I have a suspicion they went back and forth on when to play the scene with Eris laughing in a throne world. If they put it later, people would be upset that bungie keeps bringing back dead characters after actually thinking she’s dead for weeks.
It's upsetting that this is true. People would complain that Bungie doesn't have it in them to do what they did for Forsaken again and permanently kill off a character, but at the same time seeing Eris be alive the very next cutscene in either her own, or far more likely Xivu Arath's throne world is just disappointing.
I’m just thinking how different episodes would have been viewed if Heresy was the first episode and if the others were the same quality, the community would definitely be in a better state than it is now.
Bungie usually saves the best season for the end of the cycle to increase player interest for the next expansion. Season of Opulence, Arrivals, Lost, Seraph, and Wish. Now they do this on purpose to increase player count and player hype so more people buy the next expansion.
I feel like ever since Shadowkeep Bungie just makes the active choice to skim a little off the rest of the Seasons/Episodes to juice up the final one before the next expansion. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me, and yeah we get little bangers here and there like Season of Dawn or Season of the Witch. But Bungie can’t be shipping out Episode Echoes or Season of the Worthy and think it’s the same as Episode Hersey or Season of the Wish.
the nether needs to be a permanent part of D2 from here on out, by far my favourite episodic/seasonal activity Ever. Combining exploration with objectives gives me the same vibes that D1 exploration on the Dreadnaught had, peak in my eyes
Honestly I just came back, and I’m having the time of my life. I’m tired of people hating the game, I’m loving what they have put into the game. Perhaps losing some of the more toxic bits of the community may be a blessing in disguise, and let it grow more healthily, with a new more supportive community similar to that seen in warframe
I was way behind cause I stepped away for a couple other games. About 6 months total. Came back the week before heresy and have been hitting it pretty hard. Been a lot of fun.
every time people start acting like this the game is in a serious decline ive seen it with countless games over the years its never a good thing lmao i do enjoy the new activity but no the community is not doing well and losing players is always bad theya re being toxic for a reason

When he mentions how he wants patrol to feel dangerous; my first thought was all the outrage from players of how hard the Neptune patrol was lol; aint no way bungie going down that road again
Honestly I disagree, I think there would be speculation that she might be revived because of deep hive lore. How when Oryx killed Savathun and Xivu, he “brought them back” with trickery and war respectively. In the same vain, we could have gotten in the route of “bringing Eris back” with vengeance.
Nah they can’t win either way. You kill her off and the toxic part of the community accuse them of being desperate enough to kill off a key character. Bring her back to life. And they get accused of the same
@@hooky17it's a difficult situation that they really got themselves in with poor quality releases (on the whole). But saving the reveal for the end of act 1 would have been the better mover for most players imo. We get to morn with the characters while holding out hope for her return via hive magic.
I wanted to make 1 comment. Eris gave up her hive power a while ago. But there is speculation that this could be Xivu arath’s throne world that Eris took from her.
1:08 No, it's not just you. The Hive stories have a lot of impact to the world as a whole. Oryx with the Dreadnaught and Savathun taking the Light. Xivu has barely had any screen time but has still been a present threat since Hunted. Additionally, the Big 3 are complex characters with backstories and reasoning and ideologies and politics. Thats what makes them interesting villains. Eramis has been kind of a Mcguffin of a villain, showing up and leaving when its convienent but never really having any impact any time she does appear. Yes, she pulled the trigger in Seraph for the Warsats, but she wasnt the threat, Xivu was. The Cabal's last big villain was Calus' in Lightfall and a lot of people were kind of disappointed in his performance. The Vex havent had a named villain (one that wasnt puppeteered by non-Vex entities) since Panoptes in CoO The Hive do have a lot to work with, but so do the other races. Bungie just locks in with them for some reason
Personally my favourite faction by their lore is the Vex, but Bungie cannot for the life of them tell a good Vex story. Stop trying to give them individual big bads, lean into the Grey Goo/von Neumann replicator angle a whole lot more. Make their stories be about destroying their infrastructure to slow them down, or denying them resources, like GoS or SotW. The Vex have great in-game instances, it's just their arcing stories are anthropomorphised drivel...
