The Dashboard Doctor is still at 71 Sydney Rd, Coburg. I moved down from Qld and lived around the corner on Moreland Road. I almost lost my mind when I found all these places nearby. :)
10 years later and the Dashboard Doctor is still in business, only they've moved to Dorset Road Boronia. I've only recently had them replace the dash and airbags in my WRX after I hit a roo. They do good work 👍

Job Warehouse was located at 54-62 Bourke Street, Melbourne and ran as a business from 1952 to 2012. It was owned by a Jewish man named Jacob Zeimer, who passed the premises onto his sons after he died in 2005. The family closed down the store in 2012. Nearby businesses were angered by the rundown and decrepit state of the building and despite several years of prospective tenants all offering to pay to use the place, the three brothers refused to allow its use and slowly let it rot. So much so that the front wall, roof and parts of the facade had to be restored after recieving several cause notices by Heritage Victoria! Currently a large group has a 40 year lease on the buildings and renovations have begun.

Tony and Mick were 2 of the go to blokes for Aussie comedy back in the day. I reflect on their schtick now and it makes me appreciate how brilliant Norm McDonald is.
Brick and mortar retailers in our cities can only look back on this golden era and wonder where it all went so horribly wrong. I'm guessing that firebombing tobacco shops hasn't really helped lure the foot traffic.

I prefer the 80s boxy look, has a nonchalant utilitarian charm to it. The same way The Castle movie is the most wholesome depiction of Australian's put to screen.
