Friedman is right, after the winner wins then it's all about who you didn't sign, or who is a playoff player .look at kimbrel horrible last year with dodgers, all of a sudden he is great
All this talk about the Dodgers "fixing everyone" doesn't sound so great when they had Kimbrel and couldn't get him right. I won't hold them accountable for Thor - he wasn't fixable.
@Prone2Thrill I also think the dodgers have to get away from thinking they save money from other teams cast-offs
Imagine if Eduardo Rodriguez had decided pitching in the playoffs would be a good thing, instead of vetoing the trade to the Dodgers. Maybe he'd have been the game 1 starter or replaced Lance Lynn in game 3...
for all teams except 1-4 teams, every year is a failure. 3 games is too short of a time to properly gauge how successful a team will be. I think the 5 days off is a detriment to the top two seeds. This should be changed.
As long as Andrew Friedman doesn't make managerial changes, nothing is going to change in the post season.
that is his puppet.
Friedman has to go as well. Its his offensive philosophy
Casual stupid fans because the manager makes trades and fills in personnel.
Dave the Manchurian Candidate Roberts
Starting pitchers most important
More Corporate Chicken Bawk
Different year, SAME ANSWERS….
Verbatim…
We're forced to pay insane ticket , concession and parking prices for the same ole shit . They're clearly happy with regular season success. Nothings going to change .
We can't hear the reporter's comments and questions. Can you give them a mic, please? And have them announce their names before they speak so we can follow the good ones.
I like the thought of having the Dodgers play AAA Dodgers to keep them game ready.
They’ll probably get swept by them too 😂
Against union rules
8:55 Friedman is right in this point. The SP was dog shit all year long. They need to acquire a frontline starter and a few more depth pieces.
But the Dodgers scored at least 4 runs in 111/162 games (69% of games). They scored 5+ runs in 102/162 (63% of games).
Their offense completely collapsing was on no one's radar. But then again, it's happened for 3 straight years now.
Not sure what the answer is, but Friedman was correct in assuming the offense would have scored 4+ in at least one of those games, because 2 out of every 3 games, that's what the 2023 Dodgers did.
Those of you who are into gambling, I'd like to look at your receipts because I am pretty sure you had the over on the Dodgers scoring 4+ runs in at least one of those games.
Can't wait for next year's press conference asking the same questions.
No leaders on the team. Nobody brings the fire 🔥
Right !!!
Friedman tends to ignore the mental things like the loyalty and affection for the dodgers
He should've re-signed JT !!!!!
Who would play with all heart if is treated as just tools !!!
@@carelesswp2740these are literally my thoughts. JT loved us, the city, the team.
Are you in the clubhouse? No? Then what do you know?
@@Anthony-dy5cq u don't have to be in the clubhouse moron. Watch their past post season performances.
Agreed.... Mookie/Freeman great individual players, doesnt appear they possess that it factor
I'm not gonna pretend like some "fans" to know how to bring another World Series to LA. The only thing that left me scratching my head this postseason was where the offense went. Also I don't get why people hate on the 2020 WS and bring up the shorten year. I thought the postseason (and getting there) was all that mattered? They played a normal postseason to win. And if you really want to put asterisks next to WS wins, what do you do or say about the one LA got cheated out of?
But I digress. The season wasn't a failure; they just failed to win it all, as will 28 other teams. Starting pitching rotation got destroyed; rookies stepped up during the regular season (not the postseason for the ones who played sadly) and gained experience. Bullpen was rocky early on, and lost some key arms throughout the year; they bounced back in the second half and held things down even in the postseason. Great offense this year; don't know where they went exactly.
We definitely are missing Walker though. I hope he does well after he recovers.
For the reporter that addressed the arrogance of the organization for not looking to make any major changes, thank you!
Whatever changes he will make. He's not telling tye reporter. That's dumb.
@@albertelnen9144 true, but he could have acknowledged that a change was needed. Instead he stuck to the status quo
Yes, thank you.
