My Cirrus SR22T Flight Sim-The next best thing to flying a real Cirrus

On today's video I walk you through how I put together a Cirrus SR22T flight simulator that truly is the next best thing to flying a real Cirrus. The centerpiece of my setup is the brand new RealSimGear Cirrus Cockpit but in this video I'll walk you through all of the equipment I use in my Cirrus sim.

Thanks Steve for the great review of our Cirrus Cockpit system, very glad you are enjoying it! One thing we wanted to mention in terms of views, by default we have assigned view mappings to the Audio panel as well using the unused keys you mentioned. Therefore starting with the button with the little telephone/musical note, that is mapped to view 1 and then across the top are views 2, 3, 4 for MUS1, MUS2, and MAN/SQ. Views 5, 6 and 7 are mapped to PILOT, COPLT, and PASS. Typically we set the mapped views as follows: 1=Forward, 2=Down and inside, 3=CAPS handle, 4=Outside view, 5=Left wing, and 6=Right wing. This gives a user the ability to look around as you mention, without the need for a StreamDeck (although that is a great addition as well).
Finally the MUSIC button has been mapped to deploy CAPS (will override if pin/cover are still in place), the PLAY button toggle pausing the sim, and the AUX will toggle the parking brake.
We have done this for a bit now to allow the user to not have to reach for the keyboard/mouse for anything once the flight has started.

This is great! I also have the Realsimgear set that you have. Glad you enjoyed it. Getting the sim dialed in is alot of moving parts including some that are not directly controlled thru the gear so it takes a bit of patience that's for sure. I've found the RSG folks are really helpful getting you up to speed. I'd give them a shout. I'm definitely planning on posting some more sim videos so stay tuned. Congrats on your new Cirrus.