@@IainG10 Curse of Osiris, for all its faults, had the best concept for a Vex story. They don't want to just exist in the future, they want to _be_ the future, and the Traveler waking up at the end of the Red War shifted their simulations juuuust enough that they found a way to make it possible. Putting a stop to that could've easily been a top-tier storyline, but Destiny 2's generally shallow nature at that point and the insane shortness of that campaign kneecapped it before it could really get off the ground.
Best season in a while. The seasonal activity is what I’ve been asking for, for years. I got lost in the first few runs on purpose and it was awesome. Not build on that and make the maps even more expansive! Cross what you touched on with maps is what a real MMO does. So it has to happen. I’ve literally been calling for this for so long! Please bungie save destiny
Mark, my words Eris is going to become the new "Navigator" like Oryx was and it is going to be because of her that we're going to be able to travel to other places in the universe after frontiers.
I’ve been gone since Final Shape wrapped up, and while I’m still not sure about coming back I really like the idea of the Nether. What a unique twist that actually forces the player to think about new options and engage with game systems. This sounds like an evolution of the Coil and if they keep this sort of stuff rolling steady I may hop back in.
If you own the episodes, you might as well play them. The first two are a little lack luster but having the ability to just power through it all will help. This episode, Heresy, is actually top tier and I think you should be here for it. The Nether is in fact a ton of fun and gives me hope for the future.
The thing I don't like about the Nether is it seems to discourage all builds except glasscannon builds. Limited healing is fine in concept but for it to be so limited it renders any form of healing except the one they want you to use useless, something had to have been lost in translation
There's a place for danger, but I want Patrol to be mindless chill out space thats got some level of dynamism to it. I spent more time in patrol on D1 than I did on anything else. Farming mats and testing different guns.
Just make the patrol zone full of more things to discover, secretes, nooks, caves, tunnels, secrets leading to more tunnels and just give us a reason to come back to do more patrols. I never actually had an issue with farming for materials in D1. I got to know every inch of each destination that way. Happy for there to be SOME very difficult areas in patrol zones, even enemies that are immune until I level up more.
first impressions really mean a lot, and like forcer said, if heresy was the first episode, the game would be in a MUCH better state community wise rn however this season does slap
Honestly this season has won me over this far. I had no idea that Eris dying would hit me so hard. Amanda Holidays death felt... Cheap? Like it didn't have any payoff.
I agree. My favorite episode so far, particularly with the story, I've NEVER been more invested. Mysteries are back, and they are finally setting up the next arc of Destiny! Literally S++ story beats so far. The only thing I wish was different is making the weapons more desireable to chase. Pretty much the only weapons I was chasing are the Area Denial and the new auto rifle...
Bugs to note. Tomb of elders, Contest of elders and Onslaught, all have the 300health, no health regen just like the new nether activity. -Workarounds currently are crimson or instant healing with ors of light Kells Fall no longer has champions. Tonics still work (Volatile) ones work with whatever you last had equipped in the last artifact. Material, armor and weapon tonics still work as normal Tonic quests have soft locked and can't be progressed on some characters or are gone entirely . -Mithraaks is back in the helm lab untreated even if you completed act 3 in the previous seasons -Eramis is back in the prison Ikora Rey says she has a quest for you (flashing purple icon on map), regardless if you have collected every thing from her like new dungeon quest and new light gear Overload machine gun artifact mod does not seem to be working that's all I've come across or found for now.
Weapon, material and armour tonics are still meant to work. It's how you focus Revanent gear. Just like you can still focus Echoes weapons with Failsafe.
Yeah, I’ve been really digging the story, the activity and the overall vibe! Love how many nooks and crannies there are in the activity too. Highly replayable
I had a completely different take on what Savathun said to us at the end of the dungeon. I took it as she's calling us a-holes, the Dread are trying to find a purpose and we deny them that especially since we took their purpose from them. We're killers first, usually damn the fallout
I want to go and retake Earth. In lore there are areas across Earth that we as vanguard haven't went back to. There is a reason its called the last city but what if it wasn't..
