Stealing from Peter to pay Paul is just shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic. Government has more money to spend, but the public doesn't. It's a net zero proposition at best.
Better than the us. We've been in recession in reality since 2001. We undercount inflation, which masks the contraction. The us has lost many, many thousands of factories in this time frame.
This is simply how a market economy functions. There was a massive real estate bubble in china so building prices and therefor rents went far too high. So as all these shops close, at least partially because rents are too high for the stores to make money, the people who own the building will go bankrupt and the building will be sold to new owners at the new lower price. This will allow rents for the stores to fall and let the stores make money again since a much smaller amount of money will be spent on the rent. Overpriced real estate creates a lot of problems. The building owner needs the high rent to cover the loan payments on the building. But the rents are so high that it's impossible to make money, especially with a recession. This is how a market economy functions.
@HKim0072 People back during the Great Depression never had to worry about fake food, buildings, scams, and other products. There was no cultural and trust regression back then. Whereas China has lost their morality and trust of their own countrymen.
@@Nikotromus I don't even know if I agree with the concept, but commercial real estate collapsing could cause a systemic failure. China isn't as securitized as the US with debt. Regional banks in the US have "more" exposure to commercial real estate, but most of the debt is offload via bonds. The risk is spread out. Have to imagine that the net of Chinese banks have a way higher % of their portfolio in commercial real estate.
