One of my favorite Holdfast memories was when we had a troll of a sapper in our spawn. He was walling us in, micspamming Trump speeches, generally being just-shy of outright irritating. We kept telling him to get out of the way, do something productive, we were losing the game. So he stops building the wall. Builds an explosive barrel. Carries it to the blockhouse we'd been trying to dislodge the Prussians from all game and, blaring the ISIS anthem, runs in and wipes them.

This is literally my wet dream of 17th century warfare come to life. Just holding down a fort through a narrow checkpoint that's extremely heavily fortified and just start blasting over and over and over against a significantly larger army... Oh god, im gonna come.

Really goes to show the power of segmented defense on a gentle slope.
You can over run one or even two lines but the ones behind it will paint every inch you take red before you do.
you forgot about wonderful feature starring glitching into the walls/rocks etc and bulding invisible swivels inside of it, had me almost ban few times lol

of course my dude, I did that several times on almost any map that had a weak spot easy to glitch into. I used infamous boom barrel that placed properly under your avatar were uplifting you into the texture, wonderful times

It's been a long while since I played Holdfast: Nations at War, but I remember using the carpenter class in non-competitive matches as basically an assault trooper; Run into an entreched enemy position and wreck 'em with the blunderbuss in the tight spaces. Good times. Maybe I should play it again and return to the regiment I was in
I love the carpenter as well! I wish the dapper had the blunderbuss because that would be the most op set up, maybe in the next stream we try and hog all the carpenters and sappers for the stream and video idea! Would be OP if we took over a house too!
@@Pilps You'd basically have a team capable of fortifying and booby trapping a house (via palisades, spikes and eplosive barrels) that can also repair the defensive structures and use shotguns for the few enemies who get inside. Nothing short of a cannon is breaching that Rorke's Drift hospital