They sound the same. All rational, nothing emotional. Are these guy robots? Harper plays with all heart and HEY he is still playing. The DBacks beat us with they hearts, not their minds
@ 22:30 shows the underlying mentality…these clowns are running the franchise like a fantasy league team smh.
That and Friedman over simplifies answers to direct, specific targeted questions and over complicates answers to simple questions = no accountability (just the sound of it).
I’ll be the contrarian here. I don’t blame Friedman or Roberts for this year’s postseason. If you look at the talent we had on the sideline due to injuries and/or boneheaded player decisions, it’s a full starting rotation and a couple key offensive players (Urias, Buehler, May, Gonsolin, Lux, Treinen, Kershaw (shoulder) and yes, even Bauer). And it’s not Roberts’ or Friedman’s fault that Mookie and Freddie left their big boy pants at home in the NLDS. They put together a good roster. Sometimes the players have to step up and perform.
what about the years before
Urias was unforeseen. All the others it was known either prior to season or before the trade deadline that they were injured, coming back from injury, or have injury histories. No proven contingency plans beside Noah Syndgergaurd and unproven rookies before season and no trades to address what everyone knew would be a postseason requirement besides Lance Lynn smh when Verlander, and others were available. On top of that it’s a similar story year after year besides 2017 & 2021-so NO it is on the front office.
agree somewhat but this happens every year. the injuries were massive no doubt but something has to change IMO
Seriously I think the team played above and beyond. Other than four starters their talent is average
Need better pitchers.
Respect to the proper journalists in the room for being so direct and not taking their foot off Friedmans throat.
I am not a hater or a troll but we need straight answers.
It was never explained to the fans what the dodgers were trying to do.
We’re we dropping below threshold ?
Was it because Bauer we chose not to?
I loved that we brought thru the young players especially the pitchers.
No hope for next October ,if we don't fire Roberts and Friedmann!!!!
The end of the chapter of them !!!
It would be helpless to add some of the superstars !!!
It's not the matter of the lack of mvps but the matter of the managing and the philosophy of the baseball !!
Analysis , platoon system, and overmanaging may be good for the regular season but terrible for the playoffs
Friedman and Roberts tend to ignore the mental things
It's time for the reset for the dodgers, not for adding the players
In those 5 days I would make them play for starting roles and line up spots, regardless of their last name
This loss and embarrassment is on Friedman. He needed to upgrade the starting rotation at the deadline and didn't. I honestly do not think he knows how to put together a championship team. Before the Friedman defenders come at me saying he won a world series. That was with Ned Colletti players. Ownership needs to put the pressure on the front office to make sure they bring in the right players. They have no excuses.
The Dodgers went cheap last year with the Goal being Shohei Ohtani. The cheap hitters added outperformed. JD Martinez being the best example. Cheap pitching, not so much. Not surprised at all what happened.
I agree they went cheap. I dont agree they did it to get Othani. Friedman or Gomes never said they werent spending to get Othani. That rumor was started by a beat writer.
Their goal this year was to get under the luxury tax and make profits for their investors
The dodgers never lost three consectutive games against Arizona. Never before.
@GoDodgerBlueScarletBuckeye You dont bring in Friedman from Tampa Bay so you can give out the largest contracts in MLB history. You bring him in so you can run a similar operation as Tampa where you try to have a competitive team while at the same time look out for the Dodgers investors profits. Now, in LA they cant have the same budget as Tampa bay bc media and fans would turn on them but they are not going to try and go over the luxury tax threshold. Otani's contract doesn't fit into the current plan of being cheap
Did you forget that they were still stuck paying Trevor Bauer 28 million for this year? They were trying to re-set the luxury tax so they don't lose draft picks if they go over the cap to sign Ohtani or other pitchers.
@@bcardicoke A pitcher who never should have been removed from the lineup.
for those who complained, read the espn story about bruce bochy. he’s even less involved with the team than any manager i have seen. before the playoffs, he was only in the clubhouse twice, once to celebrate his ascension past walter alston in wins and once to find one of his clubhouse staff. he lets the coaches do their job, and he… watches.
the title of the article is “the radical calm of bruce bochy.” by tim keown, oct 8, 2023.
