    I am a PM for Software Applications I was watching video's just to freshen up on my approach and this is the best explanation of WBS anywhere. You keep it simple which makes it easy to understand, thank you.

    Thank you. The clearest explanation I've ever seen.

    I had to watch it twice. I spent the entire first time trying to figure out how they mirrored the video. LOL

      probably was recorded with a camera behind a glass and the image(video) was mirrored. Just my thought.

    Work Package is NOT a task. Work Package is the lowest level deliverable in the WBS. It's a noun and not a verb. Work Packages contain activities.

    • @yutipm13
      @yutipm13 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then what's the difference between a product-oriented and a Task WBS? This for one is a Hybrid WBS

  • @bztree80
    @bztree80 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How would you break down continuous tasks in to WBS? Say you’re building 100 airplanes, each plane would require assembly, testing, painting etc. You would start assembling first few and while they are being tested and painted you assemble the next few. The stages are overlapped and each with multiple instances(planes)

      yt8019 definition of a Project is that it is unique. Are you sure that you like to plan a Project?

    • @ceeveemydeen5174
      @ceeveemydeen5174 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After the completion of first one the project will become a continuous operation /process with standard procedure, schedule, capacity of man, material, machine, market,plant
      with pre determined wbs.
      Time study, movement study, productivity etc can estimate for continuous program.

    whats first, the chicken or the egg?

  • @jpo6444
    @jpo6444 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Tasks and activities are not Work Packages. Work Packages are made up of tasks/activities. Work Packages are deliverables, like Mech design drawings. Also, best practice is to develop an estimate from the bottom up, not top down. The goal of the WBS is to identify all of the scope of a project so that it can be monitored and controlled. That scope is then used to
    develop a schedule (activities), assign resources, and develop a budget.

    This video was cool and all but how are the words he is writing not backwards.. Is he just good at writing backwards??

    • @rexhart203
      @rexhart203 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      writing???? Man, that is hieroglyphics! I have seen doctors who wrote better. If you can't do it properly, don't do it. takes away from a great explanation.

    This was great, thanks, I've been looking for "what is a design proposal engineering?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Biycarlett Astounded Builder - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to download thousands of business and project management templates minus the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my co-worker got cool success with it.
