Design education prepares you to become a good designer but one thing that my education lacked was learning how to build a sustainable business around design! I wish someone had really taught me this and here is me dismissing the Myth of how importance it is to get a degree to build a career in design.

Hello ma'am ! it's Aalia here, I'm a student of 11th. I opted for the PCM stream to prepare for IIT-JEE but somehow I realised that I was never made for it. I want to become a fashion designer but I have no idea where to start. I'm completely lost ! My dream is to get into NIFT but I don't know how. How do I prepare for it when I'm a pcm student? Hiee di.I study in jd school of design,bangalore. I have a query can you please answer it. I am damm confuse....i want to be consistent on youtube ,also i want to start learning procreate as soon as possible. Basically i want to focus on my skills more than theory. As I have interest in theories and all ,i want to know about that ,also i focus during classes but i am confuse should i focus more on learning and revising subjects to get better marks or be a topper or should i focus on skills more. Is marks and result matters in getting a job coz whomever i asked they told me to get decent marks but focus more on skills dont be in the race to become a topper. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE answer it. It will be really helpful for me .
Hey, focusing on your skills is really important, but you must concentrate on everything your course includes as that is very important for your career. Also, whatever you decide, make sure you research on every aspect and make an informed decision. Good luck :)

If you want to pursue a career in design, you can prepare and apply for a masters degree in design after completing your arts degree.