Whats yur point?
Thanks!
@@joeman6730 sorry about the late reply. i have decided to forego any more “fan” based dodger channels. which is my point: there seems to be “knee jerk” reactions to provide, to give “instant gratification” comments to this season, and beyond. firing freidman, roberts, perhaps the entire front office or the coaching staff; telling kershaw to retire or stay in texas; letting muncy, taylor, barnes, rojas, etc. to be traded for players who would cost more in salary and return pieces; and pushing a narrative that the dodgers should spent more money over longer years, just makes me think that the dodger fans have become as insufferable like yankee, red sox and cubs fans.
i use the article about bochy because some fans have suggested that dodgers should have hired bochy. if you want a rah, rah guy, there’s joe giradi or buck showalter; both are sitting at home. maybe you have a suggestion. but i think staying with a front office and coaching staff that has been so successful, so long now, would be a better decision. it will be interesting to see what the braves decide; they had the longest run of division champs but didn’t win every year; and now they have returned to being perennial division champs and have won only one world series.
Starting pitching going into next season HAS to be better than going into this season. Only way it’s not is if Friedman noticeably improve the hitting around Betts & Freeman. I would prefer both if possible.
That was the problem we had no starting pitching going into the post-season…most were injured, then to put pressure on rookies to perform with no post season experience and were still developing to get us over the hump is. Bottomline is we didn’t have the AB’s or pitching to get it done. Not on management. Injures are hard to overcome for any team in sports.
No Buehler ,urias caught up on DV charges Kershaw worked like a 🫏 Rookies put in unfamiliar Territory yeah 👍 definitely the main problem
Andrew Friedman NEEDS TO BE FIRED ASAP !!!!
Casual?
@matthewjimenez232 definitely a casual.
Dodgers management need to let Roberts run the game on the field he needs to get more tough not mean just to pep players r to be more aggressive not in a negative way but in a positive way
Are we going to keep signing the cheapest LF we can find regardless of whether they are a everyday starter or not? You can’t build a lineup with just 2 guys who can hit and 7 scrubs
The team scored more runs than any other Dodger team since coming to LA. Four guys had at least 100 RBIs. Hitting was a huge positive (until the playoffs).
Our goal is to win a championship. “Andrew, what was your thought process when you acquired Lance Lynn at the trade deadline?” “Did you intend to put the worse pitcher in the League on the mound in the World Series ?”
I guess there’s a pitcher out there that would have given up five back to back post season homeruns. We have something to look forward to…
Our goal next year lose in the first round.
Nah not even make it too the playoffs
@@GoDodgerBlueScarletBuckeye Adam Wainwright was the worst pitcher in 2023.
Andrew acquired Eduardo Rodriguez to be the #1 or #2 starter in the playoffs. No one expected Rodriguez to torpedo the trade to the Dodgers. Besides, the game 3 loss had more to do with the lack of offense, not Lance Lynn.
Andrew Friedman is from Houston he must be really happy his Astros might win their 3 championship on him being Dodgers president of operations !
Since the 88 Chip, my beloved dodgers have made the playoffs 16 times and have won 1 chip. 1 for 16...not good for a big market team with deep pockets and the best farm system in baseball. We are the LA Chokers, let's be real.
2020 was a mental game locked in a bubble. Mentally the Dodgers are fine. It's the emotional side where they come up short. Lasorda would have won. We need to play with our hearts, not our minds
@@GoDodgerBlueScarletBuckeye and while the team with the most emotion wins the WS, you will still be "reaching" for a ring
Yet in 20 years. Lasorda only won 2 world series. With lots not making post season.
@@albertelnen9144 he fidn't have this ownership group. If he did, dynasty baby!!!!!!!!!!
Andrew Friedman doesn’t know how to build a World Series team
What I’m not hearing is that “we have a major problem and we will do everything we can to fix it. If that means major trades, then we will do that too!”
