  • In this video I create a mini Fabric Book and slow stitch on the pages. I am not really someone who sews, so much of this was very new to me. This is part of a collaboration with @texturejunkies8780 and @TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia The theme for this collaboration was 'Fabric' as set by me. I'll link the videos from both Cheran and Peg (when available). Meantime you are welcome to join in and use the hashtag #tagasister or tag any of us on social media

    Wonderful use of simple materials. I love that you used the loose fibers and scraps to decorate pages. ❤

    Dear Kylie- Love the textures of the fabrics you chose to use and the stitching as mark making. No worries on the fiddily bits…it reminds me of my fly casting…Patience and perseverance! Until next time! 💖🙏🪡

    This project is just delightful! I love little books, and your ideas for each page are fantastic! Sewing like that on burlap is very difficult; I am very encouraged! TFS. Loved the background music, too! 🙏🥰

      Thank you so much Evelyn - not sure the burlap was the best choice but I got there 😄

    Kylie I absolutely love your mini slow stitch journal. So full of texture I love your rustic colour palette it seems to go so well with the birdsong. 🩵

    Your little rows of stitching remind me of sashiko... the Japanese art of repairing fabric with geometrical designs to strengthen it. This wee journal is delightful Kylie! xx

      Thank you - I would certainly like to try and do more stitching including sashiko- so many things I want to do and not enough time! Xo

    I am not sure, but it looks like your thread is twisted. You can hold the book up and let the needle and thread untwist. It will help with the knotting. I really like how you slow stitched this together. It really looks great.💜⛟💜⛟💜

    Try pulling your thread over a candle if you want it to pass through this sort of fabric more easily

      @KylieCooStudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes of course Kath - why didn’t I think of that! I use wax (or waxed thread) when I am making journals so it makes sense with fabric as well. Thanks for taking the time to keep me right 💗
