I am a medical student & i never thought Ayush would make a movie about The hardest decision in Medical student,s life if he should choose gyneco as a career even after getting selected. although i am not an intern yet but this confusion is so much relatable. Sometime we think why read these that we can't even properly operate. :>
Don't even think of taking gynae if you aim to practise in India....
Even in first world countries like US male gyanaecologist find it difficult to get patients....
Yeah , during my internship in gynaecology dept. me and other male interns were either just sitting in the office or outside patients room because patients were uncomfortable with us being in the exam room , pretty chill rotation tho mostly just paperwork 😀

abhi patients cannot demand what they want in medical colleges we did our internship in gynaecology a doctor is a doctor and if someone finds uncomfortable our head mam scolded them to go to private hospital we cannot treat ..that’s what we faced during that time
As a female medical student who sees my male peers suffering in this field, this movie was so on point and my heart goes out to them.
My mom is a gynaecologist , I can relate to this movie a lot
Ayushmann is back. The only guy in Bollywood who dares to take roles no one else can, and gives a totally different perspective of the society through their eyes. Be it impotent, guy with lady voice, or male gynecologist. Eagerly waiting for this film ❤

I'm a doctor preparing for pg currently. So in my internship i really liked ortho but even the SR in ortho told me to rather think about ophthalmology because I'm a girl. Even general surgery for that matter. The patient for some reason trusts a male surgeon more than a female surgeon. Branches are stereotyped, it's a fact.
We had 2 male gynae in our institute and one of them was so good and famous that females actually came asking for him but at the same time there were people who were not comfortable with a male examining a female, patient and relatives alike.
It happens.

I had a Assistant professor in OBGYN who was a man. Actually 2 men.
One was always grouchy, his entire demeanor made everyone instantly aware that he was doing it because he had to, not because he takes any pleasure (perverse or otherwise) from his work.
The other was a very soft spoken man, who rarely if ever got angry and one of the best teachers i have had the pleasure to study under.
Ayushman is so good with taking scripts. ⭐
I can totally co-relate, the clinical rotation and internship was weird enough during my mbbs days, can’t imagine doing my residency in obs & gynaec. Thank goodness i got into general surgery or life would have been extra stressful besides the already stressful it is in surgery. I’m sure only a medic will actually understand the stress, can’t imagine it from the outside.

Everyone has their own experiences but according to mine..male doctors take best care of female patients and female doctors take best care of male patients..
i have couple of female friends who had been roughly handled by female doctors but they had pleasant experience with male doctors...and i personally prefer female doctors because they understand my problems better ..
Opposite sex doctors offer new perspectives which the same sex doctor may lack because for him/her that body part is taken for granted since they too have them..its just my feeling.. there's no right or wrong about it and lastly doctors are doctors and they shouldn't be associated with genders ..😊😊😊😊🇮🇳
I have seen both rude male and female doctors. And caring male and female doctors as well.
@@archiem654 Yeah i agree..but what I meant was that those rude doctors are a little less rude when they deal with patients of opposite sex..
For example, in school we all know that subconsciously,male teachers are biased towards female students and female teachers are more biased towards male students.. exceptions are always there but this is how it generally works..we are wired in that way..
@@rzzzcena23 nah... never felt that way. Have had sweetest female doctors. And rudest male doctors. Most probably its just a bias we ourselves have.
Bro i think u didn't understand for an average guy a male doc is more comfortable & for average girls a female doc is more preferable but doesn't mean there are not exceptions plus i think when opposite sex doc treats their patients i am assuming that 'they have to' be more careful & understanding while on the other hand same sex doc know about both from the medical education & the personal experience while that's not the case with opposite sex as they lack personal experience, so in my opinion same sex doc is better but in emergency or for people who don't mind it's good 👍
@@takemichi6870 no i am saying its just a bias we ourselves have. Everything that doesnt match an opinion is exception? I have been to hospitals my whole life. I have visited almost every hospital in my city and even few in other cities. The only rude people in hospitals, in general, are nurses. And they are rude to everyone 😅 the two sweetest doctors i met were ladies. One for allergies and one gynae... in fact, my own personal bias is that male doctors are more arrogant. But i dont go around publishing my opinion as fact, since i know its *just* my own experience and bias.

I work in obstetrics and gynecology department as a junior resident doctor in a government hospital but i never faced objection from my patients except for once or twice
It's i guess instinctive to prefer doctor of the same gender.. but the movie also suggests the same, i guess, that the doctors first have to be comfortable with whatever they are doing.. only then can the patients appreciate their touch/ take on the issue.. secondly, being a doctor myself, having completed my Gynae posting during internship, i have noticed, it's totally upto me to calm the patient down, talk to her, explain what i m doing..it takes time to build that trust, but just an eye contact is sometimes enough.. the society has to understand in the end that we are doctors.. we know a little more of the human anatomy n physiology than avg PPL and we are sort of trained to keep the emotions in check and just work on the patient..
P.S. jaby, your condition is indeed normal.. don't worry much about it.. consult a doc if it pains while peeing though..
I have had both male and female gynacs. Didn't feel uncomfortable with either. Also the nurses are always there. Also they are so professional that it doesn't feel so weird once you get over your first time.

I used to go to female gynecologist but they are so rude and so harsh. I always heard that the male gynecologist are more careful and I get it now, when I went to my first male gynecologist I was so nervous and uncomfortable but he was so careful and so respectful, which I have never experienced with my female gynos before. And now I’m only going to him

I am right now in this position, i can get both surgery and Obs gynae ,but i am from North India here it is taboo for being a Male gynaec ,in South and west India there is no such problem. Thoigh i want to be a surgeon .

I can relate so bad with this movie.
Also people just expect you to like gynaecology just coz you are a woman. Nah not my thing.
Also I've seen some amazing male gynaecologists, they are much more rational in making decisions while women might sway as they can "feel the pain".
Wow watching this trailer i have come to realize that Sri Lanka is way ahead of most of these countries because the best gynecologists in Sri Lanka are males. I haven't even heard of any female gynecologists who are famous in Sri Lanka.

I got operated by a male gynae twice. And hes currently the best gynae in my city.
India has more male gynac but in rural areas it has been made as a taboo. But I feel male gynac are good and sensitive towards women body.

I'm in prison medical dispensary and there are lots of prisoners with "private part problem" and we have female doctor so i have to see their private part and tell the doctor about it, and I'm not even a nurse , I'm a laboratory technician who learned all about blood urine stool test , now I'm doing this 😂😅

I have a feeling many guys have had the problem Jaby was talking about at one time or another. When I realised it was happening with me, I began to take a few extra seconds to ensure that I had emptied my bladder before zipping up. And it helped. Thankfully, it wasn't symptomatic of anything bad.

Doctors treat patients body parts like machine. If it were a machine i don't think we would think whether it's make or female engineer. They spend a good part of their curriculum studying it objectively. On the empathy part tho...hmmm! Women think a women will understand them better especially during delivery of the baby etc. But over years I've realised again that is just dependent on who you are as a person. If you have it...you do..if you don't..you just don't. And as a patient i think that's what we seek desperately more than expertise. EMPATHY. Huge fan of ayushman just for the great choices of movie he makes. He ventures into the unspoken!