“Andrew, why did you not resign Heany and Anderson when they were very affordable. Do you feel it was fair to the 45k fans that pour into your stadium on a nightly basis to sit on your hands”. Please explain the rationale??? 🤬
Fire Roberts and there is hope!
Keep him and we'll be talking about the same thing at this time next year!
No amount of money or talent with Roberts at the helm is going to change things.
New bus driver!
The dodgers have a good offense and bullpen but now getting a solid rotation will do it. Adding a few good hitters wouldn’t hurt
Starting pitching is a must, you need to quality arms that can pitch deep into October. Yes, the young guys did great, but you cant expect for them to have that kind of pressure. Every Postseason the problem has been pitching and offense, but it seems the offense struggles because the pressure is on them because our Starting Pitching doesn't go past 4 innings on a good pitching night. Nola and Yamamoto would be 2 good arms and maybe a trade for Burns. We have too many prospects that are not getting a chance and they are up there in age now, since you're not going to play them trade them and get a quality arm. Busch and Hoese have been top prospects for years now and only one was used due to injury and these guys are 25 going on 26.
They're going to face pressure regardless, so that argument is a moot point.
Let's face facts: Do not fire Dave Roberts because he did not perform poorly...he led the team to 100 wins. Mookie, Freeman, Muncie & Kershaw checked out on 10/01 at the end of regular season. This was their 2nd consecutive post-season mental Leave of absence. When you pay that much $$$ for talent it is supposed to pay off.
It's literally his job to get them going. Managers get fired in every sport when their team dont perform.
@GoDodgerBlueScarletBuckeye checked out, headed to cancun! So take your sorry as with them too. We need winners not excuse givers
So keep him abs repeat next year
its Dave's job to keep his team on point if they are not hitting go to plan B thats Daves problem he has no plan b, his lack of emotion hurts him to
#Fire Andrew Friedman and FO!
#Fire Dave Roberts
We need a FO and Manager change!
Change is GOOD!

President of Operations/GM:
THEO EPSTEIN
If you didn't know Kershaw was going to fail in game 1, then you don't know Kershaw in the playoffs. A blind man could've seen that.
This is the 3rd year with the same old post season result, Dodgers bats gets cold vs playoff pitchers, their bullpens/pitching weakness gets exploited.
Dodgers need someone who can hit consistently during the season and playoffs look at the Phillies how their best players hit in the playoffs i don’t understand why teams like the Phillies play so well in playoffs it’s because they hit and score runs
What exactly does Brandon Gomes do?
Same ol same ol every year same conference
Why isn’t possible to get a Mike to the reporters so we can better hear the questions?
Let me be clear, Guggeunheim and company main goal IS NOT to win a championship
Analytics may work in regulsr season, but in the playoffs, all that crap goes out the window
At around 24:00, Friedman starts talking about "in game adjustments". Watch out Doc. Did Doc bring in Noah Syndergarten and Lance Lynn?
Who tf is syndergarten?
25:45 good question
The Postseason is different than the regular season!!!!!!!
I like most of what has been said, but Friedman is wrong when he answered that the regular season is the same as postseason, except for length. Over the past few years, maybe 10 years, it is very different, but it’s been different forever. A 162 season can mean a hitter can have a 10 game crap session but still get to play through that. A pitcher can have a five run first but still pitch 6 or 7 for whatever reason and pitch again in 5 days. The hitters area always loose, even with a slight “who cares” which means that if they are struggling, in most cases there’s a relaxed approach. In the playoffs, even a 7 game series, a hitter feels the pressure and can tighten up. Maybe that’s the question for our approach…what do the playoff greats do or have to keep them relaxed? How can we help our hitters get there?
Andrew taking the blame all on himself when he's the last person that should take any blame for what's happen in a negative way since saying he's done an amazing job with this organization is a huge understatement. I'm so thankful for Andrew and Brandon, and we're winning the World Series next year.
These two even use the same tone of voice. Must have the same speech coach….
Arizona got pure lucky! They are not the most talented team in the league except their second baseman. A bunch unknowns who got key hits and had just enough pitching to stop Mookie and Freddie. I remember the beginning of the season the experts picked the Dodgers in 4th place. San Diego was favored to win it all and they failed.
