What strikes me the most about how they view the houses is when she mentions hanging her laundry outside. The majority of Americans, even poorer ones, don’t hang their laundry, we use a dryer. Something that is commonplace for us that we don’t even think about being a luxury, like a washer/dryer, a deep freeze and large fridge, a big yard. Most of us just have always known some or all of these things when others, even in very developed countries, see them as luxurious. Really shows us how much we should be thankful for.
It's literally just not common there. It's not a wealth thing. When I went to Korea they had the fanciest washing machines but no dryer. Same in Germany, we could get a dryer but we don't think it's necessary and a fire hazard lol.
As someone from oahu I'd say that everyone here hangs their clothes outside :D and also everyone leaves their shoes outside the house as a form of respect when you enter and also cause we are just asian influenced but also I hear that from the mainland that it's also because there isn't sun? :0 correct me if I'm wrong! :D Edit: also we do have dryers honestly it's not used alot

Our houses have luxuries that Asian society doesn’t view as necessary, while theirs have ones we see as luxuries and unnecessary. Because the two countries have different styles of living. America is about having bigger and more, even if we don’t need it. Asia is about having what you need and appreciating it, not going over board.
Middle eastern houses have elevators in them . Especially in Kuwait 🇰🇼 If you’re wondering how I know that it’s because Im Kuwaiti 😂😂 the elevators are mostly for elders because in Kuwait most people live with their family in one big home

What's the average size apartment in Korea and how much does it cost to buy they have micro apartments in Manhattan and in the USA averaging in 225-250 sq feet and even smaller
