When layering sounds for the lead, do you eq each layer first before mixing them ?

95% of the time, all my leads are on one channel. However in some cases if the sound is too harsh, muddy or boomy and creates issues in the mix I eq it separately so it depends on the sound. It’s not always necessary but having each layer on separate channels gives you more control over each sound which is great. The only downside is that FL Studio only has 125 mixer channels 🥲
