We have an innate hunger for meaning. It is my conclusion that evolved sea scum would not have a desire for meaning(or justice..). If we were truly just a result of natural processes and if our thoughts are a predetermined result of natural processes(as Stephen Hawking concludes) then I see no reason WHY we would have a desire for meaning or justice.
    Yet, we do.

Common descent evolution is so frustrating. It's a baseless extrapolation of observable evolution which is nothing more than passing on existing genetic information. Common descent requires the creation of new genetic information which has never been observed. Moreover, creating a new type of animal is more than just creating new genes, it's rewiring entire networks of genes that instruct the development of an embryo. It works like a rube-golberg machine. You can't just randomly change one component or everything subsequent to that change will not be set off, i.e., the developing embryo will not live, or the developing limb will be lost.

After two university degrees and the experiences of more than half of a lifetime, I began to realize the extent of humanity’s inhumanity and the fragile state of the world we live in. This led me to Faith in Jesus Christ and to acknowledging the Truth of everything that God has revealed in His Word in the Holy Bible. Trusting in the Lord Jesus and receiving and resting on the eternal salvation offered in the gospel allows me to persevere in this life and to address the shame of my sinful past and the damage it wrought.

What matters is that you have been forgiven. And that forgiveness is by God’s Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, for God’s Glory alone. That’s the 5 Solas. Sola Gratia - Grace Alone; Sola Fide - Through Faith Alone; Solus Christus - In Christ Alone; Sola Scriptura -According to Scripture Alone; Soli Deo Gloria - For the Glory of God Alone. Look into Reformed Theology. This is how those of us who are reformed began to realize that it’s not Roman Catholicism, Baptist, certainly not Pentecostalism, or any of the other hundreds of denominations really help you to learn about God’s Love and Mercy, and His Law and Gospel. Religion isn’t simply a feeling that one gets when the music starts playing softly and the lights dim, making you subject to emotions. Christianity is a way of life, of service, of trusting in our creator God and the Mercy he’s bestowed upon us through His son Jesus and His finished work on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. We can’t earn our salvation by praying to the dead or for the dead, including Christs mother Mary…she’s dead, but lives eternally with Christ in Heaven. Read Jesus’ own words when He asked, “Who is my mother, and who then is my brother or sister?”

As a former communist, an atheist who ridiculed religion anywhere and anytime I could , I relate to this guy very much. God used a miracle to show me that he exists and I have seen a few miracles since but trying to understand God's love intellectually is very hard. Once the Holy Spirit is in you, that love overwhelms you and becomes very obvious. The best way to explain it is this. You're a single guy, you hate loud kids, in a restaurant especially, and little kids in general being a nuisance. Then one day your own child is born and you hold him in your hands. Since that moment you still look the same but you're no longer the person you used to be. Same with God, you ridiculed him yesterday and the next day your heart is full of gratitude and love for your Creator.

I've heard that Ecclesiastes is actually the best place for a non-Christian to start. Those of us who grow up in the church might just look at it as being depressing, but for a non-Christian it pulls back the veil on the human condition and reveals the futility of life without God. Everyone dies, so whatever you accomplish this life is meaningless if you don't have a relationship with God that promises life after death. God asks for very little, but gives abundantly in return.

@@floydbaker2240 I didn't "start" there per se. I eventually got to Ecclesiastes. I found it to be absolutely profound - particularly 8 & 9. But they all sort of tie together. I seemed to already "be there," spiritually, but I never encountered a "biblical affirmation" of my spirituality until I read it. Essentially, all of the material things, and [this] worldly success will not satisfy man[kind]. Accomplishments. Wealth. "Success." Etc. will not satisfy a person. Only an individual's relationship to God, gratitude for His blessings, positive relationships with others, and time we can share with others we care about will fulfill us. There will be things of this world that will make no sense to us - and there will be no "worldly" justice ("here"), because our laws, governments, societies, culture, etc . . . are all created by man (who is imperfect). . . . so embrace a relationship with God, and reverently trust and obey Him. That will sustain and fulfill you like none of the worldly possessions, hobbies, goals, interests, etc here on this realm.

