The last three years I have gone back to using PVC-waders for most of my flyfishing and restoration on the local waters. There are both pros and cons with them.

Hi Thank you for this very useful advices.
Following them I just bought my 1st Waders.
I feel very confortable in it but I realised that when I sit down then the waders blow up with air and the air stuck in my legs. Is it normal? or is there a tip to remove it or avoid it?
    Thanks a lot.

Have not worn chest waders in years , waist waders are just far more comfortable , easy to maneuver.

Oh yeah, I always have a pair of hip boots. They fill the bill for small stream fishing.

Once you try zippered waders, there is no turning back

Your explanation seems to imply that waders are made from Gore Tex. Gore text is a membrane material that is covered on the inside by another material. Nylon, polyester, etc. I could be wrong, but I’m not sure waders have multiple layers of goretex, but rather multiple layers of another material to them from punctures.

Other layers of material would defeat the work of gore tex. think about it

@@kansasscout4322 goretex is just a membrane that”s layered between other fabrics. It’s the most expensive element and there is no need for multiple layers of goretex. One layer keeps the water out and lets the vapor through.

@@flyguy2021I’m not sure about other brand waders but I know simms uses multiple layers of Gore-Tex

Once in the water all the breathability goes out the window.

If you've ever worn 5mm neoprene waders in the spring you'd know there is a big difference! 😂

Always see people wearing waders standing where they should be fishing. Been wearing waist highs for years

You have Wading pants, in 99% all chest waders. That's why the clips are he-she to make a belt. Not the same, but days go from hot, too cold and wet.

The best waders are the cheapest ones. You are not making fashion statement to the fish. Breathability is overrated. What is important is that one should go through thorns, poison oak and bush like a German tank. Waders should not last more than 2 seasons. Booted waders are the best knowing that if you are sunk into silt up to the knees, the next fishing hole will provide the full wash.
