I miss rich so much. When I discovered riches videos and started watching them , I was heavily addicted to opioids. I weighed 135lbs. Seeing his videos gave me the motivation to get back into bodybuilding. I was so motivated that I worked so hard I gained over 50lbs in 4 months. Now I’m weighing 200lbs and still growing. I love my life again and I am completely obsessed with bodybuilding. I turned my bad addiction into a good one. Thanks Rich. RIP

knew him for 20 yrs - visited pharmacy with him a time or two - he had knee surgeries - and post op pain - and joint pain from life of lifting like a maniac. Of course he did pain meds for joint pain - everyone builds tolerance to pain meds, so they/we do more... - there is a group of people who love Rich and want to preserve a relatively clean image. I think if his passing is to mean something, then it is a warning against excess. I don't think being addicted to anything - be it exercise or drugs is shameful - it is a reality of the human condition. As a clean addict myself, Rich and I spoke about these things several times because I wanted him to have all the info he needed. A few of those that really loved him spoke to him too. It's a shame that too many people think defending him is to make him squeaky clean - denial is only helpful for a time - then it turns on all of us. Rich was human just like the rest of us. Now let him be.

The Real SyXx Team Syxx Productions agreed, even Rich said himself, he took Human growth hormone (HGH) which enlarges EVERY organ including the Heart. The heart grows but the supporting nerves/vessels do not. He would be outta breath quick trying pump that blood volume. He died from a combination of things steroids, HGH, oil injection-obesity(OVER WEIGHT), DAMGED Enlarged Organs(liver, kidneys) added with drugs (opiates). Its sad because he seemed like a cool dude. He overdosed on opiods likely fentanyl, he was doing oxys, coke and sometimes crystal. The day he died all of the people that were there with him said they were all using a whole mix of drugs that day. The toxicology reports somehow miraculously disappeared. This is why people belive their was foul play. Rich was acquainted with a few different gangs and it was rumored that the real 5%ers did not like him using that name for himself and a group of guys. He may have had some enemies thay wanted him dead. Someone might have fentanyl swapped him or used a different substance that day and then threatened or bribed the coroner to make the toxicology reports disappear to rule out foul play

1. Rich was out of breath in almost every video he made...even sitting in his car he was breathing heavy.
2. Rich took a lot of chems. HG, steroids, coke, hgh, etc. There have been a bunch of bodybuilders who add foreign chemicals to their body that die prematurely.
3. Heart disease is a real killer of middle aged men....even healthy men.
4. The body is not made to be his size, weight, and endure the stress he added for an extreme amount of time.

I consider Rich a friend, as he always answered my questions about fitness and took time to help me, a nobody, and asked NOTHING in return. I never got to meet him, but I am so thankful to have known him at all, I am very PISSED OFF and sad that he is gone. IN A HOMICIDE, the first person suspected is the spouse/GF, and guess who was there when this happened? Guess who Rich had a love/hate relationship with? Yeah, I have some questions for her.

I'm intrigued by the medical examiner's observation of ascites - fluid accumulating in Piana's belly due to liver disease. I suppose that could have been a result of the coma, but it has me wondering if liver disease resulting from PED abuse and/or heavy eating could be one cause of the "bubble gut" phenomenon in bodybuilders. Obviously ascites causes distention, as we see in alcoholics. I wonder if simply having a heavily fatty or scarred liver could cause some distention. Thoughts? This explanation for the bubble gut would explain why the phenomenon does seem to be reversible, considering that liver disease is reversible.

I know GH plays a huge role in that bubble belly, your intestines grow as everything else does thus resulting in washboard abs on top of what looks like a beer gut. I would imagine that if all your internal organs grew well past their healthy size that you run out of room in your body and that would cause all kinds of things to start malfunctioning.

It was an opiate, either oxycodone or oxycotin and she probably cut it with something which killed him.
They would have picked up on that when he first came into the hospital. They check your blood immediately to see as best as possible what is wrong with you. And your body will show physical signs that you have been poisoned/overdosed, it's not just in your blood. None of that was the case here.

Even though I didn't like what Rich was doing to his body, I respected and liked him for his honesty and straightforwardness, and not to mention he was a really nice guy. It was a loss.
