Great reaction! It's easy to forget that Su was only SIXTEEN years old (now 23)and a tiny 155cm vocal beast in this video! And they are at the prestigious Budokan arena in Japan. The Beatles, Ozzy Osbourne, Cheap Trick, and Bob Dylan have performed there too. This is one of my most favorite BABYMETAL songs and performances because it is the most badass yet touching songs I have ever heard: "Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love." 🦊🤘

Great reaction - and you are absolutely right, Su-metal is a truly gifted vocalist. There seems to be no style she can't master and her voice is so clear and powerful that it cuts through or sits above all the guitars and drums etc. When they played Tokyo Dome her former 'teacher' from their parent Idol group said he was watching with people from the music industry who were saying it wouldn't have been possible without her vocals as they carried into the furthest corners of the arena without fading at all.

    Good reaction, thanks!
Yep, "Akatsuki" is some sort of power metal and my favorite song, probably ever. The guitar work is simply amazing: the riffs, the solos... BOH's bass, flawless as usual and Hideki's drumming is the live definition of precision. The guy is a human metronome. And of course, the clear and powerful vocals of SU-METAL... she nails it. even being just 16 years old there. Just imagine what she's able now at her 23...

Still my favorite song and performance! That spinning stage really made that one memorable, and the duel guitar solos were the perfect intermission from her vocals, so she could catch her breath and really sing intensely for the rest of the song. It's like the guitarists performed Yui and Moa's job in that one. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • @satoru4797
    @satoru4797 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Nice! This was from Nippon Budokan in 2014. She was 16 here. Performing in a spinning 360 degree stage while singing stably. The guitarists here are Leda Cygnus (black guitar) and Takayoshi Ohmura (pink glittery guitar).
If you love their live performances, I recommend you to react to BABYMETAL - Headbanger Live at Legend 1997 or BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance Live in Japan or BABYMETAL - ijime, Dame, Zettai Live in Sonisphere 2014. They're all amazing performances and you will notice how much energy they put in their every 60-90 minute concerts.

Better than the studio version. She was SO young when she recorded this song. This was too difficult for her at that time but she nails it here. She is only 16 here but she recorded it years earlier.
Babymetal always has amazing drum fills. This is one of my favorite songs for that.

Akatsuki is always a great song that really showcases the all around talents of the group, and Su's powerful vocals. There is another version of this song that is just Su, alone on stage, bathed in blue light, with only a piano backing her. It's called the unfinished version and was only performed live once, at Su's 16th birthday concert called Legend 1997 (her birth year). It's an incredibly beautiful and sad (in a good way) performance that is very emotional. If you get a chance, please check it out sometime - th-cam.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/w-d-xo.html

Great reaction this is Su at 16 imagine how much she has improved now she is 23 .
The other 2 girls Yui and Moa are having a quick rest then will come back and do a Black BabyMetal duo while Su takes a quick break .
Seeing them live is awsome i have seen people when asked when seeing them 1st time " how was it " just burst into tears and thats just the big beaded metal heads ! .
Surrgest" Road of Resistance" live in Japan to react to . Experience all 3 girls together the Holy Trinity, Goddess Su and Angle of dance Yui and Angle of Love Moa theres a reason we call them that and you will see why the more you see and learn about them .
Welcome to your journey down the foxhole . Be warned the foxhole is deep . We ended up there but are very happy bunch . 🤘🦊🤘

Here's some of my reccomendation for you,
If you want to see more of their amazing shows:
'Road of Resistance Live in Japan' (the official video, but be careful with copyright strike, might want to cut a bit and/or pausing)
'Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of God intro.'
    'Headbanger from Legend 1997'
If you like some djent/metalcore vibes, you might wanna try:
'From Dusk Till Dawn' (there's no official MV and the live version isn't good enough quality, so might wanna try lyric videos)
    'Megitsune' (official MV)
'Karate' (official video, or from Download Festival UK)
    'Starlight' (official video)

Babymetal once a week and you're good for a year :)
The song itself was a straight tribute to X-Japan, king of 80's Hair-Power-Metal in Japan. If you like this kind then you may also like Babymetal's NO RAIN NO RAINBOW (take the Legend S 2017 version) or AMORE (debuted in Wembley 2016, compilations available in YT).
    Thank you ^^

    - Live BABYMETAL is best BABYMETAL! They have said themselves that BABYMETAL is meant to be experienced live.
    - This is one of Su-Metal’s four solo songs. Su (Suzuka Nakamoto) is the lead vocalist of BABYMETAL and is the one you heard in “Kingslayer”. Her other solo songs are “Rondo of Nightmare”, “No Rain, No Rainbow”, and “Amore”. There are also four songs that feature Moametal and Yuimetal by themselves, but you really haven’t seen them yet as you haven’t done a “proper” BABYMETAL song with the original trio yet.
    - Su was just 16 years old (born on December 20th, 1997) at the time of this performance, but make no mistake, she had already been performing on stage for about 10 years at that point. Already a seasoned veteran.
    - You’ll come to see that no two BABYMETAL songs are truly the same. They hit on a lot of different styles and genres. They have 40+ songs that are all very different.
    - Next, I’d recommend “Road of Resistance (Live in Japan)” or “Headbanger (Live at Legend 1997)”. Fair warning, “Road of Resistance” tends to have copyright issues so you may have to blur that video out in your video to pass through that stuff, but it is one of their “must see” performances.

Great reaction. In regard to Su-metal's voice (Suzuka Nakamoto, lead singer), she was chosen by Key Kobayashi (a.k.a. Kobametal, BABYMETAL'S producer) to build the group around. Kobametal said that he'd been envisioning the creation of a group around Suzuka Nakamoto's lead vocals & unique stage presence ever since 2009, when Suzuka's group 'Karen Girl's' disbanded. Suzuka was 10 years old at the time. When HEDOBAN magazine interviewed BOH, the bass player of the KAMI Band (BABYMETAL'S backing band, KAMI means god, spirit, divine being), BOH was asked if there were any instructions/requests from Kobametal:
BOH: The first one from Kobametal was, "No need to hold back by reason that they are a girl or an idol. Just do it as heavy and loud as you can."
Kobametal recognized early on that Su-metal's voice was capable of fronting a metal band.
    More BABYMETAL please!
    Arigatou! 🦊🤘 #notacult

I've seen from the comments that The One (as Babymetal fans are known as) have already offered their suggestions.... I would like to toss in two more that's less recommended, and as most fans know Live Babymetal is Best Babymetal.... One is Karate from Download 2016 (her crowd interaction in that one is beautiful), and a Tamashii no Rufuran. Tamashii no Rufuran is a cover song by Su Metal of a popular anime, and she sang this song during her birthday concert Legend 1997....It's not a often recommended song, but it rocks.

While this is great song, really showing off Su's vocals and featuring a great guitar duet, I don't really think it's a particularly impressive example of a BabyMetal live performance. Moa and Yui aren't there to incite the masses, and you don't really get any shots of the crowd at all. Not a wall of death as far as the eye can see. What you need to watch to understand what we are talking about is "Road of Resistance". All original members on stage, more fire in the air, more power in the power metal, and more circle pits in the crowd. Those three girls totally rule that arena!

    • @ANDOR-
      @ANDOR- 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That's the big drawback of performing in the Budokan. It's an all seating arena. No wall of death or mosh pits possible. There's probably nothing of that in their 10 BABYMETAL Budokan shows they do this year either. Another thing is, the stage is always in the middle of the arena at Budokan, so there aren't any possibilities of big LED screens like they had at Makuhari last February.
