Armelstreifen auf Deutsch
The name Adolf Hitler on the patches reminds me of the name Donald Trump on the covid relief checks. Dictators loves their names spead around.
Sepp dietrich was considered a dullard by most of the German general staff, he was not a strategist.
He was a long time close freind of Hitler, right back to the beer hall putch, but that did not make him a gifted general, rather, it made him a die hard national socialist whose commitment and loyalty could be relied upon.
His men were deeply loyal to him, and he to them, but amongst their ranks the majority had not even blinked when murdering civilians in Russia, or pows in Normandy.
On reading the telegram, dietrich knew the jig was up, he knew Hitler had no understanding of the realities of war, by issuing orders which simply could not be carried out or succeed.
Happily, these forces were never put under the command of manstein, guderien, or heinrici.
Waffen SS was under OKW operational command, Dietrich was not a Fieldmashall. Notably the LSAH was used by Fieldmarshall Model on the eastern front to great effect.
The SS were used with great effect especially during the Normandy / Caen battles by Avon Rundsdet
it was the patch " leibstandarte Adolf Hitler" that was ordered to be removed.
No, 'leibstandarte Adolf Hitler' was name of the division. Armband read only 'Adolf Hitler' as shown in the video
No such thing as Leibstandarte patch. It,s the signature cufftitle.
@@alansmith3327 the info i have IS that it was a motto "leibstandarte Adolf Hitler" not the signature. It was a shoulder patch.
@joseraulmiguens6699 your information is wrong. The insignia worn on the shoulder strap was LAH interwoven or worn as a slip over Not a patch. The Cufftitle which is the subject of the video was his signature. Check out Google for confirmation.
@@joseraulmiguens6699 17th Waffen SS Panzergrenadiers were known as Goetz von Berlichigen and had the "EisenFaust" color tab on the left.....they were known as the LMA division (Lech Mein Arsch).....look up Goetz on Google and you will understand!! It was something he said and did!!😀
"Hitler was doing his best to defend the odor". Did he ever think about deodorant? 😂😂🤣
Sometime the voice says 6th Panzer Army..and sometimes 6th SS Pamzer Army. The title SS was not applied until the beginning of April 1945.
It was not sleeves it was the cuff titles
Great vid!
...krap pronunciation of German formations.