Everyone thats been around since the begaining of D1 remembera the runor that the story was stripped down to make the whole season model. I deduce the hive story was written from the jump and once the original writer was gone they had to figure it out... maybe one day we'll find out what the original destiny 1 full story was suppose to be
The details of this episode should give people a lot of confidence for frontiers imo. I think they are clearly stepping up their game and it will make a lot of people check it out, especially if they market frontiers as a new "starting point"
2:21 I think for me, I love the fallen but they took the two interesting fallen, Spider and Variks, and sidelined them for Misraks, Eido and Eramis, and they’re just not that compelling as characters.
I’m coming back to Destiny after about a year off. Previously I had played since D1 alpha. I’m actually starting to feel a little optimistic. I’m not sure it’ll bring back enough people, but I’m planing on playing regularly and doing my part. I’m really enjoying the gameplay and the huge lore ramifications Overall, it just feels great to see some positivity back in this community a bit. Keep on keepin’ on.
Heresy, is by far my favorite episode. The hive shit always cooks for bungie. I have never felt super strong as a titan, until they added that barricade that gives bolt charge. It is so much fun to watch everything get disintegrated with lightning bolts every second as i run around the dreadnought collecting loot and killing bosses and taken.
I think it would be amazing if Bungie made the planets how they are now. With the addition of certain POI’s being like the Nether upon entering them. Then those areas can rotate to other POI’s throughout the seasons to go along with the narrative.
i very much am a fan of the amount of loot in nether, having 3-4 legendaries per area is very much a breath of fresh air. He said it but its no longer get to the finish for loot, having drops throughout is very nice
Kinda unrelated, I keep thinking Bungie needs to give us a workshop. The amount of game modes and ideas that would spawn there I can't even begin to imagine.
I think holding back the Eris cutscene until weeks from now would have been a good idea but A.) Someone definitely would have datamined it because we can't have anything nice narrative-wise in this game anymore. And B.) Even though I and likely a lot of people thought Eris' death was a lot better and had more weight to it, some people may have accused this death of being Amanda 2.0.
exactly this. I personally would have loved the weight to waiting on the reveal. but the cynic in me knows that there would have been community outcry about "cheapening the effect", "what a letdown", "bungie can't do anything brave", "too scared to kill off characters", "we got baited", etc. etc. would have been bad press for a good story decision because people didn't like seeing a death & rebirth instead of just a death.
@bbagginsmcswaggins Honestly even though WE (the player) know she's alive, hearing Todd Haberkorn's heartbreaking delivery with her limp in his arms and in all the following communication segments between ourselves in Sloane still sell it. Sure, we can't take part in the grief personally, but we can still appreciate and empathize with what Drifter is going through. I still think it pays off insanely well.
This seasons great, I still think the amount of health you get should be instant but small instead of some dumb orbs you have to chase but I really enjoy it so far and of course it helps that its hive. The hive lore itself is what got me into Destiny, my friend back then begged me to try it and i did, didn’t really think much of it and probably wouldn’t of kept playing until I ran into a 5 hour lore video on byf explaining the events up to shadowkeep. First part of that was oryx and his ascension and icl that sht felt mythological asf. I was instantly hooked to the game since then. Even have the kingsfall raid ring when they brought it back to D2. So for sure imo this is their best season yet, between the new activities, hive themes, story etc
I just want to say i am loving this season (apart from the many bugs). I thought it was an incredibly bad choice to show that eris is still alive. Mainly cause not even two seconds after that cutscene we have to mourn in silence in her apartment where there is no real sadness cause we just saw she was alive. Bungie should have definitely let her death sink in and actually let us mourn abit.
One thing that is glossed over is that the Taken also have new abilities. Giving enemies unpredictable abilities feels good to not roflstomp everything.
I think Nether activity - is an evolution of activity from the Pale Heart: we also walking across entire location, killing enemies, complete some minor activities, and at the end we're fighting against boss
This season feels like the right amount of destiny at this point. It’s got a solid new activity and space to explore. While the weapons and gear are all pretty awesome with a solid dungeon to finalize what we will be doing for the next few months. Doesn’t mean they can just throttle the rest of the acts or keep players engaged forever but it’s a solid start.
I played very little Echos and no Revenant but I have been playing Heresy A Lot. It almost feels like a mini expansion. It's big. It's fun. And the story is good. And I am actually using the weapons. And changing up the other weapons I use. And modifying my build. None of which I have really done at all since I finished Final Shape.
