Brie Larson's performance as Captain Marvel is probably the most under-appreciated in the entire MCU, at least in my opinion. I love that movie and it gets better every time I watch it.
Yeah... Her character had to overcome such obstacles like realizing she was strong enough to just beat everyone with no effort. It's much more than Iron Man sacrificing his life, or Steve going down with the airplane to save America or Hulk leaving all that he loves to protect them. Or Nat literally fighting for the chance to die in order to save the world. Or Wanda losing the only chance for love to fight Thanos... I mean... Karen... er... I mean Carol had to put up with idiots and figure out that she was way better than them in order to get to a position where she could ignore anyone who needs help on earth (But she left us a beeper like a crappy doctor). That left very little time for snarky bitter comments... and yet she pulled it off constantly. Such a hero.

If you read Joseph Campbell, she spit in the face of ever myth from early man's origin stories to lord of the rings and star wars. Everyone has opinions and they are all valid. Antman Quantamania was a CGI mess with pandering story beats. This film looks like a fun Marvel comedy with compelling characters who are not hamming it up.

These are three of the strongest actors in their respective roles and give real excitement to the new young avengers team. The cgi looks great and the dialogue seems written by someone who has watched the whole mcu and read the comics. Compare this to the writers of She-Hulk who freely admit they had no idea how to write courtroom scenes and didnt know much about the MCU.
Specifically, this is physical comedy. When actors can play off the absurdity, reacting and have comedic timing, a movie can be a total blast. Marvel has relied more on quips and dialog in its comedy, so The Marvels really stands out as a different thing all together.

I hope this movie lives up to it’s potential, the trailer looks so fun and interesting, looks like Brie Larson will have more things to do rather than what they had her do in Captain Marvel… I really hope this movie is as good as it looks like it will be, Iman Vellani was incredible in Ms Marvel, and that show kinda left behind the best aspects that it had by the middle point, so I hope she keeps getting better material
Swapping can make for some fun moments and making that a central plot element should make the humor very justified instead of tacked on so that is a great choice.
I enjoyed Ms. Marvel (the actors in that were great) & only people who have sour souls wouldn't love watching Teyonah Parris & Brie Larson working together. So count me as one of those people looking forward to seeing this movie!
Carol’s humor is this kind of reminding me of Gaz from Invader Zim, like she is so not into this and just wants to left alone to do her own thing… like I’m almost expecting her to say “I’m trying to draw a little piggy”, I dig it.

Hopefully, they can play with some of Carol's personality quirks that they only touched on in the first film, one being her exasperated acceptance of how crazy her life can get. Goose's reveal in the first film was one of these moments. She gives it a wide-eyed stare for a long second, then goes back to what she was doing, "I have a _catopus_ now, fine. Whatever." Hopefully, they can amplify that in this film.
In Captain Marvel, the movie, Bree Larson was stupidly criticized for not smiling in the trailer (one more stupid reason for which she was criticized)... So, I love that the music they chose for this movie was Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys because the first line of that song is precisely "Don't you tell me to smile". I don't think it's a coincidence :) Also, GotG volume 3 is supposed to come up before The Marvels.

I loved the vibes from this trailer, but a bit confused by the timeline. Is Secret Invasion coming first, or this movie ? Coz if that's the case, we already know that Fury is gonna be alright all throughout Secret Invasion, which kinda retract a bit of the (perfectly setup in the trailer) dramatic tension of the series.
I'm also a big fan of the Captain Marvel movie. I adore Goose, and I was so happy to see him in this trailer! I screamed with delight in my reaction! I also love the inclusion of the Beastie Boys' Intergalactic, not just because it fits the space setting but also because of the line "Don't you tell me to smile."
I think Monica and Kamala are great. I just never liked the bitterness of Brie and her character... like doing her job was an inconvenience... btu that may work out okay for this movie. It seems from this trailer that she is written as the miserable personality. Kamala switches and says "Wow. Is this Avengers Training?" Yea this looks like a ton of fun and has a fun tone, so no more Thor dissonance between fun and super tragic. Even Ragnarok had a moment for me where I was like WTF movie, when Asgard explodes and they make a Korg joke, like I am sorry, their equivalent of the fucking EARTH just got vaporized can we have a MOMENT of sincerity please? Yea this looks like a ton of fun and has a fun tone, so no more Thor dissonance between fun and super tragic. Even Ragnarok had a moment for me where I was like WTF movie, when Asgard explodes and they make a Korg joke, like I am sorry, their equivalent of the fucking EARTH just got vaporized can we have a MOMENT of sincerity please? Anyways rant over, I like that the movie looks fun and feels fun and there's hopefully no super tragic thing they make a joke out of.
