Meh, Atlanta before paving was pretty much like any other cookie cutter track so it doesn’t have any identity before this. Plus, we got the best photo finish with the current configuration .

Those ECR engines sounded fucking glorious on the intermediates damn near turning 10k RPM. But-in my opinion, at least-the Hendrick superspeedway cars were on another level sound-wise.

You know back in your childhood when you wanted to be a nascar driver and everytime you see a cockpit cam like this you put your hands up where the steering wheel is and you drive it like you were driving the car and you could feel the gust of wind on your face as you are going 200mph on the backstretch. Yea that was me at 8. Now im almost 21 and i dunmo what to do where to go, how to be in that seat. I hope one day i grt a chance to be in that seat and feel that wind and hear that engine go, even if its just only one time.

There is one way to do it, they have these track day events all summer long all over the country, a car club will rent a road course track for the weekend, you just pay a fee and you go race all weekend, or one day, at your age I guess you could borrow your dads Vette, sneak it to the track and go, I've been racing something my whole life, motocross for years when I was young, onto road racing motorcycles when I got a little older, than about 15 years ago I got turned on to this track day road racing, I have built two gen 4 Camaro's, they have more horse power than the cup cars and much lighter and faster, it is the most fun I have ever had racing, no limits you can run anything, people buy old cup cars and go to town, look up track day events and see what may be going on in your area, if you have any interest, you can find what may be going on in your area and just go for a day and check it out.

Bud, I'm 31 years old and grew up poor white trash in Ohio. I wanted nothing more than to drive one of those cars some day. Fact is, it's a spoiled rich boy's sport nowadays. No matter how hard we work, we'll never sniff even a late model. The days of you working a second job to field a car are gone forever. The only shot you've got is to get educated and make a lot of money. You're still real young and can take some chances and bounce back if they don't work out.

@ironpanther2420 well they have had this diversity program since 2004, sp I figured if I can get some training in a track experience like charlottle or Texas and then sign up for the diversity program

Buy a late model. Short track racing is much more fulfilling. You can buy a late model for around what it’s worth to have a Prius and make some good friends.