I have a feeling that the Throne World Eris is in might make us get our own "player housing", or even the new apartments complex in the last city. An area where clan members can gather in a social place and decorate/have utilities
Did I ever feel a patrol zone was dangerous or mysterious? Yes. Once. Mara Sov's Dreaming City. The way we first entered on that foggy lake and pushed up to the higher ground while being under leveled making every fight a life or death struggle. The way that more and more of the area was revealed over time with some neat random encounters like tracking down high level enemies or rescuing stranded Awoken. It felt like the zone opened up with more to do not just for a week or two, but for significantly longer. Heck, even the little lore tour patrols you could go on were awesome. I still enjoy the Dreaming City. Still get a sense of awe out of it. Because it is beautiful. Because it is, in lore, a secret space. Because, in my opinion, the Awoken stuff is maybe the one other faction Bungie tells really good stories with when they return to them. Because the Dreaming City was small but so multi-layered that you really could push forward and end up someplace deep in a structure you'd never seen before weeks and weeks after release. I wish more locations could be like that. Open up over time like that. The Pale Heart was a decent second, but the Dreaming City was the best Destiny has ever been.
The Drifter VA crushed the emotion and pain behind that major cut-scene. The story does feel better this time around compared to the other episodes, have to see where it goes in the weeks following. Dungeon was a fun experience and mechanics were interesting for sure. Ready to see where this all leads too in the future.
I love the hive the most, I think it may be the fact they feel the most like our mortal enemies, the opposite of what a guardian is, and that makes sense lore wise
I think the concept that the nether has for itself where you have to physically survive with limited revives a great element to go further in when exploring the new exo planets! Your light might be a thin source of power- which makes sense because the solar system houses our traveler. Darkness could be much more apparent outside the solar system. But imagine if some day, we awaken some new darkness powers to help aid us in our pursuit against the whinnower? Imagine our ghost becoming corrupted from coming to contact with some darkness anomaly. But then you come back to Sol and he's perfectly normal. I think that would greatly add some spice to the immersion of this game
I couldn't play d2 when the final shape came out because of work, and i picked the game back up in november when revenant launched, and i've been having fun since. I like what heresy has to offer and i hope bungie continues to deliver bangers like it did with this first act. Also the voice acting from the final shape until now fucking slaps, i love it.
I've gotten through the Nether by thinking less actually. Just sit behind cover and shoot stuff. Run out for Wells when you need to heal and then come back to cover and shoot.
As long as you play private! Don't play w randos bc that's all they do. I want to look around and explore and make sure I find all the stuff and dudes just missing chests/important stuff, just to get to the next area. After one time with randos I only do private.
3:19 I’m glad I’m not the only one who that Bungie fumbled the story here. I think they’re so worried about angering their players, they put in the spoiler. Which weakens the plot and make my actions kinda pointless. I’m gonna avenge someone who I know is still alive…? smh lol
When they first talked about Codename: Frontiers, they mentioned the new Destination being very "Metroidvania" inspired, and I was a bit confused on what that meant. With the release of The Nether I can see what they mean now. "These games usually feature a large interconnected world map the player can explore, although parts of the world will be inaccessible to the player until they acquire special items, tools, weapons, abilities, or knowledge within the game." I believe this is what they meant by Metroidvania-inspired and I'm for it.
I slept through fickril's campaign and just grabbed the stuff for the season. I've always found the hive lore more interesting than most and am glad it's still going strong so far.
I really love the new activity, the story line has been good, boons are a great idea, artifact is actually powerful, and overall the season has been well done.
1:29 Bungie has a bunch of hive lore pre-written from the days of D1, and I think the Hive are by far the best fleshed out faction of enemies, especially as they were the first true “rivals” to the power of the guardians in a lore sense, being some of the first worshippers of darkness
Honestly Bungie hasn't cooked this hard on a season since Season of the Wish (S23). The Nether reminds me so much of the Coil, and it has brought me and a few other friends back and grinding that activity
What they are trying to do with the story and seasonal activityis exactly the stuff we kinda need right now. Bungie needs to take risks and introduce new ways to play the game even though a lot of people will dislike it at first. I know there are many people who hate on healing in the nether, I was there as well, but once I understood how it works, and the fact that simply going around collecting chests also rewards you with loot, really made me fall in love with the activity and enjoy the game again like old times. They simply can't recycle old content anymore because people are so fed up with the old formula, this is why I was always for destiny 3, a fresh start and yes, leave old loot and abilities behind, but, man, what they are trying in Heresy really gives me hope about frontiers, but I have to stay realistic and not praise Bungie too early because we know that as soon as Bungie gets a lot of praise for something, they relax, recycle old stuff and drop the ball big time...
