@@ellaeadig263 I've been saying 'Gotta get that cap.. get that...get that quick!" for almost 30 years now... wow. Hey Leon, can you quickly get me some milk from the fridge? Me: gotta get that cap! get that..get that quick! It works with anything! lol I say "nothing, you done it!" as well. So many quotes from The Late Show, I'm mostly just saying it for my own benefit these days, no one knows what I'm talking about anymore.
Who could forget those 2 weeks in September 2000. When Jeff Fenech carried the torch up Marrickville Road. When everyone watched "The Dream" with Roy and HG. When you would stand somewhere around Olympic Park holding your fist in the air getting a friend to do the forced perspective thing looking like you were holding the torch. Sydney trains had never run so perfectly and even the weather was perfect! The volunteers with their Khakis and White Yellow and Blue shirts. Sydney loved it so much that we ut on a huge celebration a year later.......which no one went to because of 9/11.
Been trying to figure out where the Bondi Junction footage is from. Outside 446 and 448 Oxford St, perhaps? The shows look different but the windows on the other side of the street and the building at the end of the street look right. It's also a pedestrian-only street.
@mubd1234 But consider this 7 Years later we would see Jeff Fenech, the Marrickville Mauler take the torch down Marrickville Road. One of the standout moments of those incredible two weeks. And since then we now have a Subway, and an Aportos Chicken while still maintaining the classic charm of the inner west which can be summed in three words Mick Mazzas Cycles!!!
Why do people think the announcement said the winner is Syd-en-ey? Is it because of the Late Show? He didn’t add a syllable he dropped one. He said the winner is Syd-ey. This misconception has taken on a life of its own. Here’s the real thing: th-cam.com/video/iAfnvyYVVsE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TqiNwpLVq-d_rTBJ
hey to all you australians out there the little kid with the red hair looks like the guy out of bondi rescue they young kid i can't remember his name, but they look exactly the same!!
lol yeh I remember that. A few of the previously good comedians ended up like the perpetually-useless ones like Dave Hughes, nothing but swearing and poo-poo and wee-wee jokes. No wonder Channel10 went broke
That pensioner at 2:48 makes me groan, but the audience laughed. Perhaps this woman was included in this segment just to show how silly, and irrational her racial prejudices were.
I've been saying "a nice cuppa tea mit toast" ever since this aired in 1993. It stayed with me.
Same! As well as "nothing, you done it!"

The old dude who celebrated by having a "cup of tea mit toast" is adorable.
The first part of this was recorded at Bondi Junction - I remember seeing them from a distance but I was too shy to walk up to try to get involved.
I have been laughing about the Late Show for the past 20 years - this still makes me laugh! TLS were the true original doyens of comedy. Love it!
It truly became champagne sketch comedy.
The 90s owned, everybody looked like they just crawled out of bed. I'm tired of putting some thought and/or effort into how I look.
Can't wait until 2000!!
I loved this show so much - thanks for putting it back on youtube
3:30 my favorite appearance from the entire show, something about that guy just makes me laugh
I love that guy!
Right! He's so pure, just having fun and laughing.
@@ellaeadig263 Id feel secure buying a car or getting a loan from this guy lol
I now want to go on the bus trip to Bowral.
ok its 9 years later... you still want that trip on the bus? we might both qualify through age now
@@TheNomad2727😂
Bus trip to Bowral. 😂
Still quote this video even while living overseas…. Hilarious !
I remember watching this when it first aired (1993?).
"How about you Whoppi" LOL.
Holy hell Mick Molloy is thin!
The theme tune to Dr. At large. A 23 yr old comedy reference now a 53 year old comedy reference. Half the people in that video are probably dead.
including the good Dr 😞
that lady who wanted the 1000 bed hospital should speak to jim hacker, he seemed to have the solution
This is one of my favourite clips ever.
Fuck I miss the 90s
Need more of this on the ABC - people going out on the street to talk about current events and taking the piss out of everything.
10 years after the olympics, and Marrickville is still stuck in the 90s.
20 years after the olympics, and Marrickville is still stuck in the 90s.
Gotta get that cap!
Get it get it quick!
I remember it well... The winner is Sydaney
Wow
oh my god, look how young mick molloy looks
And thin
Man the 90’s were cooked as.

The Dream was absolute gold. Remember the gymnastics commentary lol.

2:29 That old man is a trooper!! Hilarious!
Whoopi went on to become an australian test cricketer
I believe they used “Whoopi” for the big guitar solo in the November Rain video.
2:30 get dat get dat quik
Now THAT was awesome!
If it wasn't for these guys Aussie panel shows wouldn't have any street talk.
Yes. The Footy Show. Rove Live had the Roving with Rove segment. No doubt these took inspiration from The Late Show.
Norman Gunston was also a ground breaker

The banker lad had the best fun
great memories... too bad the dynamic duo (martin/molloy) dont talk anymore.
Geddat geddat, quick.
Richie Cunningham on crack😂😂😂

33 years
I think
All the early clips of D-Generation/ABC, Mick Molloy was quite a well-groomed, slim, good looking guy. I wonder what happened?
to be fair this was like 30 years ago
That pink whale car stayed at that Sydenham/St Peters servo for years
How the hell do I remember 90% of this?
I for one had a VHS with crackly bits at either end of not-quite-complete Late Shows that I watched almost to death.
Anyone know if the fireman making the siren noise clip is up anywhere? ta
Yes, I saw it a couple of weeks ago.
That was good. What about you, Whoopi?
Bar Jars... is that a trick question?
Barge arse. Was a cop show long ago.

omg is that really mick molloy
Where are these people now? Obviously not the dead ones...
The young people they interviewed would be at least in their mid 40s. The kid in the Helmet shirt would be at least 40.
A few years back I discovered the dude with the giggles. He's like real estate seller/life coach now. Still in Sydney.
@@mickanvonfootscraymarket5520 Pretty sure that kid in the Helmet tshirt was in a band called Noise Addict with Ben Lee.
The Olympics was a massive step in the total ruining of Sydney

Hi, this is the future speaking. Channel ten is still broke however they did a thing you may not understand back then. It's called 'woke'
@mubd1234 WHAT! I want to go there!
@Patricko78 Really? Did they fall out or something?

wow they were soo skinny back then...
Mick Molloy is so obnoxious in this.
*I've found Nemo **1:33*
Kudos to the kid that had a Helmet shirt. Fucken great NY alt rock/grunge band.
That shirt would be worth heaps now, and I'd want it
perhaps he also owned a "shirty" helmet
I was absolutely gonna write the same but didn't think anyone would get .. haha so epic
