- It's Spring time in Brisbane and we're going on a picnic! We're taking you with us to Roma Street Parkland where Spring will be celebrated during the entire month of September with free guided tours, live music, picnics, food vans, a multicultural festival and a plant market. We take a peek at the amazing flower displays a few days before the Spring program at Roma Street Parkland gets into full swing.....

Hi, we're Beth & Paul from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel!
Paul retired on 28th February 2020 and on the 1st March 2020, we set out on a 6-month adventure around South East Asia. This was a well-planned once-in-a-lifetime travel experience! It was our intention to show you how you can have a great time travelling without spending a fortune.
Our timing wasn't great - with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and subsequent global turmoil less than a month into our trip.
Until it is safe to travel internationally again, we turn our focus on travelling around Queensland and sharing everything our beautiful State has to offer!

Hi Ana 🤗 we drove through the Glass House Mountains yesterday and the farmers were selling pineapples 🍍 by the side of the road as they’ve just come into season…they’re always tastier (and cheaper) if you can buy them that way 😋

I don't have any in my garden, but they are always planted by the Return Service Monument in town and I get so warm and fuzzy when I see them 💗🌸💗. See another familiar thing. Absolutely stunning gardens …so very pretty. Our son has just informed us that he will be moving to Brisbane in Feb to live for a few years. We are going to miss him but that’s life. He loves it up there and although we have only been there once, I could see hubby and myself living there…hmmm..🌴☀️🍍🏝❤️

Hi Jacklyn & Chris 🤗 We didn’t know the Queen planted a tree at Roma Street Parlklands but we just researched it and there are photos of it on the internet! What a fantastic memory ❤️ As a child, Beth remembers the Britannia yacht sailing close to the ferry her family were on during a trip to Tighnabruaich (1976) in south west Scotland. The Queen, Prince Phillip and their children came to the side of the boat and waved at them…they were close enough to hear each other’s accents! Wonderful memories…..

I was there when the Queen with Peter Beatie Queensland Premier opened it and I remember before that park was started it was just a big dust bowl and railway goods yard an amazing transformation big time!

My grandfather worked in an office at the old Roma Station and I remember as a child going to visit him and looking out in awe at all the rail lines and trains … this was a long time ago in the 1960’s.. definitely not as pretty as today!
