    Good initiative. These filters are not really required. Using cloth to filter out the dust and leaves is more than enough cause the water inside the well will always be slightly dirty than rainwater flowing off rooftop in a monsoon. In the Well there will be poop of frogs and fish which is not there in rain water. By using the existing filters you are capturing just 1/4th or 10% of rain because the filters cannot handle the large quantity of rainwater and creates bottleneck. This excess water is what you call "waste" water. This so called "waste" water once the sediment settles is much safer and purer than municipality supplied water. Actually the cost of the filters could be more than the pipes and you will have to keep changing filters every monsoon. Using single piece of cloth/kerchief to filter is best as you can wash it every day very easily.

    was wondering about how exactly did you fix the part where the filtering happens, and the unnecessary waste is filtered down. Living away from one's native place it felt so refreshing to be reminded of home when one see videos like this. Thanks for sharing a beautiful video. - Bindu P V

    Hi... Initially i used 2/4th pipe with gravel and another 2/4 with charcoal of coconut shell... but this was later removed... reason being during heavy down pour this mixture prevented heavy water inflow and filter lid came out blasting the pipe... so currently this filter is empty so that there is an easy flow of water and just has a net mesh to avoid dry leaves or other particles entering the well..

      Hi.. there is a program named Mazhapolima which is run by State government... Please search the name 'mazhapolima' in google and you will find a pdf where you can see different methods for rain water harvesting... I think since there is no well in ur village it will be better to build a tank depending upon ur budget.

      I think you can dig apx 5 to 6 feet soil and fill it by pebbles & sand. This pit will suck flowing water and will increase ground water level.
      It can be done anywhere to increase water level.

  • @meher9608

    You have an open well. Leaves are anyway going to fall into it.
    Then why do you need filters.
    Let the rainwater flow with full force into the well.

    Nice initiative. I too would like to do the same however I need your help to understand how filtering is done. Or, can be buy filters directly from the store??

    • @raksuncreations6848
      @raksuncreations6848  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      TheSmokinGunn Hi, the filter is not necessary as exhaust pipe that goes to the ground will remove larger particle and second one will remove much smaller ones... Initally filter was made manually with reducer which is normally available in hardware shops.. but the last filter that goes to well is NOT recomended.. Reason being when you fill it with 1/3 rd of gravel and coconut shell charcoal... it will clog the pipe line in heavy rain and filter used to busrt... Also please keep in mind the well recharging shown in this video is ideal for less polluted green areas... For more info kindly check in google for a pdf named Mazapolima which is a Kerala state govt article and I was inspired by one of their metods.

    Any way the rain water will be accumulated in the well even if it fell into the ground what is the purpose of pouring it directly to the well.the water is not stored.

      But it will need to make a seperate underground tank to channelise water in to the ground so this is a better option

    • @raksuncreations6848
      @raksuncreations6848  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, If you look at the video you will notice that there is a split connector that divides the pipe that goes to the ground as exhaust so that even in heavy rain the pressure of the water do not bust the line and 2/3rd of water goes to well.. also the waste water naturally sweeps in through natural orifice.

      Hi Prakash
      Thank you for ur msg
      The first filter pipe which has an opening valve is just to remove small particle that surpassed the exhaut line and this filter is empty. As a trial and error method I had to make certain changes.
      I will upload a new video to clarify this as early as possible.

      Hi... both filters pipes are empty .. which is build by connecting reducer pipes on both sides..for vertical one with the tap is to remove small particles where rain water fills in it and for the horizontal filter initially we added charcoal but then it clogged the pipe during heavy rain... so now i have used a fiter cloth to this filter pipe opening to avoid leaves and othe debris entering directly into the well.. i will upload a new video for more clarity
