    If I had the choice to fly with an Airbus or a Boeing (except 757 / 767 / 777) - I would always prefer an Airbus. The feeling of security alone is crucial.

      The 757, 767 and 777 that you mention are perfectly safe aircraft, but I would still prefer an A321XLR to the 757 and an A330 to the 767, they're simply much better in terms of passenger comfort. The 777 is less obvious from a preference point of view. On one hand it's definitely more spacious than the A350, and it does make a difference on long trips, but on the other hand it's much noisier and has drier air inside the cabin.

    Undoubtedly, its a big inquisitiveness in the aviation market sector, that first time US Airliners switching into Airbus from Boeing.

    • @harshbayad7
      @harshbayad7 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well thats not the case mate, United is much more loyal to boeing than to airbus, since it knows that the 737 max suits its airline's operations very well, the reason they need the 321neo is that the max-10 is taking too long to get into service and the only narrowbody around the same capacity as the max 10 is the 321neo. Nothing to special here honestly. The orders of Southwest, Delta(100 max-10s) is a testament to this.

    • @steinwaldmadchen
      @steinwaldmadchen 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@harshbayad7 Well, MAX10 was developed by Boeing as an A321NEO alternative, and United was supposed to be the prime target and testiment for it.
      I don't think United's new order to A321NEO is a financially significant to Airbus given how popular the variant already is, but it's symbolic anyway.

    Congrats to Breeze for their additional A220 order, although this will mean bye bye to their Embraers.
    It's interesting that United has been planning how their fleet would work without the 737 MAX 10 for a while now. Just as they're receiving deliveries of A321neos, and they're definitely ordering more as either a placeholder or a definite replacement.
    Is Cebu ordering Airbus or Boeing? Idk. Ordering Airbus' A320N would be more logical since their fleet is already Airbus-heavy, but it would be interesting if they buy Boeing's 737M. Although, I want to remind y'all, airlines buy aircraft based on calculations on which aircraft is better suited for the operations, not based on safety records.

    • @steinwaldmadchen
      @steinwaldmadchen 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It takes two sides to make a deal. Why should Airbus do United a favour? This airline is known to be a Boeing loyalist, and would only order A321NEO just because Boeing can't offer an alternative.
      Delta for example are more likely to top up, from A220 to A350 - despite it keep asking for cheaper prices every time it comes back. Wise Airbus managements knows who should they prioritise.
      Though if United finally promise to take A350s instead of kicking the can again, things are more negotiable.

    Now that we know that the videos are being posted about 10 days after production, it makes sense why most of the news isn't news.
    To clarify again, since this vlogger seems to like omitting key facts, United hasn't given up on the Max 10. They're just preparing for the aircraft not going into service next year, even though no one really knows for sure. It also doesn't mean that United plans to immediately retire their 757 and 767 as soon as the Max 10 goes into service.
    And, while we're at, as this vlogger likes to do in videos about Airbus delays and how Boeing also has delays, it would be nice to also point out that the A321 XLR is likely not going into service in 2024, or the A350F likely pushed back from 2025 to 2027. Correct, all planemakers have delays, but don't illustrate one without illustrating the other.

      @@sainnt Well, United wanted the MAX10 yesterday. But can Boeing tell United when it can deliver the long waited MAX10 (or in fact, any MAXes, because of the current production cap)? If no United would look for alternatives. Do note that MAX10 was supposed to carry the new premium heavy config, that shrinking it to fit MAX9 may hurt the bottom line.
      On the other side, it's not like this is a big win to Airbus either. It has more A320NEO orders than it can produce, and it has bigger fish to fry. Why should Airbus cater United when it can't produce enough for more Airbus leaning customers, say, Cebu Pacific?
      Oh yes, chances are Cebu could go for MAX if it gets a sweet deal from Boeing, and / or it can't get enough aircraft and parts in time from Airbus / PW. If that makes you happy so be it. There's little Airbus can do to prevent that happen, unfortunately.
      Just that certification delays for Airbus side is not on the same scale. A321XLR is in its final stage, while MAX7/10 has just started test flights last year - despite A321XLR was launch in the same year the first MAX10 was ever built.

    • @sainnt
      @sainnt 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@steinwaldmadchen The point is, both Boeing and Airbus are experiencing delays. Granted, much of the woes of Boeing are self-inflicted, but I think people don't understand that, prior to certification, a number of airframes are already built. Once a plane is certified, dozens can be delivered right away.
      I hear so much double talk from Airbus fans about why airlines choose to order Boeing aircraft. One minute it's because the planes are being practically given away with major discounts, and the next minute it's because Airbus has a backlog. You all sound like there's absolutely no reason for anyone to order Boeing aircraft if Airbus can just build them all. It's all quite hilarious sometimes.
      The fact is, discount or not, Airbus planes are generally more expensive to maintain, because of the types of engines they've chosen for most of their aircraft, and this was before Pratt and Whitney exacerbated their woes. It's not much of a story right now because all eyes are on Boeing, but it's a bigger issue for Airbus than they're letting on. This is why Airbus is constantly making design changes to their aircraft.
      The reason why Boeing isn't going anywhere is simple. They still engineer aircraft better than Airbus, and they innovate more than Airbus. Every time Boeing introduces a new aircraft, they introduce something that the industry has never seen before, and until Airbus can introduce another game changer since the 60 year old fly by wire, they will continue to be nothing more than opportunists, and Boeing will continue to innovate. We're all watching, but like it or not, Boeing is never going away. Way too big to fail.

    On the one hand, it is understandable that large airlines commit to one brand of aircraft (maintenance, etc.) - on the other hand, the aim of these airlines should also be open to receive the best possible product. For this reason, Emirates and Lufthansa also fly both manufacturers (Airbus + Boeing). The US airlines are now slowly realizing this (Delta recognized this early on).