I am enjoying Hersey so far and loving the new aspects and new activities really looking forward to the new trials set up to the point I am having fun making builds for trials now. I hope things do pick up but I don't blame ppl for not wanting to come back I barely did because of the way bungie has treated their employees so with that said hey they did really good on Hersey and hope it will get better as we push along
I don't think eris is dead i think when she became the most powerful hive in existence a little while back she got her own throne world and i strongly believe she will come back to life but i think she is waiting for the right opportunity to do so.
The healthy amount of loot drops is the biggest win about the nether for me in addition to the activity itself. For once it feels like bungie isn't being stingy with loot drops. If you are going to do random rolls imo the nether is how the drops should be not just from bosses but from actual chests and from exploring. And the addition of adepts and shinys was a nice bonus.
I had a break after Final Shape. I do this every year though i skip a season or 2 and come back. Im loving Destiny again. The Winnower lore drops have me very excited for the next saga. Breaks do wonders for enjoying the game. Now i have 3 episodes to go through in my own time
One aspect of the story I think most people don't really think about is the impact of not revealing eris's death in the promo material. Knowing cayde was gonna die before forsaken and that he was coming back in final shape ruined what could have been an shocking surprise in the expansion itself (even if it was still done well regardless). But not knowing what was going to happen to Eris made it way more engaging and I instantly cared about the story more than I ever did in episode 1 or 2.
I think the second onslaugt wasnt that goo because the loot insentive wasnt really there. Then add on top you can just use tonics to get the weapons anyway .
I'm enjoying myself with the new content... just wishing it was easier to heal in the nether. Leading up the release, I kept hearing people talking about how the activity would allow for different types of builds, allowing for more things like support builds. The fact that healing would be affected was known. Personally I don't mind the added difficulty, I just wish it was implemented better to allow for actual classes to be implemented.
I like that the nether actually makes you PLAY Destiny for once it feels like the power creep isnt there and you really are on the edge of support. Ready to see what else they bring
Yeah eris dying then immediately getting shown to still survive is exactly the reason why destiny has fallen off to me. I left after episode one. We really spent 4 months just for maya to dip out in vex milk. It’s like every impactful moment that could exist immediately gets shut down moments later before you can even feel anything. Even cayde dying was spoiled in not only a trailer but even the first few cutscenes iirc. The only moment in recent memory to actually have emotions and impact was when cayde sacrificed himself in final shape. But even for that I can’t help but feel his existence was just a plot device. More than anything I love destiny lore but to constantly see the story go like this just feels so awful. This isn’t an “I hate destiny” thing. It’s a legitimate complaint I’ve had for years. It just go bad enough to a point where I no longer cared about the story and left. Can’t expect people to care about the characters when they live and die and come back on a whim. Rohan even died because plot and was known for less than a minute. This is NOT how get people to care about your story.
@@giancarlo5945 because you missed the point. It’s not about the fact she came back it’s about the timing. She died then IMMEDIATELY came back in like the next cutscene. There was NO time to feel or care about what happened. Is it for plot and can be a development for the characters? Sure. But something like this seems like it would have happened later in the story NOT immediately after just happening. Even in the video cross said this might have been paced like this because of data mining. My complaint makes perfect sense especially when it’s even a complain in the video as well. If you see it differently then fair enough, but just because you do doesn’t mean it discredits how I see it.
I'm willing to bet you'd get mad had they not shown it and in a few weeks we'd see her alive and you'd be like "how dare they fake us out like that, we can't take anything that Bungie says seriously, I'm so done with this kind of storytelling"
@@DarkPyroZero Dude do you even hear yourself? People can have opinions and complaints, they are justified to feel that way. I don’t like that they killed a character then IMMEDIATELY showed them alive again. I’d be fine with it if the pacing was better. Some people may think killing a character and bringing them back in GENERAL is bad storytelling. Plenty of people felt similarly when Cayde came back. Or crow. Or any other character. It’s their opinion bro. If you are fine with how the story is told then good for you. I am not and I voiced my concerns about it.
