I'm seeing some comments about challenges overlapping and thats a great question! Let's dive into it! I plan out my videos anywhere from 3 to 12 months in advance so I know everything thats happening for about a year. Then I account for it all and make sure challenges align with each other vs overlap if that makes sense. Example during this year I did bare footing running = that was my Peter Attia zone 2, weight vest = Peter Attia love of rucking, ballet = my mobility and stability for Peter Attia etc etc. I you watch my 14 - 30 day challenges carefully you'll get a sneaky peak of what my 1 big year challenge is :) As I usually plan them to be the building blocks of my bigger challenges, Takes a TON of planning but I do try my best to structure it all so everything aligns. Also sometimes if i am doing 2 challenges at a time I make sure they are something that doesn't conflict, example testing legging while I test a type of workout 2 birds 1 stone, and they wouldn't influence the results. Hope that clears it up!
Anddddd yes as someone that went to college for science and respects the scientific method it would be technically more accurate to only test 1 thing a year and have that be the only variable BUT then that'd mean 1 video a year, andddd this channel is meant more for entertainment + using science best I can to wade through the BS, not a scientific study ☺️ i’ll always do my best to try and communicate how they overlap and how they align for you all ❤️

Hearing you talk about stress management, being overwhelmed, triggered, and your do nothing video is so validating for me. 2024 was an awful year for me that was full of anxiety and panic attacks. I did not enjoy my job and was having the Sunday scaries every single night before work. Then in late September someone close to me suddenly passed away which really shook me. In early November I was fired and the immediate sense of relief and peace was shocking. I felt like I had shed a huge weight I didn't even know I was carrying. I'm a single income household and am not wealthy by any means but none of that even mattered to me. I felt free, and I could finally get a good nights sleep. I also made the decision to do nothing for at least a month and give myself time to recenter and take care of myself. Now two months later I have lost 18 lbs without trying, visited my sister and brother in another state for an extended holiday stay, andI have decided to move here which I have been considering for years. I am so excited and relaxed entering the new year and I feel like a totally different person.

This is such a relatable journey. In 2020 I left an abusive marriage and leapt into holistic health. I overdid it/stressed myself out and became underweight and never had treats. I saw a chiropractor who although I was very health-conscious told me, “You HAVE to calm down. Whatever it takes.” Then I whiplashed in the opposite direction. Now I’m finding balance. We can’t be so hard on ourselves.

Something I'll be carrying into 2025 and hopefully will continue to develop is my morning routine and balance of my sleep schedule. I started working out actively and regularly in January last year but realised combining it with my full-time bachelor studies became more difficult. On a whim, I threw my morning routine upside down for my last exam week. I started waking up at around 5:30, starting my days with a workout or run, and then studying for the major chunk of the day after returning home. This has provided me with more energy, routine, and improved sleep. There are other many issues unmentioned in this comment that I would like to improve, but making exercise, study, and sleep my main priority is something I'm quite proud of :)

I just want you to know how much better these protocols have made me feel. It's hard to describe, cause day-by-day, nothing seemed to change, and then I finally noticed how happy and healthy I feel! This is the first winter of my life that I didn't struggle with SAD. I didn't even notice until the solstice occurred. I used to count down the days until there would be more sunlight, looking for some sort of relief lol. I'm 38, and feel better than I ever have before. Thank you!

I have worked on my stress soo much last year. I noticed that it helped me in my recovery from long covid a lot. Step 1. Noticing the stress response (in all it's different forms) 2. Figure out what you are responding to 3. Find out if the stress is helping the situation or not 4. Calm down if necessary. Sounds easy, it's not. I have used several techniques and practices to implement these things. Practice is key. ❤

    • @annemay3897
      @annemay3897 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

Some things I don't stress about anymore, that might sound trivial, but do add up I believe.
      1. I am not a bad dog mom if I don't walk the dogs 'on time' (they don't even care that much)
      2. Nothing crazy is going to happen if I arrive late, so I stop hurrying.
      3. My world doesn't end if a person doesn't like me. I will live.
      4. If I don't want to continue eating, I stop. In an hour or so I will be hungry again, I will finish the dish than.
      5. I will not be frustrated with the mess in the house. It will be cleaned up at some point this week. And it will become messy again. That's life.
      6. I am not a bad person for having some food waste. I do my best to look inside the fridge, sometimes you miss something. It's oke.
      7. I will not be stressed by my work. If things don't get done, they don't get done. People will deal with it, life goes on.
      8. I will not stress myself out with the possibility that my boss is not satisfied with my work and will let me go. I do what I can, if it happens, it happens, and I will find a new job.

