I feel so much better knowing Im not the only one that stashes and loses things in the sewing room! Dont we all need 16 pens hanging around the sewing room? One for every notebook!! Great to see you again! I miss you!!’❤
Thanks so much for watching and I have to report the sewing table is as disorganised today as it was then! I just love the bum bag, it saves a lot of searching time believe me. Happy Sewing 🧵😊
My sewing/cutting table is very neat at the moment (and most of time) because I have a desk that’s supposed to be for Marianne and there’s always a MOUNTAIN of stuff on that one 🤣 My poor daughter literally has to room to craft in here anymore!! Xx 💞
I didn't doubt for one minute that your sewing table would be perfectly organised and tidy!! We are so alike in some ways and definitely not in others 🤣. I am not sure I could share my sewing space with anyone anymore. Katie did go through a spate of sewing those Disney ears in my room....what a mess that was! So, are you going to show us your sewing table?! Hope you had an amazing birthday 😘💗🥳
Sticky dots for wrong side! Perfect! I’m having that thank you very much Carole 🥰😍 oh the pens 🤣🤣🤣 I have that problem too 😁 that was lighthearted fun to watch 😁
Thanks so much Julie, all those pens found their way to a mug in the end BUT what I didn't do is check they all work 🤣🤣. Those sticky dots save my skin all the time, even when I think I will know instantly the right and wrong sides I plastered them on just in case! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
I have the same problem, Carole! I am terrible at piling up stuff on my cutting table. Just today I started a new project and I had to clear off my table first. It’s so strange, I lose things all the time and most of the time they are right under my nose! You are not alone and you are in good company. Great video, I loved it!
Sue, when I got that table I vowed to keep it clear of clutter....fail! So much so now I retreat back to the dining room table to cut out. I lose things too and I always blame my Sewing Room Poltergeist! Maybe you have one too? Thanks so much for watching as always 🧵😊
I love the idea of using sticky dots for fabric that is hard to tell the right from the wrong side of. Thank you so much for the idea as I have tons of sticky dots! Happy sorting!😊
Thanks so much for watching. I have mentioned the sticky dots a few times and everyone seems to approve. Don't be like me though and try to remember to take them off when you finish something. I have worn them out in public before 🤣. Have a great week 🧵😊
What fun lots of surprises you found i go into melt down if I can't find anything sooo I really try to put things back as my space is small im in the middle of batch cutting out for winter happy sewing 😊😊😊
I go crazy as well, those pencils I have looked for for so long! Why on earth did I put them there? Batch cutting for Winter, that sounds intriguing. Really we should all be sewing a couple of seasons ahead, the stores seem to always sell a different season 🤣. Happy Cutting! 🧵😊
Yay! Another slightly disorganised person like me. Someone has said the more creative we are the messier we are so I am happy with that! Have a great week 🧵😊
Carole, I always have 2 projects on my sewing table. It's the messiest part of my room as it should be. I like your piglet pack for tools! Great idea. I have a bag that Lara made for me that hangs at the end of my table. Lara made me fabric pattern weights similar to yours. I can't live without those the sticky dots!! LOL 🤣🤣🤣 Notebook is a MUST too. I always find long lost notions when cleaning! This was fun to watch you go thru your sewing surprises! 💖💖
Hi Grace! Normally I would always have projects scattered on it but because I've been away everything was done and dusted. I thought it would be more fun to show the bits and pieces rather than my projects which I would show in a normal video 🤣. It was the perfect time for me! Those pattern weights are handy to hold things down when I have the window open. Thanks so much for watching and would love to see a video from you as you are way more organised!! 😘❤️
Happy Belated Birthday🎉 Can’t wait to see your gifts on Friday sews. I usually tidy up my table at the end of the day. I just can’t function with things every where. I have lots of cubbies and containers to hide things however and even with that I loose things and spend time hunting. I use to have a much larger sewing space with lots of cabinets and closets but we have sized down so I have to really keep it under control. Moving really makes you scale back. See you Friday!
Hi Kathleen. thanks so much for watching this video which I know wasn't the norm! I do tidy a little after I sew I promise but I am also so excited for the next project to start 👏🏼. I can imagine the smaller the space the neater you need to be, as my space has expanded it hasn't got more organised as I had hoped it would. Hope you have a good week and see you Friday. 🧵😊
How fun! I'm on vacation now, but I know my sewing table is covered with a lot of stuff...we just moved to a new house and I've unpacked some things but still have lots of boxes.! I'll share in next week's video.
You have the perfect reason to be slightly disorganised, I don't really! How exciting though to have a new Sewing room. Can't wait to see your video next week. Enjoy your holiday! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Hi Carole! Look at all the stuff you found in that basket!! LOLOLOL...now where are you going to put it all? I think the only place I've ever seen a nice, cleaned off sewing table is in my sewing classes. Happy Sewing!
I think if a sewing room is tidy and perfect then it can't ever be used! I am in mine every day doing something or other and try as I might, I am just not a tidy person 😂. Most of the time I know where every thing is ....apart from all my lost items in that trug! Hope you are well and thanks so much for stopping by 💗😘
OMG, I spent the morning trying to clean and organize my sewing room. So many of the things you pulled out of that basket were things i was putting away. I found so many notebooks. I pulled out at large box of patterns to put some away and it fell apart. Now there are patterns all over the floor. My hubbie fixed the box to I'm going back upstairs to finish the job. I would love my super organized sister to come over and help make my room super efficient but i worry i will never find anything. 😂
Oh that is so funny and what a perfectly timed video for you 🤣. My room is a kind of organised yet disorganised sewing space. I kind of know where most things are but I have 50 years of sewing stuff in there plus can you believe a lot of stuff from my daughter when she was a child 🙈. I am so glad no one in my family is an organiser 🤣. Thanks so much for watching and enjoy your pattern sorting! 🧵😊
Ha ha that did make me laugh. Of course what is also missing is the empty fairy washing up bottle 😂. Thanks for your belated birthday wishes and of course, for watching 🧵😊
Oh dear, oh dear Carole. This is a bit too close to home for comfort 🤣🤣🤣 I do clear the decks before starting a new project though as I’m sure you do too. 😊 Thanks for sharing x
Thanks for watching Shelly, yes the decks are cleared and luckily that table extends 😂. I am just always so excited for the next project, never mind keeping it all tidy! 🧵😊
