After a few thousand years he lures Fulgrim to Istvaan III and tells him to go f**k himself before detonating a Virus bomb killing himself and Fulgrim who he permanently wounded by openly rejecting him. Rylanor is an absolute hero and no one in the Imperium even knows his name

If I remember correctly he died by the hands of Fulgrim. As his body was getting corrupted he said "fuck you" to Fulgrim and with the help of a few rubric Marines managed to hurt him even though the wound was insignificant the message was clear. Truly the embodiment of loyalty, purity of purpose and fierce defiance in the face of overwhelming power he stood and he died a glorious death. To get a better understanding of the event go 40k theories and look for the video it should be there.

sadly he's super dead but he did give fulgrim the finger before he went
@Lord Admiral Spire fulgrim his patron god is the god of pleasure pain and pride so fulgrim was nerfed by having his pride shattered like that

He could not inflict lasting physical harm, but he permanently wounded Fulgrim's pride.
