Lengua Tacos are definitely my #1 taco! I tried it first in New Mexico on a bit of a dare (along with seso and chiva tacos). Lengua became my favorite. And as you said, it's really just a big muscle like any other meat we eat. Thanks for the video!
Wow what a great recipe. I cooked mine a total of 70 minutes because I wanted to shred it. It was perfect for that. Tip: Dice about a 1/4 onion and sauté it for a bit in a little oil then add the shredded lengua meat then make tacos with avocado and hot sauce so good. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe with us. I appreciate it!!!
I'm doing one right now with a bit of pickling spice, garlic, celery salt and onion powder. My Mom's recipe from 65 years ago. It was moose back then, but cow will do. Enjoy.
That is my family's favorite taco's! I jusj cooked 2 beef tongues last weekend in a crock pot! I love this stuff topped with a little diced white onion and cilantro! I also like to slice it and make a sandwich with it! Thanks for sharing Jaxx!
You know, it's funny, I always look up recipes even if I know them just out of curiosity. Who shows up on the search.... :) That's exactly the same way I make it and it really is so good.
They look good all we do is boil lengua with onion, garlic and Bay leafs. We don't fry it just cut it and eat it with cilantro, chopped onion and green avocado salsa. 😋
It's definitely popular around here in our authentic Mexican restaurants. I am surprised that a lot of people I know don't have as adventurous palates as I thought they did.
This IS what’s for supper tonight! Although I dont have those peppers, are they hot? I do have Anaheim peppers I think I will use those. Cant wait to try!
Hello. I have had tongue before and I totally love it. I have never cooked it and I think the look of it would be kinda hard for me to deal. No doubt it was so very tasty. I would have love to see the taco too but I was trying to imagine ! 👍
I personally don't do anything with it, but it's only because I haven't thought of doing anything with it - you're on to something here Vincent! I do save other liquids for soups and I'm sure this would be delicious for soup!
In México is expensive because everyone wants it but is a really small portion. Actually, lengua and sesos tacos costs $25 pesos and pastor, bisteck suadero costs $10. Too much demand and not much tongue on one cow.
HA HA HA!!! Back in 1999 our new neighbors invited us over for dinner.... roast beef, taters 'n onions, green beans and warm rolls ..... excellent "roast beef" .... HA HA HA!!!!! She told us about half way through dinner.
Hey dont be tonguing your tacos hahahah excellent looking meal bro! I would Need a bit of cilantro a lil lemon a radish on the side and some fresh jalapeño to go with it

I agree my friend. It's definitely one of those foods that don't get enough attention.

So glad you enjoyed it Agape Love! Will definitely try your tip!
This is great bro. I must say I was raised on a farm and have had basically every part of cow except the tongue. This makes me want to try it.
The best tacos ever yes my kids loved it and after I told them what it was and they were confused whether to like it or not lol priceless

How long did you cook in the crock pot?

I have never heard of anything like this, but it did come out looking pretty good
Man ,cow tongue is some of the best meat for tacos, nice and tender with good texture.
That looks delicious. I’ve had it before, but it was cold like a roast beef, but much, much better.
Roger that! I'm expecting this video to bomb! People are turned off by tongue!
I've never had beef tongue but I've heard it's delicious. Now you're saying it's good, I'd definitely give it a try. Thanks for sharing😃
Definitely, you should give it a try. It's good in the slow cooker as well. I bet Lloyd would be happier than a puppy with two peckers :)
Jaxx Drinkwater 😂😂that's a good one😂😂
Its a little funny lol.
Many people scared, but in Mexico is one of the most famous and tasty tacos!
Hi Jaxx, you are making me hungry, this looks so delicious...thanks for sharing, have a great week ahead 😊
Thanks Ernest you have a great week as well my friend.
They look good all we do is boil lengua with onion, garlic and Bay leafs. We don't fry it just cut it and eat it with cilantro, chopped onion and green avocado salsa. 😋
Sounds great!
I lived in New Mexico a good part of my life and it's a staple there. Thanks Jaxx!
Playing catch up. That’s a lot of tongue, oh baby! We just got an instapot and gonna be trying some Jaxx recipes for sure!
Backcountry Exposure do it. Instapot is the best
Tacos de lingua la vaca!
I just cannot get past the thoughts.... when you peeled back that “Skin”... omg.... enjoy it....
But I'll bet you'll eat the hell out of some frog legs won't ya! haha

Mm mm bomb ass tacos for sure never made them but have had them before so freaking tinder oh yeah . Maybe have try doing it yeee!
I make a pate with tongue, onions, liver, and pork fat. SO good!
That sounds amazing Justin!
Some of the best tacos I've ever had - so freakin' tender!
You’re awesome Jaxx, but I just can’t do it. lol
Sweet brother hope u get to feeling better
Roger that brother. Thanks for stopping by Grant. I miss your face!
Jaxx Drinkwater your way to sweet...lol...always a pleasure my friend
Hey I was scared to try it myself when Tom introduced me to it..it's the best damn meat ever! DO IT!
I knew me and Tom were kindred spirits. :)
Tongue is good 😀👍
what do you do with the liquid/broth after the tongue is done cooking, do you discard or keep it for soup?
I personally don't do anything with it, but it's only because I haven't thought of doing anything with it - you're on to something here Vincent! I do save other liquids for soups and I'm sure this would be delicious for soup!
hmmmm....... not sure about this one but you've never steered me wrong, Jaxx, so I'm going to try it. Thanks. I think. LOL!
No worries! I totally expected this video to fall flat with people. It is delecious if one can get over the fact that it's a tongue.
What's the cooking time for lamb tongue which taste much better?
I only get beef tongue when I get my paycheck or on some special days. They are like $25, and it really doesn’t make sense to me they are expensive.
In México is expensive because everyone wants it but is a really small portion. Actually, lengua and sesos tacos costs $25 pesos and pastor, bisteck suadero costs $10. Too much demand and not much tongue on one cow.
Think about it just one tongue per animal. It will get mucho more expensive once more people realize how delicious it is.
Hmmm... I,m not too sure about this, but if Jaxx likes this it must be good.👍
my dog gets a treat when i make tongue, he gets the skin.

Good job, but I am not sure about beef tongue. Looks more appetizing after you fried it.
I don't know if I have the courage to put one of those in my shopping cart.
Hahaha grow you a pair! I've seen some of those MRE'S you eat.
Growing up I remember liking young to liver.
Do you really need to brown them
No that's totally up to you.
I am not sure about that . LOL I may try it but iI don't like something That you eat That may lick you back. LOL Good stuff.
Awww man you are missing out I tell ya!
Moose wants to lick it and Nathan would do backflips for that Jaxx!! Always delish over in your kitchen man! Bomb!👍
Hahaha speaking of Moose where is that little B?
Not sure...Andy might have locked him in the basement forever? It puts the lotion in its skin!
Luv ya man but....NOPE. LOL
Steve, you just lost "Alfa Male" HP with that statement. You must have put Preparation H on your ball sack! hahah
