As native Shanghainese living in the Netherlands, I'm so proud to hear that Shanghai and HongKong take top 2 places. Of course I like Hangzhou very much also. When I was a little boy I always went there with my family to Hangzhou for a weekend trip since it's so close to Shanghai.

For what it's worth, here are my thoughts as a septuagenarian
. Been to five of the places.
Hong Kong a few times before the riots - a wondeful place to live, fantastic climate, but accommodation so expensive.
Shenzhen - a stones throw from Hong Kong. similar climate, a great and exciting city for the young.
Beijing - loved staying there, fascinating city but we found it so hot in the summer and no doubt would have found it too cold in the winter for a couple of retirees.
Shanghai - loved it there, wish I could have stayed longer and hopefully will go back again next year. I think I could happily retire there.
Chengdu - spent a week there in October. As much as I liked the city, the air quality was so bad during that time, I don't think it would be a good place for us oldies to live
Guilin - loved it. Staying by the lake with the two pagodas was probably our favourite time in China.
Been to many other wonderful places, Chongqing, Changsha, Kunming, Nanning, Dali, Xi'an and others, but as a retiree, my choice would be Guilin in the summer and Shenzhen for the winter. But of course, I've only scratched the surface of this massive country and when this covid is finally over and I can continue to explore more of China, I could well change my mind.

Don't you think this video avoids the developed perspective of China cities? I can't see Weilal Keji Cheng and Qianjiang Shiji Cheng of Hangzhou.

@@jamesturing7135 all chinese cities are very dirty (even Shenzhen), because it's heavy industrialized country like England in 19th century. But I think this rank is for chinese, not for americans or europeans.

No. 1, 3, 4, 5 are very close cities (car commute is about 1-3 hrs max). They are located in the same area (east of China)

Intelligent and decent people want to earn their income, and if countries shut down our incomes, then
you pay for everyone with your scamdemic and death jabs.
Every country can be clean and safe, but it is up to the leaders and the people. Look at Singapore. The world should have all the laws of Singapore.

the best quality of living in Asia I think in japanese cites (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Fukuoka...). Plus maybe Seuol, Busan, Taipei. That's all ! )) I would not live in Hong Kong, Shanghai or Singapore. Overcrowded, overpriced...

OMG, never fails, whenever a non-chinese narrates a China topic, they always mispronounce names, never bother to look it up in Google (so easy). Example, you said: "John jin"?? There's no such place.

Most of the cities introduced here are only good for tourists. If you wanna stay long time such as a year there are too many place better than them for example: mostly summer weather city: HaiNan four season cities: Wei Hai and QingDao and PengLai. The four cities are cleaner than most of above 10 cities. Also: XinJiang, Xi Zang and Zhang jia jie are wonderful.

She also is calling tianjin "John-jin" when it's pronounced phonetically as its spelt😂 "tea-an-Jin" (I take it back, all her pronunciations are wrong, it's not a non native issue but rather just her inability to pronounce things the way they actually pronounced 😂

I am shocked that HK is on the list! Who compiled this list obviously hasn't been to or lived in HK! HK is crowded, noisy, expensive and affordable housing is like a white rhino!
The people are also belligerent! Always protesting against China rule.

Honestly, as a Chinese living abroad, I don't think this video has good shootings, as it seems to hide the developed perspective of China cities, actually, the cities are much more developed and modern than they look in video. If you are a foreigner, I highly recommend you to explore China by yourself, you will be shocked by their flourishing, developed and bustling.