I hated it at first, because of the bullet spongeness of some of the enemies, but I played a second time and I got better, even with the hard to kill enemies. Solid release.
Heresy is definitely better than the other season we got so far this year. This is my last season in Destiny, and I'm glad my journey with Destiny is ending relatively well.
I've been saying that you can definitely tell this is the season where they've been able to use the feedback from final shape, the other seasons were probably made too ahead of time to really use it
Just thinking out loud here- What if allied factions such as Eliksni(House of Light) and Cabals(Caiatl) having skirmishes against Taken invasion or Xivu's army around Sol as a Major public events and having us help out such faction skirmishes to earn faction based reputation for their unique weapon/armor or even an Aspect or Fragments for subclasses. Or.... Just straight up give us Taken Subclass or a brand new Class with it's own 3 subclasses. Something that can expand the current sandbox far beyond.
I don’t feel like the issue with onslaught is that it’s run its course, I still have a lot of fun on OG onslaught. Revenant onslaught just wasn’t difficult enough, it didn’t have the tormentor that made you panic, or the mines that made you scramble. Revenant was too straightforward and easy going, among other issues.
After not playing last season and coming back as I have paid for this. My character is 1990 and can't do some of the content because I am 15 or 20 lvls under it. It has been a fun ride.
I and many others seem to agree: the reveal is Eris being alive in her/Xivu’s stolen Throneworld, should’ve been saved for next week, or the third week. But, I hope knowing when to save a twist and let the emotional weight sink in, is something Bungie learns from. If we’re being constructively critical here.
Drifters Voice actor fucking killed it bro.
Always has honestly
Drifter been carrying destiny on his back
Todd Haberkorn is such a GREAT VA. So many roles in anime, my personal favourite being Natsu

I have a suspicion they went back and forth on when to play the scene with Eris laughing in a throne world. If they put it later, people would be upset that bungie keeps bringing back dead characters after actually thinking she’s dead for weeks.
True. My idea would maybe be hiding the cutscene in the nether as maybe a public event that’s guaranteed, potentially somewhere at her death site.
It's upsetting that this is true. People would complain that Bungie doesn't have it in them to do what they did for Forsaken again and permanently kill off a character, but at the same time seeing Eris be alive the very next cutscene in either her own, or far more likely Xivu Arath's throne world is just disappointing.

A few month later : AAANND IT GONE
As fun as this seems, i can’t justify spending 15-20 for an activity for it to later be removed and have it’s loot nerfed
Never coming back but I enjoyed your summary of what is going on.
Nether…. Coming back🤫
@@TheFonz8 I hate that this made me laugh
Just come back the game is fun
Bro just come back your not special for forcing yourself not to play, jsut play it bro😂
"look at me guys im different"
I wanted to make 1 comment. Eris gave up her hive power a while ago. But there is speculation that this could be Xivu arath’s throne world that Eris took from her.
I swear its always when the hive are involved its a good season
The Vex havent had a named villain (one that wasnt puppeteered by non-Vex entities) since Panoptes in CoO
The Hive do have a lot to work with, but so do the other races.
The new activity was fun for about 6-7 runs after that it was boring
Facts, the variety of the encounters is not good.
I quit since the last episode started, came back. It’s definitely worth coming back if you actually like the game
Same same. I dont have the time as well but i hope when i get back into it (bc i prob will one day) it has only gotten better. Its an alr start so far
meh it actually is boring
There's a place for danger, but I want Patrol to be mindless chill out space thats got some level of dynamism to it. I spent more time in patrol on D1 than I did on anything else. Farming mats and testing different guns.
Same here!
That's why different difficulties need to be a thing.