I had been asking God this question for sometime now...and one day while getting the music ready before I got loaded, I blurted out this question to God again, only this time...I heard God, speaking to my heart very clearly...He said "I've allowed that thing to have power over you so that I could get your attention"!!!!
Well lemme' tell ya, He got it...and I just kept asking Him to set me free ...then one day after like 2 months of crying out to God I woke up feeling weird ...and I'm used to feeling 'weird' from having hangovers back to back but yeah this was different...and I asked myself, "did what I think just happened, just happened"??.... And sure enough...at first I didn't start celebrating because I'd been used to thinking I was done only to end up getting drunk that night, again, ...but one day turned into 3 days, which turned into 2 weeks...then 6 months... it's been 3 years now...and I was drinking everyday except Sundays!!! I drank a 12 pack too...

Many Jews believed Jonah died in the sea creature and was resurrected by God. Jesus foreshadows his own death and resurrection by referencing Jonah. Like Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and nights until he was released, so did the son of God lie in the earth (tomb) for three days and nights until his resurrection.

3:50 God used Ecclesiastes to get to me. As someone who saw Christianity for "the rich people," for "people who don't know what real hardship is", for "people who want to pretend life is sun and rainbows", God used Ecclesiastes to make me realise the bible doesn't say that "when you have God life is easy!" But it says that "life is full of frustration, suffering, hardship, and things that will pass away and be forgotten. And yet through it all, God walks beside us through the hardship." Never underestimate, people: Different books will reach different people

I would like some elaboration on this statement if you don't mind. If having God in your life doesn't make life better then how do you know he's there? This sounds more like optimism. Yeah it sucks now but it'll be better. Whether or not you include God that still stands. What does having God in the hard times do for you if it doesn't ease the hard times?

    • @TheCoolTee
      @TheCoolTee 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

I think no one could ever truly understand what having God in your life (through both hard and easy times) does for you until you experience Him for yourself. Because having this goes far beyond optimism or anything you can find here in this world. So far beyond that when you find it, you instantly know that it is more real than anything this universe is made of; literally more real than anything you can see, hear, touch, taste, or feel. More simply said, you won't be able to imagine it; it’s like someone who’s born blind trying to figure out how all the colors look.
So I don't know if my efforts to elaborate for you will do this justice, but I can try: *TryinBin* said “yet through it all, God walks beside us through the hardship.” The thing about God is He isn’t this distant, judgmental tyrant so many people who don’t know Him assume He is, but He chooses to walk with us _through_ the hardship. He didn’t just _tell_ us He will not remain distant, but God Himself came down and became one of us, and faced the same problems and pain that we have to face. He did this to _show_ us that He does care, and He will indeed not remain distant. And His Holy Spirit is still coming down to walk with us to this day, we who seek Him know this. Please my friend, honestly seek with all your heart and you will find, ask with all humility and you will receive, knock with all sincerity and the door will be opened to you. For this ultimate meaning is more precious than rubies and more beautiful than diamonds, "it is like a merchant searching for choice pearls, and when he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it."
      - Although I quoted Matthew 13 here, I want to clarify that these aren't just some words written or stories told, no, the words of Jesus reflect what happens to real people when they find the truth. If you would read them you can find out for yourself. I wish you the best!

@@SoundExperiment123 I understand your question, but it isn’t based on the correct premise. You are assuming that having God in your life doesn’t make it better, and that that makes it difficult to know he is there. However, the first post never said that life was just as hard or the same; they said that you would still have problems. They never said the problems would be the same or just as severe though. And that’s the issue here. Life could be extraordinarily painful and full of despair and heartbreak without Christ. But with him, while difficult and still problematic, nowhere near as painful and sad. We still toil in life, but there is a different level of comfort through the pain. And there is a different level of pain. There is less severity to it. There is also a different purpose to it. While God allows pain to occur, pain to his children is done for the same reason you might allow your children to have pain-for experience. Whereas, without God, you are alone and suffering because the world is simply cruel.

Guy does everything right, Satan makes a bet with God about this righteous man's life, God takes the bet, Satan delivers a level of torture to an innocent man with God's permission that is unfathomable to a normal person, innocent man gets all his stuff back and isn't sick anymore. Wtf! How is this a good message in any way? Granted I know he got more than he lost but, so what? Being healthy doesn't undo the pain. Having 6 kids doesn't replace 3 kids that died. Dude probably had PTSD after that, but at least he's rich now. Not to mention that in the end he's still seen as unclean. He's still in dirty rags. How? He's never sinned, covers for other people's sins, held his faith through unimaginable horrors, but he's no cleaner than everybody else? He went through all that just so God could say I told you so to Satan and he's still not good enough?