The opposing manager brings a lefty in and Roberts empties the bench. Then they bring a righty back in defense is scrambled and the bench is empty.
Dave Roberts and Kershaw must go.
Dave is fine. Kershaw can stay for one more year but can’t pitch game 1 or just keep him away from the nlds roster
same lame excuses.
With no accountability.

To be fair the injuries we had destroyed our starting pitching.
Ryan Pepiot should have pitched game 3, the 🔥 in our guys got washed out when Kersh gave up 6 runs in the 1st inning. Keep drinking your water Friedman, it took Gomes 20 mins to speak I want yo hear from the GM!
@@GoDodgerBlueScarletBuckeye 💩
Same speech from last year in my opinion. Dodgers need a new face as a manager. Try something new. Seeing the same face and the same ideas will get annoying at some point
You gotta love Andrew after this. I can see he really cares to win and he answers all the questions perfectly.
Stop it
It's even more clear to me now that media and fans would be bad at running a team. Conversely, I continue to have the utmost in confidence in the Dodger brain trust, including Doc. I can't wait for the offseason maneuvering to begin!
Now that I've read every comment, it's obvious that the best way for the Dodgers to win is to just put fans in charge of every other team, lol.
I just came here to comment - I already know THIS speech from last season... Until we get a bunch FIRED UP KILLERS like Phillies have 1-9 we aren't winning anything! I think Kasten is now the true target of my irritation because it's now in his court to get the required changes done, I don't expect Computer Nerd and his sidekick Gomes to fire themselves or Dave. Signing another nice guy in Ohtani will fill seats and draw clicks but it won't change the WS totals.
History shows that Dodgers win championships bc of their pitching. Now go out and acquire dominate pitchers.
Trade deadline acquisitions stunk. That’s
On him.
The problem isn't Roberts it's Friedman!
A question to ask: The dodgers have all this money for talent…why don’t these players want to come to play for LA?
Because they are soft and woke and don't win WS rings
Every year they fix what they think is broken when they get to the post season after winning the division. Why not try staying with what got us there?
If the goal every year is to win the WS, then one win in ten years , is a failure for Friedman…our team simply doesn’t show the grit needed to win in the post season…
You guys control one of the greatest regular season teams year after year. Seems like we have this conversation after every postseason under achieving. I believe you Friedman and Roberts don't know what you're doing in the postseason. Managing postseason is different than regular seasons but you guys do the same over and over we can't even get pass the 1st round embarrassing.
How about someone with more energetic leadership in the club house? Pls see Bryce Harper’s celebration…we need someone with that winning energy…Mookie and Freddie are too tame…
This guy left Rosario off the DS roster, preferred K. Wong.... Rosario shud have been starting over Rojas all year. WTF
I was surprised Wong made the roster, but the reality is the D'Backs feature right-handed starters and Rosario's success is against lefties. The Dodgers decide based on match-ups, not hunches.
@@yadthink its what makes dodgers management and roberts terrible..... they loooooooove that matchup crap, lefty/righty, righty/lefty
Translation: we could not have done anything else other than what we did. And we don’t know what to do moving forward
Same old BS, nobody is accountable.
"are bigger issue was the offense" 19 runs in 3 games? sounds like he is in denial because no major pitching moves where made before the trade deadline 🤡
Fire all management! Start fresh !! Look at the Astros, Rangers and Phillies !! Trashtros are gone these are new and improved !! Bochy 1st year and look where he’s at !! Look at Phillies eliminated the 100 and something Braves
Nolan Arenado and Shohei Ohtani ?
This has to be Andrew's last year if they can't make it past the first round. I actually think Dave Roberts did a good job in the postseason, not his fault all his pitchers got lit. Kershaw is no longer an ace, should be used more in long innings situations if he decides to come back.