@@Lorentz_Driver1000% the biggest thing holding this game back
Just make the patrol zone full of more things to discover, secretes, nooks, caves, tunnels, secrets leading to more tunnels and just give us a reason to come back to do more patrols. I never actually had an issue with farming for materials in D1. I got to know every inch of each destination that way. Happy for there to be SOME very difficult areas in patrol zones, even enemies that are immune until I level up more.
first impressions really mean a lot, and like forcer said, if heresy was the first episode, the game would be in a MUCH better state community wise rn
however this season does slap
Honestly this season has won me over this far. I had no idea that Eris dying would hit me so hard. Amanda Holidays death felt... Cheap? Like it didn't have any payoff.
I agree. My favorite episode so far, particularly with the story, I've NEVER been more invested. Mysteries are back, and they are finally setting up the next arc of Destiny! Literally S++ story beats so far. The only thing I wish was different is making the weapons more desireable to chase. Pretty much the only weapons I was chasing are the Area Denial and the new auto rifle...
really? man you’re easily impressed. theres lore youtubers walking away from the game because the story sucks
The sword is really good. Has a perk around transferring damage after defeating rank and file enamies.
@@clockworkslave0180😂who lol evaze byff and the other gentleman I forget his name are all feasting on lore. I think your just being a wet blanket.
Thanks for giving us your insights Shaw Han ❤
Bugs to note.
Tomb of elders, Contest of elders and Onslaught, all have the 300health, no health regen just like the new nether activity.
-Workarounds currently are crimson or instant healing with ors of light
Kells Fall no longer has champions.
Tonics still work (Volatile) ones work with whatever you last had equipped in the last artifact.
Material, armor and weapon tonics still work as normal
Tonic quests have soft locked and can't be progressed on some characters or are gone entirely .
-Mithraaks is back in the helm lab untreated even if you completed act 3 in the previous seasons
-Eramis is back in the prison
Ikora Rey says she has a quest for you (flashing purple icon on map), regardless if you have collected every thing from her like new dungeon quest and new light gear
Overload machine gun artifact mod does not seem to be working
that's all I've come across or found for now.
Still love the fact that, even content creator, bungie dev, and players still call them seasons. No rebrand gonna save them
I had a completely different take on what Savathun said to us at the end of the dungeon. I took it as she's calling us a-holes, the Dread are trying to find a purpose and we deny them that especially since we took their purpose from them. We're killers first, usually damn the fallout
Being how much of an asshole the Grimm and husk are you damn right im going to take their purpose from them
I 100% agree. It was a backhanded insult. Just like she did after all of those Overthrow activities. Gosh I just love her character.
I want to go and retake Earth. In lore there are areas across Earth that we as vanguard haven't went back to. There is a reason its called the last city but what if it wasn't..
Achievement Hunting has been a blessing to me in this game. If one thing gets boring or repetitive, there is always something else to do
I don't blame them for sleeping next to the large paracausal object, its good white noise for taken a nap
Everyone thats been around since the begaining of D1 remembera the runor that the story was stripped down to make the whole season model. I deduce the hive story was written from the jump and once the original writer was gone they had to figure it out... maybe one day we'll find out what the original destiny 1 full story was suppose to be
They killed that vision the second the stranger became a random side character giving us stasis 🥲 the illusion of mystery is gone
The details of this episode should give people a lot of confidence for frontiers imo. I think they are clearly stepping up their game and it will make a lot of people check it out, especially if they market frontiers as a new "starting point"
"Clearly stepping up their game" like witch queen... and then lightfall came out. It's happened before
2:21 I think for me, I love the fallen but they took the two interesting fallen, Spider and Variks, and sidelined them for Misraks, Eido and Eramis, and they’re just not that compelling as characters.
I like the fact that with the new Titan arc aspect you can use any weapon and still get arc buffs
I like that you get drops throughout the activity too instead of solely at the very end like the rest of Destiny's activities
The sand box changes alone are amazing just being able to do great damage with a huge variety of abilities and weapons just makes me so happy 😊
Bungie has definitely captured a little of that old magic. Let’s see where it goes!!
I was immediately bored, and I have the "Reckoner" title
i very much am a fan of the amount of loot in nether, having 3-4 legendaries per area is very much a breath of fresh air. He said it but its no longer get to the finish for loot, having drops throughout is very nice
Kinda unrelated, I keep thinking Bungie needs to give us a workshop. The amount of game modes and ideas that would spawn there I can't even begin to imagine.
