must be the answer but I find it too amazing to believe! 😄
Maybe the squirrels just shake them 🐿️