I'm looking for answers to a lot of questions and the bible is one of them. Probably the biggest one. So the bible is supposed to be the word of God, but it was written by men, translated by men, and even edited by men. Different churches use different versions of the bible that include or exclude certain books. King James edited the holy bible, that's why it's called the king James version. What we've found of the dead sea scrolls includes a lot of books that aren't in any bibles. Assuming that anything written even was the word of God to begin with, which it started and ended with men's hands, it's been so heavily changed we can't be sure what it used to say. They could still be editing it right now. I bet most people haven't memorized every word of the bible so they wouldn't know if it changed recently. People have used religion to manipulate other people as long as religion has existed. As old as this book is and as many humans have had chances to change it or lie from the start it seems like it would be nearly impossible for it to still be completely true and entirely the word of God.

When a man is driven, through desperation, to seek consequential truth ... it is a terrifying journey because one must trek within themselves & have the courage to question their own defining life. This man had his dose of wisdom, his revelation needed, & then the penance paid - realization. The pain comes in evisceration, cutting out & examining your own guts, or tearing down by hand the house you live in & then having the strength, the determination ot rebuild.
This man, this petty thing of flesh, bone, & blood is a different man than the child born.

At first, I remember thinking that after completing college and receiving benefits from Government assistance, life was like a perpetual vacation.
It felt great at first and I was enjoying myself.
However, after a while and knowing my physical limitations are still present, I started to feel a lack of direction and desiring a sense of purpose.
Fortunately, I still choose to attend Church weekly and develop friendships with other peers in my Ward Family (congregation of Christian Saints).
I Also choose to watch a TH-camr who has helped me understand The Bible better and with his weekly lessons, has helped me as I struggled with my Faith.
While it can be hard at times to figure out what I can do to contribute to others when I have serious health conditions, I am grateful for this reminder that God is the One Who has & will help me find my sense of purpose for my life.
Thank you for sharing this message. ❤️🙏🕊️

My journey started at age four in 1959 on a cold November Sunday. My first day at Sunday school. I know adversity I know what troubled waters are I know there is good and there is evil, I know there will be a day coming that my body will die, but human death can never be as bad as spiritual death. Spiritual death is permanent death. I once read that the most common words heard from verified Atheists in hospitals as they gasp their last words on earth, verified by family members and Hospital staff are..."Dear God please help me" That is all anyone needs to know. They reach out to the God of Abraham because deep down inside they know God is real. Every one of us is tied to God even if we try to deny him. "I knew you before you were born"

Ecclesiastes really is a very powerful book for some of us. Even when I wasn't a believer I loved that book for some reason. I would even think, "How is THIS in The Bible?" As a believer it brought me to tears with how beautiful it is when you fully understand what the underlying message is. I didn't fully get it before that but it definitely played a part...
In a nutshell; without a worthy of worship creator of reality there is absolutely no objective meaning to anything, including morality and life itself. As an athiest I didn't believe there was an objective that wasn't entirely subject to our desires. Therefore I didn't believe in good and evil. Somehow I completely missed the part where he concluded that with God there is real purpose, until I too was a believer. In my mind I saw the book as the story of a thinking man struggling with purpose and coming to the realization that everything is meaningless and so he was simply left with God. True but not the point.

In order to have everlasting life you absolutely must trust in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation 💞 this means that saving repentance is turning from unbelief to belief. You either believe that Jesus paid your sin debt in full or you don't ❤.

Thank you for posting this I know a few people that don't believe in God at times it seems they will never come to faith but this is a wonderful testimony of God's work to save his people ,by his will..alot of things on the internet are quite meaningless people show the things they are doing buying places they are going clothes they brought ect ,, sadly many times people are not really happy the blessing is a cursed until they become blessed in Jesus Christ.and then even things that seem to be cursed become blessed.

Fear not! All that can be will be saved! - - - Truth only offends people that love darkness - - - If you are unwilling to believe in the Creator of Everything; God the Father and His Son; Jesus then you are doomed to be deceived into believing in evolution and ETs (aliens) as our progenitors…. God help us all not to fall victim to this “great deception” in the name of Jesus, Amen! (Psalm 14:1 KJV, Matthew 24:24 KJV, 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 KJV and to avoid deception John 3:16 KJV)