I really love the nether activity I just PRAY that they give us more bosses, rooms, and areas to explore as the episode progresses.
Logged in for the story and stayed for the loot! Sandbox team just COOKIN rn 🔥🔥🔥
All of my friends and I have been grinding the new season and dungeon. I personally really enjoy this episode.
FYI, the best void auto for soloing the first boss of SD is Ros Arago IV with Rewind Deconstruct. Minimal reloads and a 40% damage buff
Does the boss count as vehicle?
@ yes
Finally my opinion has come!
noooo the crossers taking the datters thing :(
The Drifter VA crushed the emotion and pain behind that major cut-scene. The story does feel better this time around compared to the other episodes, have to see where it goes in the weeks following. Dungeon was a fun experience and mechanics were interesting for sure. Ready to see where this all leads too in the future.
11:04 That’s going to be the focus going forward. Putting an end to the flower game.
I've been away since start of Echoes pretty much, Heresy has brought me right back and I've got that itch again!
God damn I've missed Destiny!
Heresy is dope and the motivation behind me being able to stomach failsafe for the exotic auto and shotgun
How dare you insult her
I couldn't play d2 when the final shape came out because of work, and i picked the game back up in november when revenant launched, and i've been having fun since. I like what heresy has to offer and i hope bungie continues to deliver bangers like it did with this first act. Also the voice acting from the final shape until now fucking slaps, i love it.
Really big fan on the nether. Makes people think instead of just run and gun.
Ive literally just been running and gunning. Its not that deep
Exactly. Like past seasonal activities, you can do in your sleep. But for nether, you have to be awake.
I’m gonna avenge someone who I know is still alive…? smh lol
Nearly everyone shit on Neomuna being a difficult patrol space, Mr Challenge.
When they first talked about Codename: Frontiers, they mentioned the new Destination being very "Metroidvania" inspired, and I was a bit confused on what that meant. With the release of The Nether I can see what they mean now.
"These games usually feature a large interconnected world map the player can explore, although parts of the world will be inaccessible to the player until they acquire special items, tools, weapons, abilities, or knowledge within the game."
I believe this is what they meant by Metroidvania-inspired and I'm for it.
It’s the best launch of a season in a while, refreshing
Now i have 3 episodes to go through in my own time
It's two different games now
One aspect of the story I think most people don't really think about is the impact of not revealing eris's death in the promo material.
But also yeah bungie for some reason always cooks with hive stories way more than any other races lol
Honestly feels like an expansion, not just a season/episode, I like it so far
Dreadnought patrol+ court of oryx would've been insane 😢
i for one enjoy the navigator exotic, it is fun AND useful! (i get that trace rifles DO need a better buff)
I'm honestly having more fun in Heresy than the last two seasons combined.
Also. The ending music is top notch
One other thing about Nether is that you get more loots from exploring the place than just rushing to the end.
This is an insane improvement compared to the others
The reviving of Eris is perfectly justified in the plot and is a logical step for the character, your complaint makes no sense.
Dang, cross is almost at a million i remember when I first subbed he had like 450k bros growing fast
I hated it at first, because of the bullet spongeness of some of the enemies, but I played a second time and I got better, even with the hard to kill enemies. Solid release.
Came back this season. Am enjoying it, i hope they fix their issues soon if not, it was fun
Heresy is definitely better than the other season we got so far this year.
This is my last season in Destiny, and I'm glad my journey with Destiny is ending relatively well.
As a Hunter main, Classical Healing Is easily the best boon upgrade IMO. Wish the healing burst worked on teammates as well tho.
I've been saying that you can definitely tell this is the season where they've been able to use the feedback from final shape, the other seasons were probably made too ahead of time to really use it
Right next to the bed there are three of Drifters coins which I thought was funny. *Ting!*
Cause we all like that medieval vibes from the hives
After not playing last season and coming back as I have paid for this. My character is 1990 and can't do some of the content because I am 15 or 20 lvls under it. It has been a fun ride.
I and many others seem to agree: the reveal is Eris being alive in her/Xivu’s stolen Throneworld, should’ve been saved for next week, or the third week. But, I hope knowing when to save a twist and let the emotional weight sink in, is something Bungie learns from. If we’re being constructively critical here.
