What's weird about the giant avalugg thing, is that in legends arceus there's a giant hisuian avalugg boss battle. Goes to show that avalugg can be that large.
tbh they probably could’ve adjusted the mechanic to be a gen 6ish thing, with only 3 spots that randomly rotate, and are constantly available. with that it’s babied down enough for the gen but still gives it an actual mechanic. if it were to have a gym i think it’d need to be available constantly instead of on a time based system, it’d cause to many problems with younger players. just my thoughts
Don't forget that the Noble Avalugg is also Wardened by Gaeric who is implied to be Wulfrics Ancestor. Would also explain where Noble Avalugg went instead of just becoming dormant.
@@jvbon646Um you know that ho-oh has literally red on itself and lugia also like ho oh has a red/blue colored face. Also the theme of lugia being a guardian of the sea could be associated with blue and ho oh's entire burned tower thing being red.

Honestly the Noibat/Noivern thing makes so much sense. A lot of the time when designing a "character" in media, they go through a lot of concepts before narrowing it down to one. It's entirely possible that when designing the gen 5 games, the Pokemon designers created multiple bat Pokemon to fill the one slot of "Zubat replacement" before picking one. They eventually went with Woobat - even placed next to Zubat, it's distinct for having a very different body shape and aesthetic, going more for a fuzzy, cute/goofy bat than a creepy or cool one. But when it was time to fill the gen 6 dex, another chance opened up for one of the other good designs (Noibat) to see the light of day. Also, it would explain why Noibat evolves so late. So many gen 5 mons do - right off the top of my head Mienfoo, Zweilous, and Larvesta all come to mind - and when placed among those, Noibat's level 48 evolution fits right in. They could (and should) have changed it to be earlier, but they decided they didn't have to if they just threw it in at the end of the game (like all Unova's infamous late evos).
Well I hope they make more new bat Pokémon for generation 10 and more different new bat Pokémon in gen 11 and beyond along with many other different brand new Pokémon
Noibat and Noivern originally being designed for gen5 explains why Alexa has one in the anime, Gogoat is *the* ride Pokemon and Helipotile is a small electric-type to bond with Pikachu.
I remember when I was in middle school and we had a quiz. After we finished we went up to the front and handed our papers to the teacher, where she was playing pokemon Y on her 3ds. I asked her about it and told her I had X, and she said Xerneas looked like a christmas tree. My boy got done dirty, he deserved to be red
The fact Xerneas was a fairy deer with rainbow antlers, vs an edgy grim reaper bird of prey, _probably_ influenced a good few players into going with Y.
Huh so Snowbelle City was supposed to be on a giant Avalugg and its Gym is managed by Wulfric whos Ancestor Gaeric was the Warden to the Noble Avalugg whos positively massive(and big/small enough to be under Snowbelle Gym if we adjusted for scale). With that and Bloodmoon potentially being Noble Ursaluna, it gives a better sense of what happened to the nobles.
Speaking of bat Pokémon, we are well overdue a new bat Pokémon at this point, maybe one based on Dracula or fruit bats, reference to Bram Stoker and the whole Dracula or Vampire element with it, sounds like a good and cool idea tbh, also speaking of which, this new bat Pokémon is suited in either in a Romanian region or an Irish region (home of Bram Stoker), so yeah
If it does return, I'd want both the form change and the original effects of the Battle Bond ability. I've never liked that they retconned it in both the games and the anime. I have no idea if the retcon affected the manga.
Omg the redblue bluered is hilarious but wild that it’s one of the only patterns that’s stuck. Remember, diamond and pearl are technically also blue and red so it also fits the pattern. Gen 10, blue razz and red cherry
I was gonna say, even if you don't generalize the colors (pink to red and orange to red, though pink is still red lol), each gen except gen 2 and gen 5 (first half doesn't, but second half technically does with B2 using blue accents and W2 using red accents) uses either red or blue as one of the primary colors of the games. Also interesting to note is that the 3rd versions, Yellow, Crystal (pale blue color), Emerald (green), and Platinum (gray but with red accents), basically give us the 4 basic colors every kid is taught in kindergarten or equivalent. Even with the overlap of Yellow, it matches gen 1's main series game releases too if you include Japan.
I personatly was Always aware of the duality "red/blue" in pokemon (actually, only gold/silver dosen't have this duality (and yes B/W as this in their secondary color). That is quite interesting that they switched xerneas and yveltal, this could maybe hint to alternative forms.
btw, gold and silver still red and blue, diamond and pearl dialga is blue and palkia is pink which is a light red, and even in black and white, reshiram has blue eyes and zekrom has red eyes, so it's still blue and red. to this day every single pokeon game duo has been red and blue.
I wonder if this is why Black/White and Black2/White2 switch Reshiram and Zekrom on covers. It was Red/Blue for gen 1, 2, 3, 7, 9. It was Blue/Red for gen 4, 5, 6, 8. RB: Red/Blue RB: Gold/Silver RB: Ruby/Sapphire RB: FR/LG BR: Diamond/Pearl RB: HGSS BR: Black/White (by eye color) BR: Black2/White2 (They switched Resh/Zek to keep cover colors) BR: XY RB: ORAS RB: Sun/Moon BR: Sword/Shield RB: Scarlet/Violet
I wouldn't necessarily count such a small detail as the Pokemon's eye colors in counting the games as being related to RB/BR. The better thing to look for is the logo since it stays unchanging, shiny Pokemon could technically ruin the schemes of any of these super easily (ex. shiny Lugia being pink/red). I think it's more accurate to say the games pairings are warm toned or cool toned, which makes it so you don't have to stretch RB as colors to fit Gold & Silver. Even with that said, BW is truly the only game that "broke tradition" by not being RB or warm/cool toned because they're actually shades (not colors), and by not adding color, it's impossible for them to be said warm/cool toned. B2W2 keeps the tradition due to the "2" and the art behind it and to the left of it on the logo being clearly blue or red. You could say the same about Silver specifically since it is gray. However, it's a specific gray, the metallic kind, which inherently has cooler tones to it due to the metallic properties (hence why people use it and gold to match their skin tones). Hard to capture the look of metallic objects without the use of color in art, elsewise the result is just...gray.
Alright so Red and Blue/green Gold and Silver (warm of red and cold of blue Ruby and saphire (red and blue) Diamond and Pearl (cold and warm so blue and red) Black and white (warm and cold) Black 2 and white 2 ( 2 is blue and Red) X and Y (blue and Red) Sun and moon (red and blue) Sw Sh (blue and Red) Scarlet and Violet (red and blue) Site note gen 6 X and Y is blue and red ORAS red and blue X and Y 2/z blue and Red And then gen 6 is the same from red and blue
I actually could belive they made multiple bat designs for gen 5 but wanted the generic cave bat pokemon to be softer looking but they still liked the design so the made it a powerful bat pokemon in gen 6. I could believe that. Also, they did use a giant avalugg for legends arceus, so it's not crazy to think they had that idea longer.
The issue is how the guy worded it. “Noibat’s/Noivern’s similarities to Woobat/Swoobat aren’t a coincidence,” like no one was thinking those two lines were similar to begin with, outside of being bats. I don’t think anyone was trying to theorize about any beta content or scrapped lore between them either. He could’ve just said “Noibat/Noivern were originally planned to appear in Gen 5 as one of many bat designs they came up with” or something like that instead, before elaborating. It kinda takes away from his credibility.
