    What I use is KIMTECH Whipes Large and Small and Rosco Cleaning Liquid for general cleaning and 99% IPA and Acetone and Water in case the dirt/residue can not come off on the glass. I use the rocket air blower its safer than Compressed Air

      I agree, KIMTECH wipes are the best, minimal lint. I avoid Rosco at all costs. ROR is the best lens cleaning solution any other brands don't come close to how good it is.

    hello,
    nothing on the commonly used rosco lens cleaning solution and tissues ?
    also, shouldn't we use disposable tissue instead of one microfiber cloth ? I've noticed they get quite greasy in a few days

    • @DarkTrapStudio
      @DarkTrapStudio ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They said you can clean them in the laundry at cold wash, and they explain that tissue will get in the painting in the exterior of the glass element wich is true but and if the tissue is too strong it may be too rigid for the glass but certainly specialized tissue like those made for camera sensors in single use shoud work.

    Can you tell what exact
    canned air is safe to use on front and back lenses ?

      @@Vkat696 lmao why?? Literally every professional camera assistant I’ve known in the last 12+ years uses canned air on lenses. The key is to never use it on a camera sensor!!

    Hello
    I am wondering what is the perfect method to clean a lens during shooting while SFX guys using smoke machines. Most often the particles of the smoke machine stay on the front element of the lens and that adds kinda like a soft filter effect. It is really hard to get rid of that with IPA for the first time and I need to try it 2 or 3 times. Why is that? Is there any other solution or the best it's just clean it as many time as necessary?
    Thanks for the fast reply

      @ARRIChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Different types of contaminants require different detergents. One liquid dissolves dirt, another is more fat-dissolving. It is therefore advisable to try different cleaning agents. If it is difficult or impossible to clean with IPA, you can also test it with an ordinary window cleaner or glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth.
      If all of this no longer works, acetone can also be used in an extreme emergency. But please only a little and very carefully: too much and too frequent use of acetone can damage the edge paint and the coating of the lenses and thus lead to expensive repairs!
      Best,
      Joachim

    stunned that the technician said OK to use facial tissues, DO NOT EVER they contain wood fibres and destroy lens elements alao stunned he said OK to breathe and clean which is NEVER recommended as water and oils from fingerprints or the like just dont mix and therefore only spread such like all over the elements. Arri are without question at the top of the hill in lenses, cameras and anything else they do but I must say that this particular video is not up to their usual standards.