What made me enjoy working out again after being chronically ill was primal movements, stretching and stabilizing excercises from Zuzka Light. She talks so much in her workouts about form and taking it easy on yourself. I needed that. So in 2024 I've switched my crazy stressful job to a more chill one as soon as I could, started ceramic classes, tennis and padel. I've started those sports because I suck at them. Thank you for your video's. I naturally don't have much energy and therefore spend most of my days bed rotting. But your videos always gave me motivation and encouraged me to change things up. Since half a year I try my best to have a "active day" every other day. So I'm doing weights (3 kg) at home, going on a walk with my family, visiting a museum...
Your lifestyle is very aspiring and I love the messages you promote. ❤

I'm in my 40s and I am in way better shape/heathier now than I ever was in my 20s. So don't get too hung up on "age". Also there are lots of studies about "high LDL" that show that it is not necessarily bad. If your triglycerides are in a good place, then the higher LDL really isn't that bad of a thing. Consider a CAC test to really see the health of your heart. Love your content! Keep crushing it girl!

You're always super transparent about costs of things in your videos. If you can share, I'm super curious about the costs of your consultations and tests with "heath care 3.0". As a fellow Canadian, getting all those tests looked like a dream!

Just bought this book... I will be binging too! Also, Lions Mane is AMAZING for cognitive and brain health... I put it in my coffee or tea everyday.
Also, you are NOT a nerd, biochemistry is VERY interesting! CoQ10 helps give your cells more energy... I've been taking that since March of 2021!

Following along with your videos it is so cool to see glimpses of those routines and programs that you are implementing over time and then, after a year or longer, you finally get the result. The quality and time investments of your content is truly amazing.

I'm sure you've had this idea before, but I would love these longer videos in podcast form to listen in the car. I struggle to watch/listen as a sole activity, also can't listen to speaking while I work, but on my commute this would be awesome!

I'm struggling not to feel very down on my recent lack of progress in health areas. 2023 was the year of me working on being able to walk again for more than about 2 minutes at a time after a spinal injury in 2021 that I couldn't get proper treatment for because of the panini. The first 6ish months of last year, I did really well, and lost about 40 pounds mostly through diet - notably, being able to cook for myself again since I could finally stand for lengths of time, which means it was easier to be mindful of what and how much I was eating. Then in the second half of 2024, I hit a wall that I'm still trying to get over. I had some major work-related stress that threw off all of my (still fairly new) habits, and all progress ceased. I haven't back-slid too much, thankfully, but it's just felt absolutely impossible to get back into moving the right direction. I still have another 80ish pounds to lose to be in a healthy range again, but getting back in the groove feels like an impossible task.

For women, not eating a little bit when you wake up keeps cortisol/the stress hormone high, especially if you work out fasted. Maybe having a protein shake with some chia seeds for omega 3s and a small carb when you wake up would help with managing stress. Dr. Stacy Sims talks about women’s hormones and how some mainstream advice is suited for men and not women and she mentions eating within 30-45 minutes ish of waking up

I ended up buying this book since you've mentioned it several times over the last few years. I'm the book he said that he was a Dr at John's Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. That hospital is 10 minutes from my house! It's one of the best hospitals in the US. I just thought it was kinda cool 😊

I want to see Kelty’s hair like with warm, low lights… I think they’re calling it a lived in blonde, but one of the examples I can think of is Heidi Summer‘s had that really blonde hair and I just love how her hair is now I think Kelsey should go into a colorist and Got a picture of Heidi now because I just love that look I think it would. I don’t know B really gorgeous on her.❤

Watching my 81-year-old dad age has shown me how essential mental health is. His wife had a stroke, which limited her in some ways and severely impacted her mental health and she has dragged my dad with her into her pit of depression and it is so sad to watch and accept. Physical changes like pain and mobility loss are inevitable, but the ability to adapt to "new normals" is what really matters. If I lose the ability to do activities that I feel define my identity, can I accept that? What if my dental health declines and I lose some of my teeth? If I'm incontinent will I let that prevent me from being social? Will I be able to accept somebody else helping me if I need it? If I lose my mobility (I have an autoimmune disease and this is highly likely) can I deal with that? How do people with constant pain deal with that and still live a fulfilling life?

Keltie You mentioned strengthening your back. Would you consider doing a really detailed video on how to strengthen the back, and specifically make it something that can be done at home with simple equipment for people like me who can’t or don’t go to the gym? The reason I ask is because I have no knowledge of the lingo and I don’t know what you did based on the things you said. Thx for reading. x

Always loved your videos!! Great job on this one! I read Outlive the past summer and I have been talking to people about the amazing stuff I discovered! One win of 2024 was my 3rd marathon in November! I agree it's not healthy to run a marathon but the discipline you gain through the tough training and the boost of getting to the finish line have made me to run a marathon every year (just one though😂). However, in my case the marathon made me think about food in a different way. Because I had to eat if I wanted to survive the process, this made me see food as fuel. So, since 2021 I have not had any issues regarding my previous eating disorders. So, I love running because it saved me in a way.❤
Have a great and healthy new year girl!

You should do a challenge like this for Dr. Daniel Amen! He focuses on brain health, and I feel like some of this would align! He’s a bit more extreme in terms of toxins and stuff, though. But you should look into him! His research is super interesting. A good book to look at would be The End of Mental Illness!