I guess you were away from the tv when he allowed Lynn to give up 4 home runs in a do or die game. Not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 homeruns. Cant help you if you cant see how bad that decision was
@@tocadadj2951it was actually five since one was foul by inches…
@lauralara1091 at that point, Roberts should of just left him in to give up 10 homeruns. Fans would still said how great of a job Roberts did in the post season. Masterful 🤣
U just contradicted yurself.... if kersh is no longer an ace, then why Roberts "have to" use him for game 1???
As Astros fan that loves baseball, and i come in peace. Its just pointless to win the division anymore, who cares. Our teams, Astros, dodgers, braves all these division winners should just say screw it, we wont start playing good ball til August, get hot in September and stay healthy for the playoffs . Dbacks, Phillies Marlins etc show they dont belong there. Guaranteed if there is no layoffs for 5 days we'd be having a whole diff playoff scenario.
Cut Rojas, Heyward , Barnes, and whatever other softies we have

Didn’t want to pay Corey Seger didn’t want to pay Trea Turner. Both of them are still playing that’s an organizational failure at the highest level that’s Andrew Friedman
Really no good reason to keep Dave Roberts...or Andrew Friedman. The fans deserve much better than these two.
Friedman is the fxcking man. I don't know how he has the patience to answer all these questions without blowing a gasket while articulating his points so well.
SLUMPS ARE PART OF BASEBALL. Ask AZ !!!!!!
Brandon Gomes, lmao!!!!! What a joke
I CAN TELL YOU THE PROBLEM. YOU SAT ON YOUR HANDS OFF SEASON. AND THE TRADE DEAD LINE.
Exactly bro your 100 percent correct !couldn't agree more !
Owners should sell the Dodgers they dont have any idea how to manage a baseball Team like The Dodgers money making team solid fans
Fire him and Roberts ,...
Too much water, Andrew. No need to be nervous.
Everyone said fire Dave Roberts, then what? I just got the answer for that Jerry Hairston would be a perfect fit for it. He's being bold, courageous, confident, and fearless; ready to take risks. And his fire and chemistry will be good in regular season and specially shines in post season.
So Roberts gonna get fired errr nawwww…
Make changes to the coaching staff! I could win 100 games with this roster! Managers show there worth in the postseason.. Dave has failed miserably 90% of the time and that’s the truth. We need changes to the manager, hitting coach, bob gehren etc. this will happen again. This organization has become the laughing stock in baseball. I’m tired of hearing the same shit. Pitching was an issue game 1 but there’s no reason this offense couldn’t score 4 or more in game 2 and 3. There’s an issue with preparation and hitting approaches. Mookie has been insanely disappointing! 3-40 or something the past 3 years! Ridiculous, he needs to be Bryce Harper
It all comes down to mentality and mental toughness. There are players that rise to the occasion under extreme postseason pressure (seager, buehler, B Harper) and those that crumble. Mookie, Kershaw, heyward can’t handle the pressure. They are great regular season players but come postseason, they crumble. And Dave Roberts has no feel for the postseason. I’ve seen coaches come out to calm down their pitchers in stressful situations in the postseason and our coaches didn’t do that once. They let them drown on the mound.
Mookie has not performed well in the playoffs basically all his career can we please cut the bullshit. Aside from his stat padding home I’m WS game 6 he’s done nothing. He was carried to 2 championships by being on super teams.. same as Kershaw we continue to act that it’s just random which is the biggest problem.. Guys like David Freese, JT, Carlos Correa, Bryce Harper walker buehler. Show up in the post season every time they’re in and sure there are some guys that will be good one year and bad the other but let’s not act like there aren’t guys that just don’t have it and completely shit their pants every time the lights are the brightest (Kershaw, Betts)
Boycott the dodgers of Roberts and Friedmann!!!!
Kershaw has to go dude would fit at another team
Much of the same crap...God I miss the Lasorsa and O'Malley days.
Salad language and 0 results AGAIN , what is he actually saying?
Straight clowns
Blah, blah, blah. More give aways next year, bobbleheads and jerseys. More re-tread pitching and reclamation projects. Dave Roberts knucklehead decisions. Great stats during regular season $$$$$$.... Then sweep by a team that finished 20 games behind you. Blah, blah & blah.