Thanks for the fun video! I have nothing on my actual table. but the basket on the bookshelf behind my sewing table is quite a mess! Hope you're having a great week!
Oh I envy you with a clear table! I suppose that is my only workspace, no other place is clear apart from my ironing board so I don't have any choice but to keep bits on there. (That's my excuse 🤣). Thanks for watching. 🧵😊
Happy Birthday. Great video, lots of fun. We all have something like that basket on our sewing table. I have two more weeks to get my sewing room in shape before my family comes to visit. But, I am also sewing summer pajama pants and shorts for my granddaughters. Hmm, sewing or tiding up, yeah that's a no brainer, sewing it is.
SEWING all the way!!! Tidying can wait 🤣....well until at least the night before they arrive! Thanks so much for the birthday wishes, I had a wonderful day and I have been very spoilt. Have a great week 🧵😊
This was fun, Carol. I bought a really large bamboo silverware organizer (14.5 " x19.5") at IKEA. It sits next to my sewing machine desk (an old computer desk) on top of the filing cabinet (the same height as the desk) butted up next to it. I keep all my bits and pieces there. I keep my pens in a mug that was gifted to me when I graduated from high school 50 years ago. But yes, chaos does ensue and I like to clean up before I start a new project. Bernadette
Hi Bernadette, that is a clever idea to have an organiser next to you. I do have two drawers underneath my sewing machine with cutlery trays full of all sorts but I rarely use those things. It is funny how we all find things to sort our bits! I can never throw away gift boxes or tins and jars 😂. How amazing you have that mug, what a piece of history. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Happy birthday 🎂 this video was great fun 😊 I have to say it's a relief to see that it's not just me who can be a bit disorganised 😂 well done done for showing us ❤
Thank you so much for my birthday wishes! I am glad you enjoyed the video, it was meant to be real and just wanted to show that not every sewing room is perfect!! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
I like order, but I went through a period of yucky disorganization, now each time I go up to the sewing room I make sure I go through something and put away anything which belongs else where. In another nine or ten years I may catch up, not really that long. You reminded me that I could go up and sort.
I do try and put at least a couple of things away at the end of a session. My Mother has a saying "don't put it down put it away"... I try, I really do 🤣. A couple of minutes sorting does make the difference though doesn't it, good luck with yours and thanks for watching 🧵😊
Yay!! This was awesome, Carole! The # is whatever you have on your table. That first flat clear container you have is what I need to get for Tony's embroidery. I do remember when you made that Fanny pack.😅 I have a mason jar of pins, and then I have a magnetic ford behind my door that is full of my dry erase markers.
Thanks Zelda, I am so glad you approved! The table right now is the clearest it ever is so thought it was the perfect time to film. Great hashtag and fun, it isn't always about the pattern reviews is it 😂🧵
I'm not worried if people think I'm messy. I wouldn't want to pretend to be something I'm not. I'm always just too excited to get on with the next project 🤣. As you say, isn't it amazing to find things where you don't expect them to be! Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Love this Carole! Mine is about the same and I would say, at least I know where everything is in my chaos, but I’m constantly losing things, so that is not the case 😂😂 It’s amazing what you can find on a sewing table 😂 Thanks for sharing - What a fun video!❤❤
Thanks Mary, I may get a lot of flack for this video but like Andra said, I am keeping it real 😂. I do know where most of the stuff is in the sewing room and my husband always marvels at my ability to know where random things are in the house! I had only been away a week and honestly had no clue what I had left on the table. I hope you do one of these videos! Have a great week xx💗
Hi Carole, great video and suggestions (sticky dots). I have just subscribed and am currently binge watching your older vlogs. I am particularly interested in the Lutterloh System and was wondering if you hadn't been gifted it by your mam would you go out and buy it. I am considering getting it but I guess I just need that push. Anyway, take care from Newcastle upon Tyne x
Hi Norma, thanks so much for finding me and subscribing, I really do appreciate that. Funny you should ask that about the Lutterloh system as someone else asked me recently. I don't have much of a problem fitting the Big 4, they may need slight adjustments but nothing major. A lot of people use the Lutterloh system to get a better fit and be more in control of the patterns. So for that reason, I wouldn't have bought it for myself. What it does give however is once you have made the initial outlay you get a lot of patterns for your money and possibilities. I do really enjoy it for the drawing and the challenge of making up the designs, you don't get any instructions so you do need to be a moderate sewist, certainly not a beginner. If you can get your hands on a second hand system I would recommend that to see if you will use it. Hope all that helps! 🧵😊
Isn't creativity associated with some degree of messiness 😁?!? Well, that's my excuse, anyway! I have some pretty tins I keep things in like buttons but then I have to open each one to find what I'm looking for as there are a number of them and I forget what's where. Things I use more frequently are right out on top of the desk I use to sew on as I don't have a sewing table (I cut things out on the floor - I tell myself it's good exercise...) If anyone were to see my sewing room I would be busy explaining and apologizing - you were brave!
Yes!!! Let's say that 👏🏼. The more creative our brains the messier our workplaces! I love a pretty tin and jar and yes I have some unlabelled too that I have to search through 🤣. I used to cut on the floor until we had a dog who walked all over everything. I do use our dining table a lot if my table is out of control with clutter. Cutting on the floor requires dexterity and being flexible, not unlike Yoga at times so yes, that counts as exercise 👏🏼. My room is what it is and I don't pretend to be perfect, it was fun to go through that trug on camera! I just hope people realise from this video that sewing spaces can be untidy, it's what is produced in them that counts. Thanks so much for watching. 🧵😊
I feel so much better knowing Im not the only one that stashes and loses things in the sewing room! Dont we all need 16 pens hanging around the sewing room? One for every notebook!! Great to see you again! I miss you!!’❤
This was a fun one Carole and I must say I'm relieved to see that I'm not the only one with "miscellaneous" piles 😂
Ha ha thank you so much. We can't all be super organised and perfect can we 🤣. Glad you enjoyed the video 🧵😊
Thank you for showing us what's on your swing table. I think for me the best idea was the bumbag with your tools--very handy!
Thanks so much for watching and I have to report the sewing table is as disorganised today as it was then! I just love the bum bag, it saves a lot of searching time believe me. Happy Sewing 🧵😊

