How nice to discover an old village of Japan. Japan always gives this extreme modern image of Tokyo, but the countryside of Japan is so peaceful and beautifu. I have the chance to stay a few days in a village near the Lac Kawaguchi, the quiet village is so charming and peaceful with 3 lines of bus which can take you anywhere. Thank you so much for sharing!🙂
I was here in February 2019 and spent a night in one of the Gassho-Zukuri. Cost around 12,000 Yen for a 1 night stay for 2. The host prepared for us traditional Japanese sumptuous dinner & breakfast. Trust me the surrounding area is transform into one magical fantasyland during winter time. Will definitely be coming here again once the border restriction is lifted.

God has Truly Blessed Japan , Its such beautiful country with amazing people . even though I have lived for 25 years in Japan I still get excited and Happy . I Love Japan and wonderful people of Japan . such humble , modest , shy , highly educated , safe , with interesting culture and customs . Delicious foods . I can go on !!! Kokoro kara kansha shimasu . Nihon ga koishi .
I learned about this community several years ago and they were off-grid then. I see now that many have traded the thatch for tiles (which last longer) and I saw bulky, white cables running around one of the buildings. So, I guess the _keepers_ are getting tired of old preservation techniques.
I think it’s because people still living over there , they had to adjust the village for the basic needs , water , electricity and road access…. and about it’s true , they are loosing some old ways of preservation… like the Okinawa castle that got in flames … I read they can not remake as the same due , some parts of the architecture “ the roof “ the old carpenters died without teach the techniques … so , will be replaced with something looks alike , but not the same .
So stunning scenery and peaceful villages. Love the serene surreal environment. How I wish I can visit this place in Japan one day. Great job with the beautiful music!

Very nice video tour. Heritage Valley on a cool rainy day. Seems to be a mix of traditional and modern homes/structures and infrastructure. Much respect to the residents. At 19:45 timemark, that structure is really impressive as a sample of the architectural style.

Is it weird that I have seen this village before...in a dream like 20 years ago....except there was a road the came from a hill leading down between the houses into the village...and maybe less trees ..or the trees weren't as big....crazy..also in my dream the was a entrance way ....leading to some steps...with a red symbol on it
So soothing and calming to watch. I remember seeing such villages in cartoons when I was a child, they were perfectly depicted. Were houses turned into motels and shops? Looks like no body lives actually there.
some of the houses still people living there …you can see some houses with car and bicycles parking in front of it , plus , was a week day ..some people where working…
It was very moisture this day due the location on the valleys… also Japan have very low altitude clouds close to the mountains where I think it contributes for such moisture … I like this weather conditions while go for camping on forests 🌳. and clear sky when close to the sea .
It would have been nice if we knew what we were looking at. You can get an app or program to just type in your narration and the computer generates the voice for the narration.
