I can't wait for it to come in to the library. [Your review of the book kind of reminds me of "The Candle and the Flame" by Nafiza Azad because of the detailed background into the magic and the different types of magical characters like djinn.]

Okay this is a sign to put this on my book list, but it does sound like an amazing book that I would love. Also, I would love for them to make a movie out of this. I am all about books being turned into movies as long as it is done right like Memoirs of a Geisha was just beautiful, ending was different from the book, but it pretty much followed it.
I am almost done with the novel and I already know that this is going to be a series. I love how the characters are so well developed and the story us so intriguing

I agree on the pacing aspect - the beginning was definitely slow and I was nervous that I wouldn't like it. However, by the time it ended, I needed more. I just loved it. Ooooh Viola as The Lady. I like it. YES to Harry Shum Jr!! I think I'd cry if I had to see Sterling play a mean role. I just love him. The choice for Jeet is great too - I love him in The Resident. Ok seriously loving these choices. Now I need this to happen.
I finished this book at 2 am this morning and I've been consuming a bunch of reviews, interviews and a couple fancastings since I have no one to talk about it with. I really enjoyed this video and your casting picks even though I'm anti-adaptations. This book was so good that there is no way any adaptation could do it justice. This book is now one of my all time favorites. I listened to the audiobook so forgive my spelling. I love your Tarisai, Mbali, and Melu picks. I love your Sanjit pick, he looks tall! I would never guess that he's almost 40. Harry Shum jr is also an excellent pick and has a very youthful look about him. Sterling as Emperor is really good as well. I'm not familiar with the actor you picked for Daiyo, but based off of his pictures, he's not too far off from how I imagine Daiyo. Based off Thaddeus's description I imagined him as White but Jesse Williams skin could technically clash with the unity robes as well. I love Viola, but I don't think she looks younger than Sterling K. Brown.
I've heard so many great things about this book. I'll have to check it out. The connection sounds kinda like Sense8. I'm always hesitant with YA so glad to hear such praise. Great review! Also loving the dream cast

It depends on what they like but Geronimo Stilton is good. The Nikki and DeJa series by Karen English is really good as well.