Thank you, Carole. I don't feel so bad about collecting bits and bobs together, then having to have sort out. 😂
Glad you enjoyed the video and it made you feel you aren't the only one 🤣. Thanks so much for watching 🧵😊

Oh no, you're my twin in the sewing room. I can never put my hands on what I need when I need it. Enjoyed your video as usual.
Yay! Another slightly disorganised person like me. Someone has said the more creative we are the messier we are so I am happy with that! Have a great week 🧵😊

Ha ha thank you! I thought I had better warn people just in case 🤭
Very belated birthday wishes 🎉🎉. I think all that is missing is the double sided tape and a Blue Peter badge 😉

I would put a recycled can/tin or a glass in your purple tote thingy to hold the pens to one side/corner.
Oh now that is a good idea! I will now go hunting around the house. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
We all have a container that is full of bits and bobs, I sort it out and it gathers up more stuff 🤦♀️😂
I am so glad you appreciate my trug of bits and bobs! Things just find themselves being put in there, no idea how?! 😂.Have a good week 🧵😊
Great fun vlog!!! What a treasure trove!!
Thanks Rachael, I imagine there to be no messy spots at all in your new sewing room! Hope your weekend is going well 🧵😊x

@@socarole66🤣 You did great! I loved it! 😘💗
❤❤ I am not alone in the world!!❤❤
No you certainly aren't! We are just creatives, we don't have to be tidy! .🧵😊
