Same for me. I love the way they work. It's well planned and structured,, we can see they had tought "where to start" for that hudge project and the progress. They respect the architecture and in the same time, they are adding a touch of modernity. That castle at the end is going to be a beautiful jewel for France.

When all the facade work is done, I bet the family’s of all the amazing artisan’s would enjoy coming to see the exquisite work their loved ones have done over the years. I’m sure you’ll have a celebration. This transformation is something out of a fairy tale, except it doesn’t happen with the wave of a magic wand.

It's been my observation that your successful handling of this extensive restoration project is due to your excellent communication and organizational skills. You both collaborate effectively and have built a strong rapport with the artisans, and it shows in the results.
On a side note, I have been waiting patiently to see the new shower, and today, we all got a sneak peek into what it's looking like.
Wishing you a wonderful, productive week ahead!

It is truly a wonderful thing to see the interiors start to take shape! Your plan for the coming months sound good and doable, and it is indeed about time that you had more comforts for yourselves. Purnon is getting the care she needs, but her caregivers also need good care and a comfortable space to be at home and relax.

Sometimes it's difficult to put some of the work into perspective but the way this video moved through the building, coupled with your discussions, really helped me understand it in a different way. Thank you!

I’ve recently found your restoration project on Facebook. So I know nothing of your background or how on earth you have the knowledge and the tenacity to take this project on but my gosh, you are too special human beings and I love the wonderful footage of the progress, especially when, you’re showing an update on something and moving the cameras slowly so we can actually see the detail in the wallpaper or the detail in something that is falling apart and then going to the window and seeing what a wonderful view that particular room has. Thank you so much for such wonderful dedication and restoration of a heritage that may be lost. You’re both very special. Thank you.

This is an entire chateau…including the surrounding structures and landscape and furniture…and mine is mostly furniture. Puts it all into perspective.

The two of you must now also remember. This building is now water tight which allows you to move ahead with your restoration projects. That makes a huge difference. You will also feel that you are moving forward on the inside of the building. As you move forward and complete your 'listed' projects. You will also feel 'wow' now the inside moves on. Good job you do the 'little' (which is actually not so little) renovations orderly and do not go into overload. ❤ Good luck we love watching.

🥰 I'm marveling at your patience this time ...again!
By the way, I love the little vernacular: "the snug."
...perfectly expressive, but it's new to me. I feel warm and cozy just hearing the word. I wish it was easier to get from the US to Australia. What else am I missing?!?!
This video seems particularly educational, because I got impatient just looking over your shoulders! 🫣 As you discussed details, one project at a time, many suggestions jumped to my mind. But at about the fourth mini-project, I realized my sortof industrial instincts would be the wrong move for an 'awakening!' So then I REALLY saw your patience again! 🤯 In contrast to my own lack of it. Way cool, you guys!
... I would gobble up as many of these as you would care to produce, though I hesitate to say that because you obviously had to plan at least several of these dialogues and the transitions, and then tie it all out with your ending summary. But I really enjoyed this.
    ...Mezmerizing!

As you both know there are a myriad of Chateau channels out there but Chateau Purnon is by far the best we have watched. The mythology, planning and scheduling activity that you undertake is so amazing and it run just like a business, your two bloody Aussie’s are sensational and there is a lot to learn about the task of talking a complete renovation of a derelict Chateau and the way this has been done is purely amazing. Thank you both for the effort, workmanship and professional that you purvey to us and especially the French who will be honoured by what you are doing and have already done. Be safe, take care and God bless 😇🙏🏰🤩

You are exactly right about starting what seems to be an overwhelming project with a small manageable task. I experienced this when I purchased a new home with builder grade landscape. I had landscape plans drawn up and felt so overwhelmed I could not start. Then someone told me I should start with the smallest task on the plan. It was easy to accomplish, I did it and I loved the outcome. The rest of the project flowed from there.

Thanks for your message. The ceiling is low because this is an entresol (literally a level between the levels). These rooms were usually for servants. I am in total amazement and admiration, each week, at your time management and organization. This is such a huge renovation and you seem to take it all in stride, although I’m sure there are days it just feels overwhelming. Looking forward to seeing these smaller (?) projects to completion.

Frederick (? Around 19:00) has such cool wallpaper. It’s amazing how at every angle it looks 3D.
Your plans are daunting but inspiring. I love how gentle your voices are in this. A couple would have to have that quality to tackle a massive project like this.
    Best of luck to you!

Thank you for the updates. Lots of exciting progress in store and lots of work. It is always good to put plans onto paper and work out a plan of action. Remember to take time out to enjoy yourselves. I love the ceiling in the bedroom with striped wallpaper. I have never seen a ceiling done like that using the wallpaper stripes. I hope you have a wonderful week and all goes to plan.

The best plan is to simply plan with all the contingencies as best as possible knowing that you may need to be flexible when faced with unexpected obstacles - this is fine when the budget is not an issue! Clearly sometimes the budget does have an impact along with timeline practicalities - always a balancing act! You have achieved so much given the cost of this restoration.

If you guys want a live-in helper, you have a friend in me!!!!!!! Just send me the flight tickets ……one way will be fine!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤🏚️🏘️🪟🪣🪠⛲️🪞🪑🧽🚪🧼🧹🏠🏠🏯🏰❤

Howdy, guys! If you read this, you may wanna look into the Speedheater Infrared Paint Removal Lamp+Arm Attachment. I discovered midway through my renovation of a 1910 Craftsman Bungalow. I had been using chemical stripper, removing 6-7 layers of paint. Then, MAGIC, the Speedheater heats up the paint, but not hot enough to vaporize the lead, and with the arm attachment, you move it around 30 seconds per section. It’s was a life changer for me with my bungalow. You’ve a CASTLE!!!! 😅✌️

    •  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Our project is immense. The product we are using - SmartStrip from Dumond in the US is the same product that is used to remove paint from the Eiffel Tower in Paris. We could not be happier with SmartStrip. It is easy to use and non-toxic. The team from Dumond came to Purnon to show us how to use SmartStrip safely and efficiently.

Good afternoon, my lovelies from a very rainy Massachusetts…
I wanted to ask if you guys are ever intimidated by the idea of how rapidly a building of such grandeur can deteriorate … I mean, I understand that it was left neglected for a long time, but it just seems to me that every time I turn around there’s a whole new project on my 1,000 sqft home….. château seem to be a very high maintenance bed partner!!!
At least you’re getting a lot more for your work than I am !!
    ❤😂🎉

    •  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

Hi Laurie, with buildings like those on the estate, we find that deterioration accelerates. Things can hold ok for some time, but once roofs start to fail, things decline very quickly.
